Detailed Reviews
I really wanted to love this hotel. My husband and I stayed at this hotel twice within seven days while traveling to and from the Bahamas. I don’t tend to write reviews, but I am doing so in the hopes that management will see this and fix the issues in the future. I will probably give this hotel one more chance, but if we experience the same issues as I mentioned below, we will try somewhere else.
This hotel is very conveniently located just a short sky train ride from the Atlanta airport. It’s nice to not have to pay for an Uber or wait for the hotel shuttle. There is a very short walk to the hotel after getting off the sky train, which was not a big deal for us at all. The rooms in this hotel attracted me due to not having any carpet or porous fabric furniture. Even though the room was fairly small, it was very nicely decorated in a contemporary style. The shower was walk in style, which was nice, but the shower water pressure In the room for our second stay was quite low. I’m not sure how anyone with moderately thick hair would be able to rinse the shampoo out. They did provide two small free bottles of water in the room refrigerator for Marriott members on our second stay, but no water on the first stay. The hotel staff at reception was cordial, but not overly friendly. The gentleman that offered a shuttle ride to the sky train was very friendly. The room was very quiet and there was an option to run the fan continuously, which I appreciate for ambient noise. The one issue that I personally had was that the fire alarm was located right over the bed, which flashed continuously throughout the night. It was quite bright and lit the room. Unfortunately, I left my sleep mask at home, so I did have some issues sleeping. The bed linens did seem clean and the bed and pillows were pretty comfortable.
The biggest concern that I had about the rooms were the cleanliness. On both stays, the floors were littered with small pieces of debris, and not only in the corners and edges, but in the middle of the floor, as though no one had swept or vacuumed for quite a while. The second stay was a bit worse than the first. The trash had not been emptied. There was what looked like a blood smear on the shower wall. However, I understand some shampoos and body washes may have red coloring, so it may have been something else. There was quite a bit of short, curly, black hairs on the floor of the shower, which I had to remove prior to showering. The bathroom sink looked like it hadn’t been wiped down and there were a few very small dead bugs littered on the sink. The high touch areas throughout the room and the mirrors were smudged with fingerprints and/or had multiple water splash spots. I did notice that the bathroom faucet had been wiped down.

This hotel is nice enough for one or two nights but anything beyond that I’d stay somewhere else. I selected it based on price, the fact that it was a Marriott property, and it was walking distance to a conference I was attending. The walls are thin (I heard my neighbors TV ALL night long), the room layout is modern and a little weird and at the time of my visit the hotel had absolutely no soap. I entered my room and went to wash my hands and was greeted by three bottles of shampoo. I went down to the front desk to ask for soap and was told they had none (missed delivery/back order) and the solution was to hand me a pump of shower wash. I understand the supply chain issues we are facing but I would expect this situation to be handled a little differently, especially given the times.

We stayed her for the Beyonce concert, valet was easy and convenient , Mimi greeted us with very welcoming and upbeat personality and I would stay here again but I had. I shower gel in my room, I requested shower gel and two extra towels and I never got them. I injured my leg on the hvac cover which I think is too big and too close to the room, they provide bandaid and antiseptic wipes after reporting the incident. Mimi was great when we checked out , she seems to be the life of the hotel. I would stay here again because of the location and the room seemed clean.

