We really like Kona Coast Resort II from the time we checked in at 10am and were able to go to our condo right away to the last day we were there when checkout was so easy. Unlike other resorts, Kona Coast did not want us to clean up, run the dishwasher, etc (which we did anyway). They were very accommodating in every respect. They notified us they would be spraying for pests, a routine event for them. I called and asked what all that entailed. I did bag all of our food, store our luggage and when we returned later in the day, they left a note that they were finished. We never saw any pests in our condo before or after except for 2 geckos on the deck I named Harvey and Harold (who would appear nightly). This was the cleanest, most well kept resort we have been to in our 28 years with RCI. …

I like the size of the condo and the responsiveness of the staff. Each room has its own AC which is wonderful as everyone likes a different temperature. The kitchen is missing some things l9ike tea hot water kettles, steamers and serving bowels, but we managed. The lanai is great for hanging out and eating outside. They have a quiet pool which we preferred to the pool that attracted all the kids. Unfortunately some people were not being quiet enough or were not aware of the pool that they could take their kids to. Overall, I like Kona Coast Resort and I go there often. It is enough out of Kona to be quiet. The grocery store is just minutes away at Keahou shopping center. There are a few nice restaurants and a movie theater there also.

I love Kona Coast Resort I have stayed many times over the years and I will always return for another amazing vacation. There is a restaurant and live music next to the pool. You can also order drinks at the pool.

We've stayed at a lot of resorts. I don't know that any has been worse than this one. The first shocking thing was that they charge you extra to use the air conditioner in the unit. Unbelievable. I've never hard of such a thing. This also means the unit is HOT when you get there because the A/C has been off. Then, the kitchen was filthy and had ants because of all the food crumbs around the range. The ice maker didn't work in the refrigerator. The pool had tiles falling off of it and nobody was working on it. The sliding doors to the patio wouldn't close enough to lock. The unit looks old, smells old, and has what appears to be 20 year old furniture in it. There is no shoreline access. The water pressure in the shower was terrible. There was no housekeeping services available.…

This is a well kept and maintained resort. It was our first stay there and enjoyed everything about this destination. It's in the Keahou district of Kona Kailua with close proximity to the grocery store, gas, restaurants and shopping. Our morning breakfast at the pool area was a highlight along with evening music and drinks at the same location. Extra large units with full baths was an unexpected perk. Great Resort!

We had an ocean view from the bedroom but the patio looked out over the golf course, and it was fine! Food at the restaurant was nothing impressive, but handy for our first night when we were too tired to go out. Pools were nice. Pressure to do timeshare presentation was high, but in general staff was helpful and nice.

Very conveniently located in Kona and close to the beaches. The resort was well maintained and our unit was cleaned upon arrival. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff at the Activity Desk and they gave us excellent recommendations on all of our excursions and booked everything for us within 30 mins. The Vacation Coordinator (Timeshare) was not pushy at all and took "No, next time" as an answer while we had turned down the timeshare presentation. (I only had to say it once)

This was the worst vacation experience. They put us in the room infested with cockroaches. Room 17-203, by the way, is the one where the roaches will fall on you from the ceiling, crawl out of drawers, hang out on kitchen counters. I had to run to Longs Drugs and get Reid and spray it all over. The hotel was very nonchalant about it and told me that they have cockroaches in Hawaii. Yeah, we have them in California too, but I don’t have them in my kitchen. The hotel management didn’t even offer to do anything, besides having a maintenance man come by and spray more chemicals at night. We could not sleep as the roaches were crawling all over, the beds and all. After a night of hell, we were looking to get an Airbnb and get out of there. Disgusted and holding that can of Reid close by, I called the timeshare exchange company (Interval International), since I exchanged my timeshare to that house of roach-infested horrors. Only after the Interval got involved, the management offered to relocate us to a different room. We had to wait for hours for the “housekeeping to inspect the new room” and they didn’t even start on that until, after yet another roach falling on my head, I ran to the front desk and demanded (unfortunately, I did have to raise my voice) for them to relocate us. I told them that I wasn’t going to leave that lobby until the housekeeping person goes and “inspects” that newroom. Dealing with such stress is not what I wanted to do on vacation. Thankfully, that new room was more or less clean, and had no visible signs of cockroach infestation. Alas, our happiness lasted only a few days, until we found a 2-inch cockroach in the bathroom and another one exploring the counters of the kitchen. Mind you, I know how to deal with roaches - we were making sure to keep ALL of our food in the fridge, were taking out the garbage constantly and keeping counters completely clean. I stayed in Hawaii many times before and have never ever seen such a dirty and disgusting place. I will never stay here again. Simply disgusting.…

We loved the resort. It was our second time visiting. First time at the resort. Conveniently located to a shopping area with lots of stores and restaurants that are walkable albeit up a hill including a supermarket. Lots of activities on and nearby off the resort. If you plan on staying much of the time at the resort you don't even need a car. Beautiful sunset views every night from the resort.
