Visited Boston/Cambridge area with the family and among the great things to be highlighted that the city has to offer, this hotel is also included. From check-in throughout our stay and check-out, everything was perfect for us.
This newer hotel was great! Modern rooms, well appointed with small little touches like a subtle night-light under the bathroom sink and an ambient noise generator on the night stand. The staff we interacted with from the front desk to the breakfast area and housekeeping were all incredibly friendly. Parking is ample, and worked out well for our SUV with a bike rack attached. The Green Line train stop is just around the corner which makes it super convenient to get into downtown to visit all the sites. Internet worked well, fast enough for reliable streaming. Note that the Light Rail train wasn't running the week we were there so I can't comment on the noise that may or may not come from the tracks. The train track does run literally outside the windows of rooms on the back of the hotel. If you think this might be an issue, request a room on the front side of the hotel. My only complaint is very minor. There was no luggage rack in the room, so I had to access the luggage from the floor.…
Excellent hotel for its price, with good discounts for stays of 3 days or longer. Very clean with spacious rooms and bathrooms, feels almost like new. Just a short walk to Boynton Yards, an emerging biotech hub. If you plan to visit the area many times like I do, I would recommend booking directly through their website as a Marriott Bonvoy member. It is very well designed and very convenient to make, change or cancel reservations.
I selected this hotel for myself and several colleagues for a program we were doing in the Boston/Cambridge area. When looking at properties that were clean, comfortable, in a great location, that was affordable; this hotel checked all the boxes. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, continental breakfast was included, and a small friendly bar in the lobby was all great. The coffee bar is open all day long, and there is always ice water available in the cozy lobby. It was easy to walk to good restaurants from this hotel, and it was close to the city. This hotel was very affordable and a great value.
I travel for business and can always count on a good stay at the Fairfield. It would be nice if the bar would open occasionally, but its not far from lots of local spots. Beds are comfortable and the front desk team is nice.
Great management team, clean, within walking distance to many attractions and wonderful breakfast. Have never had an issue with subway noise. This is my go to place when traveling to Cambridge for business.
I was not aware that there is a Green line train behind this property. So please keep this in mind when booking here. If you are a light sleeper this location is definitely NOT for you. They really don't know how to treat their Platinum Elite customers. Ran out of complimentary water bottles and would not give one from the Market corner as a courtesy and had to run outside at 10 pm to get some water. Upon going in the room, found out that the room is right at the level of the train and the amount of noise it makes it absolutely ridiculous and keep in mind that the train runs till past midnight and the back up again at 5:00 am. Each time the train passes the entire room shakes and you can feel the vibration... Looking at other reviews this is not new and still the property ignores to do anything about it especially when they charge high rates. They can at least invest in sound proofing those rooms which have the issues. Not that the rooms facing the Main Street are any better, as cars go by all night with a lot of noise. At the rates they charge there are a lot of different options in the area which everyone should consider…
one block from Lechmere green line station. excellent service, helpful and friendly staff, fresh clean happy rooms, fulfilling breakfast, absolutely fantastic location, 10 min walk from cambridgside galleria that has multiple food options, and galore of shopping options, 10 walk to the museum, MIT, Kendall square. rooms have a coffee maker, microwave, and a small refrigerator. i would always prefer this to many other propery options/choices around.
This is my go-to hotel whenever I am in the Cambridge area. The staff is second to none, the place is kept very tidy, and the location allows easy access to the different parts of Boston/Cambridge. I'll be back in a couple of weeks, and I am certain I will be greeted with a smile!
Definitely the place needs a good clean up. The bed smells just dirty. If you ask for someone to change bedsheets they don't do it every day but still they change the minimum so the smell stays there. The barhroom had hair un the floor from the last guest.
