Spent 6 nights here - chose the hotel for its reputed studio apartment style rooms since I had a long stay. Overall I had a mostly decent experience - but some things were hit or miss. The rooms are a great size - small kitchenettes with stove, full fridge, toaster, and microwave. They have a searing area with desk and couch. And large windows with great views! Prices are pretty decent here as well. Some of the staff were excellent - Ryan especially (I hope I got his name right). On my 3rd night, there was no running water in my room bc of a burst pipe or something and he got me into a much better room right away! But there were a couple that just didn’t want to be bothered and didn’t even try to help. When I checked into my first room, it had a huge wad of hair in the toilet, wet dirty towels in the sink, and the shampoo/conditioner bottles looked like they had been ripped off the wall - staff didn’t care - told me to just “put the dirty towels out in the hall” - lol ok. In the first room I had, the kitchen was poorly stocked - there were plenty of plates but only one giant soup pan so I wasn’t able to do much cooking. The second room I had had a much better stocked kitchen but the coffee pot was awful and there were no coffee amenities. But at least it was completely clean. The ice makers don’t work well at all - and they’ll give you ice at the desk instead if you want. In my first room, there was a ton of construction going on outside that would start very early - very noisy. But my second room was much higher up and much quieter with a lovely view of the Longfellow Bridge. The hotel has a bar that sometimes serves light bites and even has a few beers on tap. They serve breakfast every morning - it was mostly the same every day - eggs, two types of sausage, potatoes in various forms, and some sort of sweet offering like pancakes or French toast. As well as fruit, cereal, toasts, yogurt and a waffle station. It was pretty decent. Fantastic location near MIT and convenient access to the trains. All in all I’d stay again if I needed a long term hotel in the area.

Staying in Cambridge, MA is expensive and this hotel will price whatever the market bears with means a sticker shock guaranteed for what you actually get during your stay. No safe, no robe, broken microwave (I had to wait for over an hour to get the engineer to arrive and the hotel would not offer me to change rooms when they could not fix the issue. I had to ask politely yet firmly to get transferred to another room) . The rooms are spacious but everything looks old. Breakfast is generous but quite unhealthy (so much sugar or too much salt everywhere) Ah, that’s you get for $420/night! Thank God, at least the staff is mostly super friendly.

N455EVgd, Thank you so much for the review. I cannot apologize enough for your experience; certainly not the visit we want for our guests at the Residence Inn Cambridge. I can imagine you were frustrated with the microwave especially at the high rate for your stay. We will review your feedback with our department managers so that we can make improvements should you return.

Great staff all around - friendly and helpful. Rooms are generous, kitchen well equipped, lots of bedding. Very good location with a short stroll to MIT, the red line and 2 stops to Boston Common or going the other way to Harvard. Parking is $43 with in and out access. Would stay again if in the area. Close to the River front walkway as well and many bus routes.

Stayed here with three children during August 2022. We liked this place, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it had a good standard American buffet breakfast offering and a decent bar with a few good local beers and a few other things. Well located for public transport into Boston/Cambridge and right next to the MIT campus. Lots of restaurants nearby, nothing outstanding but some decent options. Room was comfortable and accommodated 5, decent kitchen where we were able to prepare food. I would recommend for a short stay if you are travelling through Boston. No parking on site, but we managed to use the public parking over the road (which wasn’t cheap) but easier to drive here and park than downtown hotels.

We stayed Suite, 1 Bedroom, and Non Smoking room with my Toddler for two nights. We need always the living room and bedroom separate for the baby. And they have a kitchen, it is perfect! They have a direct connection to Starbucks and a very convenient area and are clean and quiet. And their breakfast was great. I think the building is a bit old so not so amazing, but they are neat. They are reasonable price, and it was comfortable for the toddlers. so I like it. Thank you for a great time.

Stayed at the Cambridge RI for 3 nights over the July 4th weekend. Selected this hotel as I was able to use my annual 35K fee night certs without having to add top off points. Plus, it was just a 15 min walk to the riverbank to view the fireworks, didn’t want to have to deal with the T afterwards and the Cambridge side is less crowded. We had a queen room studio which had been recently refreshed with new décor, with a slight view of the Charles River. The room was clean and fresh upon entry. The room looks just like the pictures on the Marriott’s website. The only complaint with the room was the sleep quality. The bed was super firm (like plywood IMO) and we just could not get comfortable, just not our preference for a mattress. We prefer a soft, sink in, get cozy type of mattress. Hence the average rating due to poor sleep quality, everything else was very good. Housekeeping was on day 2 of 3. Standard full breakfast that is common with RI hotels each day is back. Eggs, sausage/bacon, fruit, coffee, oatmeal, pastries, and self-made waffles. The area around the waffle maker gets very congested, would be nice if the station was off to the side to reduce disruption in the flow of individuals, with a big island in the middle of the room, it was a bit tight. We did have drinks on Saturday evening in the lobby bar and the prices were reasonable. We were hoping to eat at the hotel on Sunday night but disappointed to hear it was closed. The lobby bar is only open on the Thursday/ Friday/Saturday. There are a few restaurants within walking distance. The T is a short walk to access all the attractions in Boston. Purchased a 7-day card for $22 as it was more economical than individual trips. If you are looking for a quiet summer neighborhood, this is a good area to consider.

859TK, Thank you so much for the review. We are thrilled you found the location convenient for the 4th of July fireworks. We appreciate your feedback about the waffle maker and will take that in to consideration when reviewing the operations this week. It seems like a solid recommendation. I am very sorry the bar was not open the 1 night you were looking forward to staying in. We should be operating 7 nights a week very shortly.

Everything was perfect about our stay from fulfilling our request for a higher floor room with a view, to the breakfast staff meeting our request for a "hot" vegetarian item. We were leaving at about 5am on the final day and the breakfast doesn't open until 6:30am/7am, but the staff was very nice enough for us to let us pick a few bakery and refrigerated items for to go that early morning. The room was VERY spacious with a fully stocked kitchen with pots and pans. It was very helpful for the Uber Eats delivery we had one of the nights as we could eat in the "real" plates and use the silverware. We put the left overs in the fridge. The entire staff of the hotel was very respectful and ever smiling. Having a Starbucks attached to the hotel was great and the exit thru the Starbucks to the parking garage was super convenient.

Shout out to Natalia at the front desk. She was very helpful and went out of her way to get us an early check in when we needed to get to our room, even though they were super busy and slammed trying to get rooms ready. Hotel rooms are spacious and very clean, and short walk to the T stop at MIT/Kendall.
