This Pension was kind of a mixed bag - and maybe I am not necessarily the "right" type of customer here. to start with the positive: The rooms are reasonably big, well maintained and cleaned. There is a breakfast buffet that is plentiful with the option of getting egg cooked to order by people from the friendly staff. Also the location is great if you want to go out in Zell/See as it is located really in the midst of it (which for travelers during winter means that the lifts are not around the corner but more several corners away). What I found not so great: Most of the rooms that we saw were on ground level or below with the only window that could be opened in our case going to the Saalfeldnerstraße which - while not a multi lane main street has its traffic, including passers by chatting just below the window which can be disturbing. Claiming that it is a pension to slow down is something we cannot confirm, actually it creates a bit of stress to get your place at breakfast (and it can get a bit tight there, not really matching Corona guidelines but I do understand that it is not possible to change that quickly), to get your parking space (don't consider one guaranteed, even if that expectation is raised by the description, if you ask you may even get an answer like "first come first serve" - and you may have bad luck). Also the internet connectivity is not really what I would consider high speed these times (but it works)

I found this place on trip advisor. After reading the reviews I made an immediate booking and glad I did. I was greeted by Kirsten, who was so friendly and gave me a great room overlooking the lake with a balcony. I was driving and there was a car parking place for me too within the room rate. You couldn’t ask for more. The room was amazing with all new decor and had two balconies. One overlooking the lake and it had a second roof top balcony again with an amazing view. Very cosy and peaceful place. Breakfast was included and Kirsten made me lovely scrambled eggs and I had cereal and coffee. I was given the choice of fresh fruit juice but since I was I. A hurry to leave, I didn’t go for it but the fruit was very fresh. There is a train track between the hotel and the sea front but you can hardly hear the trains go by due to the high triple glazing and sound proof rooms. Highly recommended if you want to avoid any disappointments. Hassle free and your made to feel at home. Great place, I will give it a 10/10 as I couldn’t find a single issue with the place or the service. Enjoy your travels.

Clean and modern hotel, room decent size with modern shower. Parking down the side of the hotel, near the train tracks but didn't hear many going past.Owner very friendly and gave good information on how to get to places. Good choice at breakfast, eggs of your choice cooked fresh for you. Approx 10 minute walk to bars/restaurants.

Zell Am See isnt known for being cheap. Pension Max wasnt cheap either but probably one of the most price worthy places you will come by in this city. Everything is fresh and clean. Good breakfast and great service. You will not be disappointed.

We booked this very late as we decided to break our journey from Slovenia. What a little gem this is. A warm and friendly welcome greeted us and we were shown to a lovely ground floor room with a lake view. Despite being close to the railway track we were assured that the triple glazing was efficient which it was. This is a beautiful modern and clean hotel, and the 'honesty" bar is a quirky touch. Breakfast was plentiful and fresh eggs offered and cooked to order. As a bonus we were given a tourist card offering massive savings on lots of local attractions and despite only staying for one night managed to squeeze in a delightful trip on the lake, plus an ascent of kitzsteinhorn both included at no cost to us. We will most definately be recommending this to friends.

Good located, in the heart of Zell am See. A very nice, cosy rooms with a nice bathroom. The breakfast was delicious with fresh eggs served, a wide choice of ham, cheese and even fresh carrot juice. The common area and the available kitchen was great for playing cards in the evening. There was self-service beer tap which we could use anytime and was much appreciated by the beer lovers. The price was very good to the service we received.

We stayed here on the last week In February this year. There was 3 of us sharing the room and it was tight enough. Saying that on a ski holiday you are only there to sleep. Beds were very comfy and rooms were at a nice temperature. The breakfast was good. Continental with the choice of ham and fried eggs or boiled eggs. Also an array of cheese and fruit. Location wad also very good. 1 min from village centre and around 2 or 3 min from ski lifts. Very happy with our stay and would stay again no problem.
