I am currently staying in this Villa and forced to write from here. The Villa staff is very rude, Inefficient and doesn’t understand hospitality. We checked in late night due to our flight timings. They gave us the last villa - 71 despite lot of being available. At first, the bathroom pipe was leaking with spillage all over floor and with lot of mosquitoes. Further when we thought of boiling milk for my kid, there was no gas. On villa change request they sheerly said No. After all arrangements I managed to sleep at 4 am. My 1 year old daughter slipped in bathroom and soap dispenser broke - for which I am being charged 220,000 IDR and doesn’t even care to ask the reason for it. In name of veg breakfast we got 1 cinnamon roll, 2 piece of raw white bread and nothing to drink or milk. Further we got 4 bottle of 330 ml. As they got finished, we asked for more and they asked for money for additional ones. Not even this, I requested additional towel due and they told me that only 2 towels are allowed. If I want more I will only get 1 towel next day. This is when I booked Villa for 3 nights. For showpiece they have 2 lcd smart tv but they doesn’t work due to poor internet signals. I have already asked my travel agent from India not to book Villa Kayu Raha for any of it’s clients in future. Very pathetic experience. They ruined my birthday vacation.

We arrived at 2pm due to this being the check in time stated on our booking. We had been up since 2am travelling and completing a sunrise hike so wanted to get to the villa and relax and get some sleep. We was told our Villa wasn’t ready yet so we waited in the bar for 1.5 hours. Once arriving in our villa the first thing we spotted was a black creature rat/gecko run across the room. We immiedityl called reception and they visited the room picked up one sofa, said they couldn’t find it and laughed. They told us oh they come all the time through the holes in the wall so it’s fine! They then left. We made our way into our bedroom to get some sleep and noticed many Stains on the duvet. We were disgusted by this especially as they were on the top right by your head so the cleaners must have made the bed and seen this but chose to ignore it! We called reception AGAIN and asked for new bedding and they told us the cleaners were on their break but will do it within the next hour. They did apologise. We were just about to head out to a local spa when we noticed the ceilings had multiple marks across them. They were mouldy and damp and some of them looked like they had just been painted over. The corners of each room had mould growing and damp stains. We opened the fridge to find mould in here, it was dirty and disgusting and not somewhere you would want to put your drinks let alone food! The pool also had various marks and stains as if it had not been cleaned. Again thsi is not where you would want to spend your time. We eventually headed out as we did not want to stay in the villa much longer. We returned 3 hours later to find the bed still hadn’t been changed. We called reception and the man told us the cleaners had just been and had told him they had been done. We explained this was not true and he tried to argue with us. We explained we were looking right at it and it hadn’t been done. He told us he would send them again in the next hour. We started waiting AGAIN so ended up being late to our dinner plans and no one showed up. We called up AGAIN and AGAIN we was told it had already been done and again we explained it hadn’t so we had waited 4 hours for nothing! He sent his team immeidity and this time they came and changed the sheets. They spotted the stain straight away therefore was very obvious and should have been picked up by the cleaners! We didn’t want to stay here any longer and began looking at trip advisor reviews where we noticed a lot of other people mentioning the same things we had. When we was walking to dinner the reception man stopped us and apologised he explained there was miscommunication with the cleaners as there was 2 other jobs that were the exact same and so they were confused. This raised concerns as that meant 2 other people had complained about the bedding and requested a change. By this point we had raised the complaint with booking . Com and explained it’s not a 4 star hotel therefore it’s been falsely adviertised. We booked with booking . Com for our previous stay in ubud which was also 4 star and was the same price and that was amazing! It was clean the staff were friendly and helpful room was spotless even with and outdoor bathroom. So we could tell straight away this was not what we had paid for. The room was just overall run down, old and in need of Renovating. It was very worn and dirty and the damp problem needed to be solved rather than painted over. The staff apologised to us and we explained we wanted to move hotels, they explained the would send someone to check our room and all the e problems we had mentioned and they would try to fix them all whilst we was at dinner, although this was helpful they couldn’t reverse the mould and damp damage and replace the fridge all within a hour?? I explained this but they still wanted to send someone so we agreed. When we returned from dinner they explained sorry we call do not have and painters available at the moment to come snd paint the ceilings so tomorrow you can love to another villas! We explained we didn’t see the difference in villas they are all dyne exact same and another problem was they never got the sun! We wanted a relaxing holiday by the pool in the sun and this could not be achieved. We ended up staying one night because it was so late by the time we had waited around we had no where else to go. The next morning we attended breakfast we had paid for in advance. It was a buffet breakfast with limited options, flies everywhere and not restocked. We asked if we could order breakfast off the breakfast menu and was told no as we would have to pay for it. We managed to find a croissant and one pancake to eat. Again this is not 4 star, the previous hotel we could order fresh breakfast of a menu with over 10 options. We returned back to our villa and explained the reception we wanted to leave we had spoken to hooking . Com and just wanted a refund. The manager agreed with us and said wait in your villa while I confirm this. We waited an hour and still heard nothing, by this point we had been waiting 24 hours and lost an entire day of our holiday. Booking . Com told us to leave it with them they would sort it and get us the refunds. We only heard from them once. They offered us £70 for a booking worth almost £500!!!! We have the number for the villas and have been chasing the manager STILL 5 days later to see if they can refund us the money, booking. Com have said that’s all they can do but what’s the point in booking with a group like booking . Com if they aren’t offering Protection against hotels if they are falsely advertising? We may aswell book privately for cheaper and not use your services. This is such a shame and has ruined our holiday as we have many upcoming bookings with booking . Com as a genius level and we don’t want to be let down again when we are half way across the world. The resort offered us half the refund and we have proof of this. They told us we would receive it in 14 days, it's been 7 weeks and still no refund so we left a bad review. We have now been told because we left a bad review we can no longer receive ANY refund!!! This is unacceptable and booking.com don't want to help at all. U paascha is the same price but is an AMAZING hotel.

