Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.

Overnight stay in hotel. Room twin queen. Acceptable rooms. Restaurant with bar . Had breakfast there. Ok. Busy. Staff tried their best. Bit of a walk from Bourbon street. But good location for other restaurants.

The hotel is well located in between the French quarter and the convention center. The hotel has seen better days; the room are rundown. Hi - I chose not to rent a car, but I had seen that Valet Parking was $45 a night. It was much more cost effective to Uber or Lyft everywhere - very hard to find parking around the French quarter, etc.

The St. Charles St. trolley is three blocks NW (5 minute walk) and the Canal St. Trolley is ten minutes walk to the NE. Because of how the river bends, this hotel is quite close to the SE corner of the French Quarter—10... More