We were not given safe and clean rooms on our stay. When we checked in there was a toilet plunger leaning on the wall outside our door. Extremely drunk guests yelling and falling in and out of rooms cursing. Inside the soaps were opened with wrappers on the floor. The sink was full and wouldn’t drain. Soaps in shower were empty and there were only two towels for 4 guests. There was no remote for tv and the thermostat was 76 degrees-AC completely broken. We told all of this to staff who said they would take care of it. Nothing happened in response the first night and we tried to suffer through. The second night the room was near 80 degrees. I have 3 daughters with me who were miserable-I asked them to take a cold shower so they could sleep and called down for towels (again having never gotten them the first time and were told the hotel was “out of towels”. We were told again someone would come look at the AC and remote and sink that didn’t drain. Nothing. Come 1am my youngest daughter is miserable crying. I went down the the desk in person this time. They sent up the security guard to “fix the ac” which of course makes no sense. The security walked into the room and said “whoa it is too hot on here”. He pressed on/off and said “yeah I’m just a security guard I don’t know but it’s broken”. Walked me downstairs. They moved us at almost 2am to another room with only 1 bed as they had no more doubles so I had to put three daughters in 1 bed and I slept on the floor. Miserable. I was given no refund. Nothing. In the morning we had to go back to our original room and pack and leave. I have stayed at so very many Marriott and am pretty laid back but I am ASTONISHED at this experience. We were neither given safety, cleanliness or a proper room and spent over $700 for two rooms.

Installations are okey, but staff is really unpleasant (surprise: even and foremost, front desk!). AC in my room was not working properly (extremely loud noise) and only after 3 calls and going downstairs to reception, someone finally came over. After not being able to solve the problem (instead of offering a new room) they shut down the AC and brought a ridiculous portable radiator. I will definitely not stay again!!

I would strongly discourage anyone from booking this hotel. I had a reservation booked under my partners name. My partner spoke with Jose, who was assisting in checking me in and Jose confirmed I was added to the reservation and he could proceed with the check in. Then his colleague pulled him to the side and told him he cannot
add me to the reservation since it was booked through a 3rd party and we must call the 3rd party to add me to the reservation. After waiting at the hotel and confirming I was added to the reservation via the 3rd party, I confirmed with Jose I was added and as he was checking me in, this same colleague pulled him aside and told him that I cannot check in because he cancelled my reservation. This was all communicated to me by Jose as this colleague did not attempt to speak with me nor discuss the matter with me. As I was discussing this matter with my partner and inquiring with Jose on what was going on, this colleague then came over and told me I can’t check in, the reservation was cancelled and he would not disclose his name but identified himself as the Director of Operations. I informed this individual that I did not wish for him to address me as I was in mid discussion with Jose and given he did not attempt to communicate with me at any point prior, I would feel more comfortable continuing the conversation with Jose. This colleague then became upset yelling that I had to speak with him because I asked Jose for his name and I can’t speak about him while he is standing there. I explained that Jose was assisting with the reservation and as he did not have enough respect for me to discuss the matter with me from the onset of my checking in I would like to continue communicating with Jose. He again yelled my reservation was cancelled and he would throw me out of the hotel for refusing to speak with him. I explained I understood the reservation was cancelled but wanted to clarify that it was not previously cancelled as it was only upon me attempting to check in after I was confirmed to be on the reservation by both the 3rd party and Jose that this colleague decided he wanted to cancel my reservation (that was already prepaid for).
As this hotel refuses to allow a partner to be added to a reservation, refuses to respect its guest by speaking with them Directly to assist in resolving an issue and employees refuse to provide their name (as if that absolves them of any accountability) I would never stay at this hotel and would highly recommend anyone considering to book the AC Hotel Buckhead (if you must stay at an AC otherwise Marriott has better quality hotels).
In case the actual General Manager or Director of Operations sees this review this occurred around 5 PM on June 4th 2021. The person who refused to give his name was a black bald guy dressed in all black with no name tag and Jose can easily identify who this individual was who refused to provide his name.
Customer Service is clearly not of concern nor is financial impact.

First I will preface with that I have been a Marriott Rewards member for many years, this experience was by far the worst hotel experience I have ever had with a Marriott hotel. When I made the reservation online with the Bonvoy app I selected the dates and area and that there would be 3 adults. The only rooms that came up for the AC hotel had a king size bed. When I read through the amenities in the room it said there is a pull out sofa. So I booked the room. When we arrived there was no sofa, no fold a bed or any accommodations for the third adult. The front desk offered us a sheet and a pillow. The other issue I did not understand was the extra person charge on the app. The rooms are not designed for families. They are small with no room to move around in and the bathroom door does not close all the way let alone lock. While the shower head was broken and would not hold the shower head. I will be reaching out to Marriott Corporate as your satisfaction guarantee just was not met in this experience.

