I've stayed at this place numerous times over the past decade or more. Things have slipped a lot recently. It's a charming place, but they don't seem to be able train or retain their staff, and the results are somewhat disastrous. This time, it took a record 25 minutes to check in, while four other parties waited behind me. And the person behind the desk didn't seem to understand "please give me a quiet room, not right next to the elevator." I hope things improve, as I was sorely disappointed in this basic customer service, unfortunately.

What a brilliant place - full of character, staff that couldn't be more friendly and really, really comfy beds. What's not to love? It's right next to a T stop that will take you into Boston, and it's not that much of a walk, if you're in a mood to walk off your free breakfast.

This hotel has everything, and has all the small touches to make it feel homey. First, there's an arrival snack for when you're hangry from your flight, and a breakfast buffet with lots of bacon :) Convenient to Kendall Sq and the T, yet quiet with heavy black out curtains for a good night's sleep. I don't always sleep well in hotels, but the cozy ambiance and bed are very comfortable. There are small touches in the room like fluffy robes, a hot water kettle for tea lovers and fancy hair dryer. A welcome change from your chain hotels, and friendly staff!

What a great boutique hotel! My husband and I stayed one night… but if ever back here again this will be our choice! Quaint rooms, comfortables bed and had great amenities. The staff are most courteous and includes a well rounded breakfast. We highly recommend the Kendall Hotel.

Enjoy the ride … I spent one week at Kendall hotel this month (Aug/22) and had an excellent experience. A boutique hotel, very well located (500 meters from MIT) and also from great bars and restaurants. In addition there are nice office lounge available. But, the highlight was the quality of beds and sheets of the hotel. Which I had to buy a pair of sheets from the hotel. Excellent cost benefit !!! Certainly it is a 5 star hotel. Enjoy the ride …

If you’re looking a classy, hotel with deep warm decor, then look no further for a Cambridge stay. Our king size room was on the 6th floor, with deep blue walls that seem freshly painted, crushed velvet drapes & couch. The bed was super comfortable, with a bright, white & blue checked comforter at the foot of the bed. The bathroom is precision, with an oversized vanity—perfect for putting all my toiletries. A Dyson hairdryer is a nice touch, upscale, which tells me the proprietor took the time to offer extra amenities. Towels are crisp white and EVERYTHING is immaculately cleaned. If you’re looking for a hotel room to relax in, this is it. Two fluffy robes hang neatly in the closet. I’ve been to many 5-star hotels and never took the time to take a long bath, and lay around in a robe for a couple hours. This place feels like someone’s guest home they offered up when they were out of town.

My husband and I really like nice hotels and don’t mind paying, but I didn’t really want to pay $5-600/night for a generic, high traffic hotel in Boston for our weekend trip with the kids. We decided to give the Kendall Hotel a try based on the great reviews, and it definitely delivered. We did have one snafu which I will mention first. The bad: When we checked in at 11 pm, the hotel didn’t have the double queen room that we had booked directly with them over the phone. It was a little frustrating while they figured out what to do, so if I made another reservation here, I would call the day before and just double check. They put us in a king suite with a king bed and pullout sofa for our kids for the first night, but we didn’t want our kids (10 and 16) to have to share a pullout for the whole weekend, so the hotel made sure to move our stuff to a double queen the next day. So overall, it was a little bit of a frustrating way to start off our trip, but they really went above and beyond in making it right for us. The good: 1. This is a lovely hotel that I think looks nicer in person than in photos. The hotel itself doesn’t have any amenities, but we didn’t come to Boston for a pool or spa. The decor is so much nicer than a bland mid priced chain hotel. It feels more like you’re staying in someone’s guest room rather than a hotel. We loved that the rooms have ceiling fans! The beds and pillows are super comfortable, and everything just feels fresh and clean - not worn out. It’s a little odd that you hardly ever see any staff around - no one is ever at the desk, but everything seems to run smoothly. There isn’t a full staff of people visible if you like that sort of thing. No concierge or bellhops or any of that. You’re on your own, but that was fine by us. 2. The housekeepers do such a wonderful job - this is the first time I’ve stayed in a hotel since before Covid where my room has been cleaned every day without asking for that. Excellent work by these housekeepers. 3. The breakfast was excellent. It was such a time and money saved not to have to get breakfast out every morning. And the quality of the breakfast was good. My kids said, “this is the best hotel breakfast we’ve had.” They served hard boiled and scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffles, breads, assorted pastries/muffins, muesli, and fresh fruit. 4. The location. Sure, it’s not in the middle of all of the downtown Boston activities, but it couldn’t have been easier to get on the T and go wherever we needed to go. It was super quiet and safe, and we didn’t mind being a little away from the action. Just walk outside the hotel and hop on the red line, and you can be anywhere in a few minutes. We are pretty high maintenance about our hotels (as far as cleanliness, comfort, and overall feel), and we would happily stay here again.

My husband, two kids and I stayed two nights at the Kendall hotel. We had a great experience and will absolutely stay again next time we visit the area. From the moment we walked in, we felt welcome by the friendly staff and the creatively designed atmosphere. The lobby has a home-like feel with comfortable couches and chairs thoughtfully placed for comfort and socializing. The entire hotel from the lobby to the dining area, rooms and even the elevator were very clean. We had a suite which was perfect for a family. The full kitchen allowed us to store our drinks and leftovers in the fridge, a stovetop for cooking if you choose and even a dishwasher! I was truly impressed with this convenience. The large bathroom featured a jacuzzi tub and huge shower stall. I can't emphasize enough the comfort of the king size bed! The mattress and pillows were high quality, super soft and the beautiful bedding pulled the whole experience together. My children slept on the pullout couch that turned into a bed and said that was very comfortable as well. The breakfast was delicious! Tons of choices that pleased the pickiest eaters in our family. Lastly, the subway is right outside their door. This allowed us to easily travel to all our destinations, including Fenway Park and the seaport. Our entire family highly recommends the Kendall Hotel.
