Detailed Reviews
We spent one night here before our Fimm. Hike to Thórsmörk. Accommodations were pleasant, spotless and in the very best location for the beginning or terminus of this famous hike. The real bonus was the hip cafe restaurant with great craft beer and food and a perfect view to the falls. Breakfast was very good. Excellent coffee and everything you need to start the day. Would highly recommend.

We had two rooms for our group and they placed us right next door to each other which was convenient. They also had a little coffee, tea, hot water station right outside of our room. The lady up front provided amazing service and was accommodating to our schedule. We had an early morning tour and wanted to get breakfast earlier and so she made sure to have it ready by 6am! She also stored some food we brought in their refrigerator as the actual room didn't have one. The breakfast spread is great - coffee, bread, fruits, cereal, pastries!
Loved the location as it was right in front of the skogafoss waterfall and could see it while eating breakfast.

Clean and tidy room. Big window’s has having Skogafoss view and snow scenes.
Great restaurant is serving delicious main course. Free flow of tea and coffee in common room.
While we faced closed road because of strong winds and snow, staff are welcoming us to stay at restaurant to enjoy drinks and rest.

Four of us stayed one night here as we began our trip around the Ring Road. The hotel is right off of the Ring Road and right near the base of Skogafoss. We got the 4 BR apartment, which included 4BR, 1.5BA, a full kitchen, and open DR and LR. Each bedroom had two beds and there were a couple of couches in the living room. You could certainly fit 8 people here easily and be more comfortable than those camping by the falls.
Two of the bedrooms look out on the falls and there is a hot tub out on the deck. The rooms all have heat registers although it was already quite warm inside and we actually had windows open. Check-in is at the restaurant, right by the falls.

We had a wonderful two-night stay at Hotel Skogafoss. It was in the perfect location--easy to access on our first day drive from Reykjavik to Vik exploring the South Coast, and as a place to take a day trip out to Vatnajokull National Park. The hotel and its rooms were very nice, and we had a delicious dinner one night as well as the included breakfast one morning. I very much appreciated the round the clock complimentary tea and coffee service! Our rooms looked out onto the waterfall, which was only a short walk away. It was in a gorgeous area. I definitely recommend staying here and eating here if you're driving along the South Coast.

This hotel had average rooms, and the water had a slight smell of sulfur. Other than that, the hotel was a great place to stop while you're sight seeing through Iceland. It is right outside the Skogafoss falls, so it is prime for picture taking if you get there early or later in the day when crowds clear. It is also on the way to the Black Sands Beaches if you are traveling from the east.A restaurant a bar is also attached to the hotel.

We were very nicely welcomed at the reception, everything went smoothly.
The room was very quiet at the end of a corridor.
Everything was clean and the room was not huge, but ok.
The bathroom was also clean, very modern. Unfortunately the giant shower without a door put the toilet a bit under water :-) The water was very sulphurous (but that's not the hotel's fault).
There was a large, inhabited spider's web on the outside of the room window. Because of this, the window was not opened. But we only stayed one night, so that was ok.
The breakfast was more than ample and even for me (wheat intolerant) there was delicious bread. The food deserves 5 stars+!
The view is of course unsurpassed when eating. Directly onto the waterfall. And if you go there in time, you're gone before the buses with the tourists.
The hotel is easily accessible on the ring road.
Price/performance absolutely ok.

This was my favorite hotel during our vacation. The view from the room is fantastic. We were able to have a glimpse of the waterfall and a big field of sheep. The location is great too. It’s located in the middle of the south west area of Iceland. You can easily reach Seljalandsfoss, Vik, Reynisfjara and Dyrholaey as well as the Golden circle. The food in the restaurant was delicious. I recommend the Caesar salad with chicken. The breakfast buffet was great with meats, cheeses, eggs, bacon, yogurt, fruits, cereal and bread.
Parking is easy. There is some remodeling going on but the feel of the place is quite modern and new. They have a coffee/tea machine in the hallway which guests can use. There is also a bar area as well as a separate room for extra dining.
The staff was helpful and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel for your stay in Iceland.

The hotel was in a fantastic location with stunning views of the waterfall.
Friendly staff, free parking and comfy rooms. Great price for a 1 night stay including breakfast.
We also ate in the bistro, food seemed pricey on first looking at the menu but the burgers we ordered were massive and really delicious! High recommend.
Overall great stay and would stay here again, the only downside was that we booked waterfall view rooms which we had, but the view was obstructed by an excavator and skip.

Hi, I cannot tell exactly, but the staff were very friendly and after the kitchen closed, the receptionist took care of the bar so that we could order more drinks.
Yes, but marginal!
Hairdryers aren't in the rooms, but you can ask at reception and they will give you one.
We booked through booking d o t com also, but we checked in at about 7 or 8pm. They didn't seem to mind.
it says at the bottom of the page "If you expect to arrive outside of reception opening hours you are kindly requested to inform the property in advance."
So I'm assuming you can put it under special requirements?
Hope this helps.
