Although the room was spotlessly clean it was unacceptably shabby. The bedside tables had glass tops and both of them were cracked. The sheets were ripped and when I reported both of these things to the staff they did no more than note it down. An alternative room was not offered, neither was an apology or a reduction in cost. In order to get a drink in the morning you have to go down to the lobby, rather than facilities being provided in the room. The coffee machine didn’t work immediately, so the man on the desk barked at me than I was pushing it in too hard (I wasn’t) and when I did get it to work it was cold. With the exception of one member of staff the general approach to customers was unfriendly and intolerant. The only positive point I can make about this hotel is that it is in a prime location to visit Harvard University. I wouldn’t stay here again, nor would I recommend it, the whole experience was unpleasant.…
This Hotel was perfect. The location of the property was great. The staff was very professional and friendly. My wife and I really enjoyed the amenities with our stay and was all free of charge. The rooms were quiet, gorgeous and have a great aesthetic.
This hotel was fabulous. Check in was easy and the front desk clerks were extremely helpful. The nespresso coffee in the lobby was fantastic. Our room was clean and comfortable, even the wife LOVED it!
The place needs a lot of renovation and a lot more sound proofing. I'm surprised it rates so highly on Trip Advisor. Very convenient location, really disappointing appearance. Everything is worn out, and there is constant noise from outside, especially the T.
This hotel has a great location and as a small boutique hotel offers simple convenience including downstairs gourmet coffee station. It is a basic hotel but it is more than sufficient for most people while traveling. Some of the rooms have small balconies which are fabulous take note that the street can be noisy at night
I love the charm of this hotel in the heart of Cambridge/Harvard. While the rooms are small, the bed is comfortable and the rooms have a unique charm not found in the chains nearby. It is conveniently located near all things Harvard. (Boston Burger and Zoe's are right across the street.) Very friendly staff. Nice coffee bar. Decently priced given location. The only downside is it can get a little loud with trucks unloading in the middle of the night (only one night and we were facing the restaurants).
Wonderful two night stay in a king room on the 3rd floor with a small balcony. The bed was very comfortable. Our room was a nice size, with a spacious bathroom that had a huge walk-in shower. The hotel is in a quiet location, easy walk to the Harvard T stop, with plenty of different restaurants in the area. The staff were all really friendly, knowledgable, and efficient. I spoke to Justin several times before we arrived, he was especially attentive and helpful. For the price and great location, this is a hotel I'll definitely stay in again.
excellent boutique hotel with friendly helpful staff. 10 min easy walk from T & Harvard Square. Plush bedding. King bed. Comfortable space if compact. Coffee/tea/hot chocolate bar downstairs. Even in blizzard, staff ran smoothly ... even shoveling snow at entrance and out to connecting sidewalk. Great uber pickup location. Sidenote: even in blizzard, rooms were warm and obviously well insulated.
The Hotel Veritas is a beautifully-designed boutique hotel in close proximity to Harvard Square. Upon arrival, we got a warm, friendly greeting from the front desk, help with our luggage, and information about our room status. While the room was not ready, we took a short walk and received a prompt call when it was ready and were informed our luggage was already in the room. The room decor is elegant and cozy, taking advantage of space well for being a tight room. The finishes are high-end. Overall we had a wonderful stay. I will say though, however, the hotel is showing some signs of needed TLC, from a cracked glass top on one of the nightstands in our room, from stained carpets and walls in the room and in the hall. The lobby furniture looks worn and could use to be replaced. The gas fireplace in the lobby was never turned on, despite it being in the 30s outside. The small outdoor space was littered with trash and is deemed useless in the winter as there are no heaters or firepits. I think a few special touches could elevate this hotel further, but generally, we had a great stay thanks to the warm staff, comfortable room and great location.…
The front desk staff were friendly and efficient. We reserved a two twin bed room and it was quite small. Essentially the room contained the two beds, a small desk/table with a stool, and a closet with a rather large safe that could easily fit some laptops. The bathroom size was ok, but did not have a lot of counter space. I feel they could have added a shelf on the wall to the left of the sink for more space. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The location is great f you are visiting Harvard. There are plenty of restaurants and bakeries within walking distance. The Harvard T stop is less than a 10 minute walk and the Central T stop approx. a 12 minute walk. The hotel is on a side street off of Mass Ave in a fairly pretty neighborhood. However, if you get a room facing Mass Ave, you can slightly hear the truck noises in the morning. If this bothers you, bring earplugs or request a room not near the street side. All in all, we were quite happy with this hotel.…
