Detailed Reviews
Spend the weekend at this property while we were in town for the Eagles concert. Close to the arena, awesome restaurants and the valet parking was awesome. Saturday morning we woke to an unexpected snow and the staff was so spot on with loading luggage, bringing our vehicle right to the front entrance. I feel the crew went well above and beyond to accommodate our needs in such a professional way.

I was very impressed by the service at the Courtyard Marriott in downtown Atlanta. The lady at check in was extremely warm and welcoming even though it was late by the time I arrived. The morning front desk agent went out of his way on Friday to offer to make me a latte when I got the cafe hours wrong. I wish I had gotten his name because he was so friendly about it. The valet guys - especially Jordan - were very helpful and always hustling to make sure I received my car as quickly as possible. The location was right by Georgia State University where I was helping my daughter get settled so it was easy to get to her and to other things in the downtown area. The room was also really great and quiet. Couldn't ask for a better stay!

Stayed for a long weekend the middle of September. This hotel is a good location to the Marta and within waking distance to some restaurants/attractions.
Make sure to check your hotel bill before departure. I did not and reviewed it the night after I checked out and got home. I was charged 3 nights of valet parking — over $100! We did not have a car and did not use valet parking.
I immediately called that night and the lady at the front desk said the charges would be credited back to My account. I checked a week later and no credit. I have since called 3 times and every time Im told to call back and talk to a manager. I am still trying to get the charges reversed.
I do not recommend unless you check your hotel bill BEFORE checkout.
This is the second tome that a Marriott property has charged me for parking that I did not use.

We always stay in Marriott properties! This weekend we traveled to Atlanta to attend the Eagles Hotel California concert in downtown at The State Farm Arena. I picked this Hotel due to proximity to the concert and all the other restaurants we were planning to visit. This Hotel is undergoing a renovation and we stayed in a remodeled room. The new decor quite frankly sucks! The room rug was too close to desk to use the chair without it bunching the rug if you moved at all. I wasn’t a fan of the renovation at all.
I went looking for ice, as I was on the top floor(12th). There was no ice machine in the room it was supposed to be in. I went to the 11th floor and there was one there but not working.☹️ I then went to the 10th floor and there was no ice machine there either. At this point I went back to my room and called the front desk. I was told to go to the 5th floor for ice and I refused and asked for someone to bring to me. I was then told that this was a limited service hotel and they couldn’t do that😡. When I got upset someone came to get my ice bucket to fill it for me.
The parking for this Hotel is down the street in a parking garage, and valet parking is $35/night. Very inconvenient and expensive. The front of the hotel has very little room for registration parking.
The entrance of the hotel is a 2 door maze, with an after hours key card entry. The reception area is painted black and is very unattractive!
We had breakfast in the bistro area, food was just ok and service was slow and unaccommodating
I will never return to this hotel and I would not recommend it to anyone. It was not a relaxing experience! One thing I almost forgot; they had the cheapest toilet paper in the rooms too-like a cheap truck stop!😖

I don't have high hopes for hotel coffee to begin with, this Airport hotel gave us 1 caffinated package of coffee and 2 decaffeinated. The A/C unit was so loud i was woken up everytime time it turned it on. Good thing it was only for 4 hours of sleep. The lady at the Starbucks, while understandably not opening until supposed to, loudly complained about another guest who pressed for a cup early. A simple "No" would do. A lengthy "I'm not open till it's time...I can't believe people would even ask" so the lobby could hear was not necessary at all. The front desk was very sweet, and the bed had sheets, the bathroom had paper.

4 night stay - I had an extremely poor experience here and it was my first time staying. I came into my room and found long hair in the bed stains in the bed and condom wrappers on the floor. I even asked for cleaning services and never was able to get them. On my last night I was finally offered a clean room, 3 days into my stay of dealing with that disgustingness. I spoke to the managers and employees about this. (Kevin, gimena and Tonya) I was told I’d be compensated for a refund and then when I spoke to hopper about it (who I purchased the room through) I hopper told
Me the hotel said they never got a complaint from me and never offered me compensation of any sort. It’s been back and forth for over 2 weeks now. I feel there seems to be lies on both companies ends. I even told both companies to work together and check the cameras because I was the only one in and out of that original room so who’s mess was that?
I am hoping these companies can still work together and be fair in issuing me my money back in full!

Had a fabulous stay for a work trip. The hotel is new so everything was very clean and modern. The AC unit was quiet and hidden unlike the exterior units used at other Courtyards. Nice nugget ice machines.
No microwave in the room but one in the main lobby.
Parking was $32/day and first come first served. Parking becomes very limited during event night at the Fox across the street. The parking garage is a little daunting due to the winding turns leading up to the parking spots. You must go down the elevator to the hotel lobby and then go up another elevator to get to your room.

Thank you very much for your survey. Unfortunately, some information you provided are not related to our hotel. At the Courtyard Atlanta Downtown we do have microwaves in each guest room and we do a valet parking instead of self garage parking. Thank you again for your business and please come back and see us again soon!

This hotel had a real “HOMEY ” feel to it. I remembered saying it to my husband laying in bed at night. The TV had a nice welcome message. The bed was comfy. The room was updated with nice furniture, bright royal blue accents, clear frig. Not only that, it’s in a great location. We normally stay at the Omni when we go to Hawks games but they were sold out.
Glad I chose this hotel. It was 1/2 mile away from the arena. We had so much fun walking. Lots of people, vendors, businesses in between that we never get to stop by. We decided to walk to get breakfast in the morning too. Waffle House is a 5 min walk, a convenience store is nearby too. I stayed at another hotel room the next night to enjoy a rooftop pool but actually missed the Courtyard. I will definitely be back! I’ll prob stay here instead of the Omni. It was super cool!

The hotel was nice however I was double billed and have had zero follow through with their staff, local manager and general manager. I booked through traveluro and had a prepaid. non-cancelable reservation that was acknowledged when I checked in however I was also charged by the hotel again 3 weeks later. They tell me they can see the problem and tell me they will call me by end of day or next day to confirm the remedy. Every day it's the same drill and no response. It's almost comical at this point after calling every day for the last week. Ive had to file a complaint with their corporate office. If you stay there i recommend you verify at time of checkin that they have you as prepaid because it is very difficult to resolve if there is a problem with this branch. I am hoping its just a mistake and not an intentional double billing. I have not had this problem with other Marriott's in the past.

First and foremost, Robert, the associate who checked us in was about his business! Marriott, if you're reading this, you chose the perfect individual to represent your brand! He was friendly, courteous, and professional. He took the time to give us directions around the area for sights and dining. He recommended a nice restaurant that also had live music. Of course, that's where we went for dinner later that evening.
Our room was perfect. It was clean and comfortable and had all the necessary amenities. Breakfast is not included in the cost of your room, but is available ala carte. The food was good and the staff was personable and helpful. Every staff associate we encountered was very friendly. We were made to feel very welcome at this property.
Don't be put off by the age of the hotel. It is not new and glitzy like the newer hotels. We rather liked the old charm of it. It was clean, comfortable, and safe. That is what mattered the most.
Is this a safe place to stay:
It is in downtown Atlanta, and like every major city in the USA, you are going to encounter beggars and the like on the streets. This is no reflection of any of the hotels in the area. The area is well-policed. The Marriott was safe and secure. Only registered guests with key cards can get onto the guest floors. The front desk check-in is directly in the front entrance facing outside. Only guests with a keycard can enter after hours. Otherwise, personnel at the desk buzzes visitors in.
