Stayed at this hotel with my mother for my birthday and was excited to explore Seattle. The location is great - but beyond that it was a disappointment. Beware of the rate you are locking in and add $25 per night for the required 'urban experience' fee that can't be removed and add on top of that the 15.7% room tax and Seattle Tourism Assessment fee. Our room ended up WAY more vs what we expected. The bar area although small is beautiful, but food was average and service was slow. We had to request items at reception to restock coffee and water since they won't come to your room to clean unless requested (totally understandable due to COVID).

The best thing about this hotel is the bar and bar staff. We had a wonderful time enjoying the restaurant menu and chatting up the many locals and guests who frequent here. Very unfortunately, this is where the magic ends. I would not recommend paying to stay at this hotel, just visit the bar. The bed was awful with major dips and lumpy pillows. The shower lacked water pressure and was a weak stream, cheap fixtures abound. It is an old, old building with lots of charm and horrible reception staff. There is $200 per room authorization fee which I was not informed whatsoever. When I asked about the 400 DOLLARS charged to my credit card, I was told by Patraeza that I lacked common sense and did not have experience staying in fine hotels. Within the first hour upon my arrival, I was repeatedly insulted by reception staff when I asked for clarification about the fees and told it was common practice even though it was never mentioned. Although I reserved adjoining rooms (for a $75 fee) my request was not fulfilled and we had to use card keys to access our kids' separate room. The pool is half the size you would expect and did not have any clean towels. The pool area was totally sloppy with coffee splattered all over the place and used towels strewn everywhere. Certainly not what you would expect of a place that touts presidential visits and luxurious amenities. I felt horrible about my choice to stay here and couldn't wait to leave.

I have been staying at the Olympic since 1980, it has always meant a lot to me. Now L'Accor has downgraded almost anything that can be made less luxurious: toilet paper, towels, food, the Lobby beauty, and blankets on the bed. It distresses me and I am considering not staying with you again. I particularly dislike that the food has been downgraded so much. I understand that you have had a very difficult environment to operate in with Covid.

This is a classic hotel with a warm, inviting feel and an old world charm. The newly remodeled lobby bar, lounge, reception and grand staircases are a beautiful. The lobby bar is inviting and the service is impeccable. The rooms are updated and the beds and linen of top quality as you would expect. We had dinner at Shuckers, the hotel's very cozy seafood restaurant, and the food was well prepared and the service was attentive but not overbearing.

We stayed one night while attending the Seattle Festival of Trees gala. Checkin was amazingly fast and efficient, the room was lovely and clean, and I enjoyed the Le Labo beauty products. We enjoyed a leisurely, delicious breakfast in the beautiful new Olympic bar area, which had a surprisingly large breakfast menu with reasonable prices. It definitely has the feel of a special occasion hotel.