This has been the worst stay this year and one of the worst experience with Marriott.
The room I was put in was subpar with very limited working electrical outlets, blinds inoperable, no trash can in bathroom, no bag for the ice. ice machine was broken, it seems to be the party hotel and furthermore management NEVER did follow back up or reassign another room.
Jessie the engineer was helpful, Earl the manager never did call us back. I had to call the front desk twice to get someone to come and look at the problem which was 15 minutes upon checking in. I travel often and value the location of the hotel but next time will stay elsewhere. There seem to be random people in the hotel lobby. The valet parking price is RIDICULOUS $38.00 DAILY, They seem to be very understaffed because Saturday night it was vehicles everywhere in front of the hotel. They however was fast in retrieving the vehicle when needed.
I was very shock to be treated as a Marriott member as such.
The only positive experience was the front desk was courteous

This hotel was a great location for what we wanted to do (catch a show at Tabernacle, Centennial Park and World of Coke)
Valet was easy to drop off and pick up. Security was posted at the door and you needed a room card to get in.
Front desk ladies greeted us every time we walked in! Fast elevator and cold AC.
Only negative was at check out our bill had $60 extra worth of room taxes. I chatted the front desk and they quickly removed it but feels sketchy to me if people don’t have their original booking costs/ don’t pay attention.

I booked a stay at AC Hotel Atlanta Downtown to participate in the Hot Chocolate Run. I knew from information on the website it was close to Centennial Olympic Park, but I was really excited when I saw how close! I needed to change my reservations the day of arrival, and had no issues making changes even though I'm sure they were seeing an influx thanks to the race and other activities. We were warmly welcomed by the valet service upon arrival and had no issues checking in quickly. All associates working the front desk were very attentive and inviting. Ms. Tracy checked us in and was an absolute gem during our stay! Race day was cold and upon returning to the hotel, Ms. Tracy had hot chocolate with marshmallows out for guests as they were entering or leaving the property.
The double queen room was very nice and easily accommodated three adults. The bathroom was absolutely beautiful and had a mounted shower head and a rain shower head. I used the rain shower head and it was awesome! My only "complaint" was that the bed looked more comfortable than what it truly was, but it did not deter me enjoying my night's sleep or my stay in general. The property is also walking distance to other great sites in downtown.
I truly enjoyed our stay and plan on returning to take advantage of it's central location. It was an overall excellent experience from check in to check out.
Somethings I looked for in reviews trying to figure out my stay:
*Breakfast is extra in their restaurant
*valet parking is $47 a day with unlimited access to your vehicle (their valet service was quick and good)
*Waffle House was located near (on the corner right before you got to the park) and other restaurants were within easy walking distance

No Lounge for members but lobby bar that you can use your $10/day elite member voucher. And breakfast should be included if you ask for it
I would check your confirmation email - typically most bookings are held and you are charged at check out but if you got a deep discounted rate it may be a rate that requires prepayment.
You can also check with your credit card company to see if there is an authorization for the amount that way you can request a increase so the authorization goes through....good luck

Scottsdale, AZ172 contributions93 helpful votesI’m concerned about this “signature scent” I keep reading about. I have allergies and I’m in town for 10 days at this hotel. I won’t make it pay the lobby of its full of a scent. Help!
Did not notice the "scent" to be honest.
Hello! Thank you for the question. We do not have a concierge lounge as you are referencing. The Marquis does have that feature for their gold/platinum members I believe. We do not have plans to build one as the concierge lounge is more for the larger full service hotels. Currently the AC Brand offers our gold and platinum members a $10 food/beverage credit that can be applied to the AC Kitchen, AC Lounge, or AC store. Hope this helps answer your question!
