Gorgeous facility, poor service. I was hoping to give this place 5 stars but the service and small details do not live up to the property. Breakfast was advertised from 8am till 10am and shut down by 9 am, if you didn’t get there first, you didn’t get any scrambled eggs. We got there at 8:50 and the staff ignored us and our request to replenish the food.

I also tried to contact the place before my arrival for a special request for my 83 year old mother who was travelling with me annd my daughter and they never returned my call or message,

The hot tub was lukewarm, no toilet paper in the bathroom near the hot tub and towels you would find in a 2 star motel. Bottom line is, not worth the price we paid.

It seems very expensive to me for the services they offer. The worst thing is that they require you to check out before 9:00 p.m. but...then you have a key inside a box with a password! That is, there is no physical reception but you have to call a number to get you give the
Cash key. A nonsense. We were stressed all day because we had to arrive before 9:00 p.m. Why don't they send the password by email like all the other hotels that don't have a reception do? I put at least two stars because the breakfast was not bad.

This is a self check in hotel. Our room had not even one chair, no night lamps and wasnt the cleanest. On top of that water smell of rust and solfur. For what we paid I expexted more. Very nice views and reasonable breakfast included were the plus of the location

We arrived at the hotel at the right check in time, everything was open but nobody in sight. To check in we had to call the hotel and in a few minutes a man came to give us a key. He neither spoke Icelandic nor English and was therefore unable to answer our questions. As quickly as he arrived he was gone and we were all alone again. Our room with a bathroom was ok, fairly clean but very small. The extraordinary view, as promised, was the Icelandic Ring road nr. 1 in the distance, small slope and gravel.

Later that night we met another couple who were as confused. They had been informed about the possiblity of cooking your own dinner but there were no kitchen appliances in the house, except one coffee maker. Our main attraction to this place was the hot tub, it was cold.
The beds were ok but in the morning we were woken up by the same man. This time he spoke a little English, pointed eagerly at his watch, asked if we weren't going to leave today because he had to clean the room. At that time there was still an hour until check out and we were alone at the hotel.

Our one night away from home didn't go as planned. We do not recommend this strange place.

We have been in Welcome Lambafell for 3 days and really loved the experience. We were a bit afraid about what to expect as we have read some bad reviews here on trip advisor, but after staying there we don't understand why people gave such bad reviews.
The place is awesome, facilities are cozy and clean and you feel like you are at home and not in a hotel. When we arrived, there were only us there and the place was only for us for 2 days, which was great and we had privacy and silence!
I've seen some reviews of people complaining about the lack of hospitality or information. All the structure is made for a self-check-in (which is very common in Iceland) and all the information we needed was there. There is a phone and a number for you to call and they give you the code you need to enter in your room. Simple, easy, and not a problem at all. I don't see why people need a receptionist to feel well-received. Breakfast was also great with eggs, cold cuts, and yogurt.
Really great place. I felt as if it was my home.

We really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel
Was clean and cozy. I have read in other reviews that some had trouble checking in and accessing a key, but maybe that has been remedied bc we arrived late after hiking all day. A code to access a room key had been emailed to us and check in was easy.
Rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking and travelling. Breakfast was really good and they have coffee and tea accessible any time in the lobby.
The scenery outside the hotel was beautiful, and I also enjoyed a run in the morning stepping right out the door from the hotel, down the road into a valley with waterfalls and a hot spring just 2 miles from Lambafell.
We would highly recommend this hotel!

We accidentally booked on the wrong day. Our error I will admit, but when trying to contact someone to explain the error was impossible. They refused to change the date and refused to give a refund. We even booked on the original date to show in good faith that we intended on staying there, too bad.

Our flights were cancelled by United and with Covid19 being out of control in America we decided it was unlikely we would get to go to Iceland. Of course, like the previous statement, they could not be reached. I did eventually get an email and they refused a refund. We sincerely regret booking with this hotel. It is impossible to ask questions, to contact a physical person about concerns.

Do Not Book with this hotel.

Well horrifying... they put us in room 205, the one with the leprechauns and elves, roof, misnamed attic, double with private bathroom and only a table. My partner and I took turns walking, getting dressed, taking out the clothes... because there was no closet or bar to hang the clothes. The window or skylight overlooked the roof, so we didn't know if it was day or night and dwarf .Two cushions per pillow and breakfast with a horrifying instant machine coffee (there are good ones) and packaged pastries. On the outside, the tables with cobwebs and the Jacuzzi with yellow rubbers. The bathroom was clean, less bad, and the surroundings unbeatable. The thermal pool 1 hour walk...that 20 minutes will be running....anyway, thank God we were a short time. It's not a negative reference, it's the truth. We contacted the accommodation and no response and booking only nice funeral words. HUYAN

What a hidden Gem. I had initially overlooked this property and made reservations at a neighboring hotel (DON’T book KVERNA HOTEL). Got a last minute room and was so happy to have found this place. Rooms are spacious, place is cozy, clean and very nicely designed. We LOVED this place.

Was there for winter break, didn't provide us the rooms we were promised. There is no English speaking or not even Icelandic speaking person who could understand or provide us with proper accommodation. Rooms are too claustrophobic, bathrooms are bigger then the room! Dirty laundry, horrible breakfast and if you complain either you talk through Google translate or call the owner who is sitting in Lithuania. There is only one poor lady who manages the entire hotel from cleaning, cooking and taking care of walk-ins. TERRIBLE EXPERINCE(STAY AT THE AIRICELAND HOTEL OR HOTEL ANNA)

Why did I not have hot water in my cabin for 3 days?!?!?

The owners have said nothing. I have sent them an e-mail and no response. Do to the remoteness of this place we really didn't have another option but to stay here. Plus they make you pay as soon as you arrive.