This Villa complex is one of the best places I've ever stayed. From the incredibly friendly staff to the fantastic and comfortable Villas, everything was so good. Breakfast was great, especially the floating breakfast we booked for one of our mornings (this does cost extra but not much). I missed this place as soon as I left the lobby on my way out.

The Villa was lovely and cleaned every day. The staff were polite too. The breakfast wasn’t great but edible. On our last night we were woken up by a rat in the room going into a brown bag - disgusted! This really put a downer on the trip!

My fiancé and I stayed at Kayu Raja for 10 days and absolutely loved it. Price was affordable and the villa was lovely. Pool was clean and maintained each day. Villa was cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels provided. Great breakfast included with lovely dining space in the restaurant.

We were shocked by how run down the villa is right after we stepped in to villa 51. There is no aircon in the living room, everything seems not well maintained and run down. Not even want to stay here even after paid and was told not refundable. Feel like living in a cheap flat which have cheap sofa , many small creatures , dirty fridge , spoil landscapes , old aircond with damp room which has water mark all around the toilet. Definitely is the worst hotel I ever encounter in my life. No value for money.

Very poor for the cost. Far more quality places available in the same area. The living area totally infested with mosquitos and no way of closing the room from the pool area...fine if you don't mind being eaten alive or having to lock down in the bedroom. Furniture in living area smelt fousty and damp extremely uncomfortable. Staff wise l, lots of smiles from the few we met but unfortunately we also met the rotten apple who blatantly lied. Restaurant VERY limited menu didn't eat there. We checked out on day 1 !! Moved on and continued to have an amazing holiday and met amazing people

Also we did not like that the place with the pool was open to the kitchen cause it was there a lot of mosquitos and other insects and a lot of humidity too. .. Not value for money at all. The stuff was very kind and helpful. Also i parked my scooter in close parking. Good security also.
