Very nice hotel in a great location. Loved the sculpture and art displays. Comfortable room and a nice exercise facility on the 5th floor. The staff was amazing especially considering we were there during the hurricane Ida power outage. They went above and beyond in helping arrange some food and setting up charging stations for our cellphones and laptops which was critical in helping us communicate with family and make arrangements to leave New Orleans. Paul, the hotel operations manager, even played his guitar and harmonica which was a welcome relief in what was otherwise a challenging situation.. Thankfully, the staff was able to arrange a shuttle to transport us and other guests to another Marriott hotel in Houston where they put us up for free! The next day we managed to arrange a flight home.

Will stay here again! My family traveled to New Orleans to attend a funeral. The hotel was clean, restaurant food was good, and the woman who helped us do split tender at checkout and prepare for the hurricane was so kind. Thank you so much. I don’t have any complaints.

Very nice hotel, in the middle of the new warehouse district, room is nicely decorated also check in and out, people were friendly - except the valet parking boy who was so rude to me when I greeted him and gave him the ticket to bring my car. That was the morning of Wednesday 21 July 2021, when I complained to the receptionist about him she apologized but said that it is a 3ed party company they use for Valet service. I think such people working with cars need some comms training and hospitality training. Of course zero tip for him!

The Renaissance Hotel is a nice hotel. Situated in a great location, about a 15 minute walk to the French Quarter. The hotel was clean and safe. The staff was friendly and answered all of our questions about the area. Lisa and Natalie deserve an extra special shout out. They said hello and goodbye ever time we entered or left the property (which was often) and asked if we had a good day in the city. We felt welcome. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to recharge after a long day of city adventures. They have a nice little restaurant/bar also. Great food.

This is the most disappointing hotel stay I've had in a while. When hotels ask for your loyalty and outline a series of benefits you receive for it, you expect them to follow through on their side of the agreement. Particuarly since the Starwood merger, Marriott has fallen short of this and this hotel is exactly why Marriott is not my preferred brand anymore. Lets start with breakfast - no lounge is open and so the offer is 750 points (~$6) or $10 off at the restaurant. Unlike other hotel brands, no water or snacks are offered at check in because the lounge is closed, so that is an additional expense I need to shoulder. The breakfast coupons say it entitles us to a free continental breakfast consisting of a pastry, drink, and coffee - but when we go to redeem it, we are glibly told "it goes towards $10 at the restaurant, there has to be a limit somewhere right?" Yes thank you, I just thought that limit was a pastry, drink and coffee....At no time during my multiple interactions with the front desk was this explained, and every interaction they threw in something about because we checked in on the app blah blah. We also asked for an upgrade at checkin - especially since we're working from the hotel all day we wanted some space to stretch out - and despite a large amount of inventory online we were told it wasn't possible. Speaking of the app - the mobile key has yet to work this visit. The only thing it has been good for is to let them know via messenger that there are no more towels by the pool, ask about our breakfast benefit because despite having to speak w the front desk multiple times no one explained anything to us, and to complain about the dog that for all 3 days we've been here has been barking nonstop day and night. We chose the hotel because it was close to our house while we had to be out for a couple of days, but between virtually no benefits for being a lifetime titanium member, no view, and mediocre room and forgettable location with a small pool I'd say it was a let down. We did get late check out, but even the 4pm guarantee wasn't guaranteed (they did come close) but late check out is also free to non members so I don't know where I fall on this one. I understand covid has played a role in all of our lives, but at a time when Marriott and the hotel industry is looking for business, I have to say they are doing a fantastic job of pushing people away. For example, if the lounge is closed how much does water really cost you to offer to your elite members? I've stayed at Hyatts and Hiltons as well since the pandemic and loyalty there goes a lot further from upgrades, complete bagged breakfasts, explanation of benefits substitutions, free waters/snacks, etc. 2 stars because the bed is not old and worn and I do love Aveda toiletries.
