Stayed in a family suite which was pretty large and clean. Two single beds in the living area and double in the bedroom. Also had a sofa and small coffee table. Unfortunately the TV did not work and the window in the bedroom didn’t fit properly, so was a little chilly and noisy from the howling wind.
You can help yourself to tea and coffee in the main hotel. Our room, while attached to the hotel, was entered through a separate door near the car park.
Breakfast consisted of cereal, fruit, breads, cheese, ham etc. They also had noodles and rice which was a little odd.
There is a garage with a small shop next door which is handy. Not many restaurant choices in the area. They do provide a voucher for a free dessert or starter if you eat a main course at Cafe Arhus, but would not recommend eating there.
Overall was ok for a night and very close to Route 1, but would not choose to stay again.

In ten days on tour around Iceland with a group of 9 people on photo tour this was the most disappointing hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful! The issues were - No tea/coffee in rooms, no bar, no TV and we were told we have to drive to dinner and to breakfast in the morning!! In the end we had breakfast hotel!! The dinner in Arhus (across the road) was very disappointing compared to the other venues throughout Iceland. Breakfast was similarly very poor. AND a few of us couldn’t sleep because of bright flashing green lights on the ceiling (the smoke alarm). Unacceptable?

The whole hotel including the rooms are rather worn out, in need of renovation.

There was some weird electrical problem in our room where the bathroom light would not come on unless the main room light was also on. So if you go to use the bathroom at night, you have to turn on the room overhead light, disturbing your companion.

The TV wasn’t working during our stay, there’s some problem with the satellite TV service which they did not know how to fix. They gave us a free bottle of wine to make up for it.

The bed was comfortable. Blackout curtains didn’t fully block out the light.

No kettle in room for making coffee or tea, Hot water was available in the breakfast room.

Breakfast was good, with eggs both mornings, bacon one morning but not the other. Bread, ham, cheese and fresh fruit.

Convenient location. Appeared deserted when we arrived, few other guests when we were there.

From my personal experience: I do not recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a good level of accommodation
Here were my concerns in no particular order:
* no lifts in the building and so guests whatever their age or ability have to carry cases up a flight of stairs
* no telephones in any rooms so every guest has to walk to reception for each enquiry/ assistance needed
* there was no kettle or drinks in the room plus, The hotel’s bar was closed our entire stay, not even soft drinks could be purchased.
* bedding was limited to one pillow per bed
* no tv remote. And when one was provided the tv wasn’t working
* Breakfast buffet was serviced by a young man in a tracksuit and no GF options available
* On our last night: finally offered a new room, it was a better size but the tv in the new room also did not work!  And the wardrobe was an ikea carcass without any doors on the frame. the bedroom window was fully cracked from left to right which seemed unsafe  and the en-suite door lock would drop and lock without warning
* the hotel is very tired and need of significant investment to bring it up to spec.  The range of food is restricted and not respectful of dietary requirements
All this said, it was clean, there was hot running water and you felt safe on-site, there is a petrol station with burger bar next door. If you can get a room for a low price and just want to sleep over for one night this would be serviceable.

Dirty room, dirty bathroom, broken window. Amazing what price monopoly allows you to charge…if you do hire a cleaning staff, give them a checklist to go through for every room. It will help them focus on things hotel management cares about in a systematic and focused manner. You’re welcome.

It was one of the most terrible hotels I have ever stayed in! Everything was bad. The room was too small for me and my staff, also my pillowcase and my beddings were dirty. My bed was shaking, it wasn't stable. Furthermore, there is no telephone in the room and the TV doesn't play something in English but it has only signal for 2 icelandic channels. Also, the workers were too late and slow in their jobs, whatever they did. Last but not least, the food was disgusting! I don't recommend it to anyone!

I am not able to give any comments on the hotel itself, but their service and attitude shows already that there are serious problems at management level. We booked 2 rooms 5 weeks before arrival, with free cancellation within a couple of days before arrival. Due to change in our programme, we cancelled the booking very soon after, still 4 weeks before arrival. We have not got our money back, we sent several emails requesting the refund, no answer, nothing. Finally, with the help of booking.com, we are going to get our money back. I do not recommend this dishonest hotel to anyone.

Small hotel with basic comfort. Rooms are basic, no elevator, so if your room is on the second floor you have to carry your luggage.
Beds are small, no bedside table, not very clean, no soap in the bathroom, no hair dryer and no telephone.

I don't recommend it.

The lobby of this hotel was full of people who had booked whose rooms were cancelled leaving them , including us stranded. They used a variety of excuses from ‘burst pipes’ to ‘Iceland Adventures cancelled your booking’, to ‘its the receptionists first day’. All were dishonest. The place is a shambles. Don’t stay here. In our short stay in Iceland I met 5 people who had the same experience of this place.

I booked in March and they made me pay in advance. When I arrived at the hotel, on August 5, 2023, they told me that there was overbooking and that they had canceled the reservation. They did not offer me a refund or alternative accommodation.
The hotel is very shabby, dirty and too expensive for what it offers.

Don’t know. We had our own bathroom. However as the hotel caters to the school trip market, I guess some rooms might have shared facilities.
