H1 backs to the river and the flow of the water makes for a very serene and peaceful stay. Also easy access to bath house. No showers. Easy drive to many popular hike locations. Also easy drive into gatlinburg. Great location and nice atmosphere.
My family just spent 5 nights here on the K loop. The sounds of the Little River was great to drown out ambient noise, and helped us sleep soundly at night. While the temperatures down in Gatlinburg were in the 90's, the temperatures here were...More

I've been staying in Elkmont several times a year since I was around 5 and I always see people in the summer tubing down the Little River. You're allowed to tube down the river, but the parking space is very limited in Elkmont. If you can find a place to park at the front of the campground near the camp store, then I'm sure that would be ok. What they don't want is people coming into the campground and parking on the sites. Each campsite is allowed 2 cars, but several people do occupy both spaces at their campsite. So, I'd say as long as you park in visitor parking you will be ok.
