The local traditional characteristics reflected in the design of this small, but prestigious hotel, located at the waters edge overlooking the old fishing harbour and flanked to one side by an ancient chapel, only complement this quaint and idyllic setting. Yet just a minute walk away are a number of shops, restaurants, bars and other tourist activities all along the promenade. An early riser can watch the colourful fishing boats unload their catch from the comfort of one’s room. The hotel has breathtaking views of St. Paul’s Islands where St. Paul was shipwrecked. All rooms have a bathroom en suite, balcony, air-conditioning, direct dialing facilities, satellite Television, mini bar, hair dryer and room safety deposits. The Gillieru Harbour Hotel has ample public areas to guarantee the excellent and personalized service synonymous with the Cremona family which has run it’s catering services for over four generations. Early booking is recommended.

Our holiday is nearly over at the Gillieru Hotel in Malta. What a fantastic 14 days we have had! The hotel is spotlessly clean. All the staff are amazing -Mary Rose is one of the nicest, kindness people we know and Arijana is special too. In the restaurant, Justin and his team are wonderful, nothing is a trouble for them. What a place! Please god we will be back in March.

A lovely hotel in a prime position overlooking St Pauls bay. We stayed bed and breakfast and they were fantastic. We paid extra for a sea view and initially we were a bit disappointed because we were on the side of the building and not directly at the front but this proved to be a godsend as we got the sun in the afternoon, so it was great just to sit and chill on the balcony. The rooms were clean and the bed was comfy all the staff were friendly and helpful we would definitely stay here again.

Lovely hotel and staff especially Ariana who sorted out a minor difficulty with small window promptly and efficiently. moving me to a new room on same floor rather than wait for maintenance guys to apply a bit of sealant! Good breakfast and nice bar!

Style and simple elegance this hotel has ample measure of both. I loved the way it stands in a prime location right on the old fishing harbour in St Paul's Bay. From here you have incredible transport links to Buggiba and the hop on hop off sightseeing open top buses which take you to other areas of Malta. You literally can explore on a bus. Five minutes walking takes you to the ferry stop. The hotel offers restaurant facilities from al la Carte at the back.of the hotel to a trendy coffee and pastries meeting kinda place at the harbour side of the hotel. This appeared to be popular with locals too. The hotel was surrounded by restaurants and cocktail bars. One of them sold Two for 1 in happy hour. We stayed the weekend and found we had everything on the hotel's doorstep. It was really nice to just take in the sounds of beating waves against the rocks. Surrounded by restaurants serving very good and excellent cuisine. The hotels design is amazing, it's boat like structure makes you feel at sea because it's decks which comprises a modest pool and sun bathing decks which taper off into a very romantic stern with a picture perfect sitting area. Lovely! There were hotel rooms that overlooked the sea but I was so glad we had a side room on the second floor overlooking the busy street below. We had full sun in November. We could also sit on the balcony and listen to the waves crashing to the shore. I could definitely recommend room 208. It's interior was modest, tastefully furnished and very clean. Power shower excellent and hardworking room attendants who were keen to make sure you had a comfortable stay. All the staff were helpful.

Spotless clean hotel, fantastic location. Poor choice at breakfast no fresh fruit juice it tasted like cordial, only 2 choices of fresh fruit each day and not enough variety in general although the fried eggs are cooked to perfection!

On arriving at the hotel we were given a warm welcome by the receptionist. Our room wasn’t quite ready but there is a lovely cafe area where we got something to eat . The room we were originally given was extremely small (515) . We asked to be moved to a larger sea view room which we had booked, we had to wait a day but then was quickly moved to a larger sea view room without any problems. Rooms were nice and cleaned daily. Pool area nice and clean with lots of availability on sun loungers. Breakfast was good and was perfectly acceptable. Overall was made to feel very welcome and enjoyed our holiday.

The hotel rates four stars based on its beautiful location and its extremely helpful staff .We stayed in a room overlooking the street and if one is available a sea view room would be well worth having as it’s quite a noisy spot so we didn’t use the small balcony at all .The basic rooms are somewhat dated but everywhere is spotlessly clean and the beds are very comfortable .Tea and coffee making facilities are available in the room as is drinking water from the machine on each floor , a nice touch .Water pressure is poor as mentioned in other reviews and we had problems flushing the toilet . The TV has a large screen and free wifi was fast . Breakfast offers plenty of cold buffet food which would benefit from being covered to ward off the flies. We did not eat it at all and could be easily rectified. Hot breakfast could be hotter..a problem in so many hotels .This is covered and served to you . The downstairs cafeteria provides an excellent service from 8 am till 10 pm and we used it regularly. The pool area is not large but has a lovely view . The ATM in reception is most helpful for guests as generally we used cash quite a lot. For us the onsite à La carte restaurant made our visit. The menu is more suited to fish and sea food eaters .The quality of the cooking and the excellent service make for memorable visits. We thought the teriyaki salmon was the best we had eaten anywhere. A point to note , which we found unusual these days, is that for outdoor dining there are no separate smoking and non smoking areas . The hotel is good value for money and a gem for its staff and location ..

The Gillieru Harbour Hotel is a real favourite of mine as far as hotel accommodation goes. Its relatively small size and its location, with unobstructed views of the St Paul's Islands, have always assured a pleasant and totally satisfying experience. There's nothing like good old-fashioned Maltese hospitality and this is what you're treated with upon arrival, particularly from Maryrose who exudes warmth and charm the minute you step into the foyer. This year, more than other years, I came to realise just what a gem the Gillieru Harbour Hotel is. The quiet and comfortable room I stayed in, with a balcony overlooking the sea, and with all the facilities that are available, I felt completely restored in mind and body.
