I stayed here for Business. The location is very central to a lot of offices and restaurants and a great area for running/walking. However, the rooms are not insulated enough. The corridor noise and the doors closing and opening can be clearly heard inside the rooms.
The function room and food service were most comfortable and attentive to detail! It was easily accessible from our university setting and hospitable in their service. It was easily accessible to public transportation with the local rail system.
If you're going to be traveling downtown Boston often, this hotel would be perfect for you. Just a step outside is the Kendall T, Red line. Just a 6 minute run to Boston. Just remember to get a 7-Day pass if you're going by train often, please don't put 10 or $20 on a Charlie ticket because it's going to be very expensive.hotel is located in a very quiet area. It's a plus for persons who like that. Rooms are modern, and are decent size. Rooms also have a mini refrigerator. It would've been nice if it had complimentary bottles of water. The beds are a little to firm for me, but maybe good for you. If you love to work out, you will like the gym. The gym is very spacious, with several exercise equipment to choose from. Overall it worked out well for me, due to the location.
This hotel is centrally located in Cambridge, with access to gym, Starbucks and Bar restaurant. Room is good sized with king bed, shoe closet and free wifi. Registration is efficient and professional, and check out smooth.
We spent 5 nights at the Boston Marriott Cambridge, paying over $500/night and we felt very disappointed in a hotel that claims to be 4-star. The staff seemed very unaware of the fact they were actually earning money to do a job. Check in was mechanical and sleepy, and unhelpful. You know, having to ask, "Where are the elevators?" We had expected club lounge access because of our elite status (that we’ve had for years), but news to us, it apparently changed when Marriott “reimagined” their reward system to include every metal there is on the periodic table of elements. We came and went throughout the day as typical tourists, and never once were we greeted by a door person, who didn't really do anything with the doors either. And when we had to leave very early for the airport and pass through a perfectly quiet lobby with one person at the front desk and two other employees at the doorway desk, not a single one acknowledged our departure. Awkward. You know, like when a guest ends up saying, "Thanks" and the employee says, "You're welcome." And the "striking modern design accents and deluxe perks" rooms? Honestly designed with no human in mind. Who creates a closet door that also acts as a bathroom door? The rooms are also dim and have a 1970s vibe so modern they are not. Deluxe perks means bottled water (at a cost) and plastic cups. And the incessant on-off of the a/c is so disruptive it was unrelaxing to be in the room and have it running. And please, for the love of god, can someone please go get a ladder and replace all the burnt out light bulbs in the 1980s-style marquee/overhang? The hotel is in a decent location with standard cleanliness, but what a low bar for a place that could be uniquely inspiring if it actually was what it claims to be - 4 star. We’re only a few nights away from Marriott “Platinum” reward "level" and we’re going on a trip next week for a little get away. We decided to try a new brand of hotel.…
