This is a wonderful place! After 8 rough hours on the road I was greeted by Jim at the Front Desk and I don't know that I have ever experienced such hospitality. He could see my frayed nerves and genuinely cared. We had really nice conversations as I was in and out. I stayed here again a few nights later and Lorraine was just as helpful, letting me in before check-in after a few hot days on Mt. Jefferson. When I passed Ella in the hallways she was always extremely nice and always asked if I needed something. Great place, Great staff, Great Experience!

My partner and I stayed here about a month total over the past two months. This lodging is located on the city and county line between Vancouver and Camas/Skamania county. There is plenty of parking and we never had an issue with our vehicle parked in their lot.

The staff is simply outstanding. They are kind, thoughtful, friendly, helpful. Literally, during all of our time there we did not have one even remotely negative interaction with any staff member.

Our room, a queen suite, was quite comfortable. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen comes equipped with both cooking utensils and eating utensils. Full size fridge, dishwasher, two burner cooktop, and small eating space. There's a desk if you need to work at a desk. Lighting is sufficient. My biggest complaint is that the knife could use upgrading or sharpening. Slicing vegetables was challenging with the knives provided.

We used the workout room while we were there and the equipment is kept clean and in good repair. There is also an array of free weights, dumbbells, and two lifting benches.

The laundry is FREE!! There are four washers and four dryers and rarely is there a wait time to use the laundry. The facility is kept sparkling clean. Really, of all the places we have stayed across the US, this one is the most well maintained. They even clean out the washers and dryers daily, the workout room is cleaned daily, the common areas are kept spotless.

There is a coffee shop more or less in the parking lot and at least three restaurants across the street. The hotel has a mini market on site with a wide variety of items to choose from. The room windows open a limited amount so you can get fresh air in your room.

Highly recommend this lodging.

Christmas Eve found me looking for a place to stay for six people (three disabled) and a small dog for an indefinite time period! We had just suffered a bad house fire and had to leave our temporary housing. Because I had such a positive experience with Candlewood in Camas before, I asked them if they could help. James, the manager who had taken care of me last year, was extraordinarily kind and accommodating. He set us up with three great rooms. Each room has a nice kitchen, and the disability room was really well set up. The shower/bath chair system was the best I've ever seen. We all noticed that we slept really well too-the beds were super comfortable.

The staff here makes you feel like you are part of the family. Everyone was kind to us helped us solve our various problems after losing everything. We ended up having a wonderful little Christmas in the room with dinner from Whole Foods.

The set up here is perfect for a long stay. The laundry is new and works great-and it's free. The "kitchen" is a small self-serve store with excellent variety-even organic and good prices so it was affordable when we needed something right away. There is endless free coffee. My wife and I used the gym many times-it was also clean and modern and well equipped. They even had a yoga mat. That really helped keep my stress down. In back is a small barbecue area and a place for the dogs to do their business. Di'tazza has a small gourmet coffee outlet right next door to the hotel and a larger store across the street if you want espresso's or good food. There is a brew pub across the street as well and lots of small eateries in the area. A natural foods market and a large supermarket are a few blocks away. Costco and Walmart are less than a mile. It's an ideal location that feels quiet but is close to everything you might need.

I can't say enough about the staff and management. We were working to get permanent housing with our insurance company. It was very difficult-we kept having changes and James and the other managers were extraordinary in their efforts to house us during this very stressful experience. They made all the difference! The lobby is warm and welcoming and staff are always so helpful and friendly.

The Candlewood in Camas is a small relatively new and modern hotel with great amenities for both the business, family and long-term traveler. I will definitely use this hotel again and highly recommend them for how they treat you as a customer.

What would have made this stay better was... Give us the room that we reserved that was on our confirmed reservation instead of lying and saying we didn't reserve it. Fix the majorly damaged wall behind the recliner where the recliner hits the wall and the foot-long ripped box spring. Check and make sure that the protective plastic on the coffee cups isn't ripped so they're sanitary. Filthy black marks on the ends of the paper towel rolls. No hair conditioner in the shower dispenser. Fix bathroom fan that doesn't run. Change bathroom light over vanity that is so dim you can hardly see. Clean dirty walls. Water runs out from handicap shower all over bathroom floor because the shower floor is higher than bathroom floor. Completely chipped toilet lid. Brand new hotel and it already looks rundown. This was a very uncomfortable stay and we won't be back. Will not recommend to anyone.

Another thing that would not be helpful is if I receive a boilerplate response.

We stayed at this hotel for one night for convenience in addition it appeared to be a brand new hotel. Initially we were happy with the room and the kitchenette. UNTIL we found DRUG paraphernalia in one of the cupboard while trying to make a pot of coffee the next morning.

We notified the front desk, showed them the picture asked them to warn the housekeeping staff and asked for compensation. 20 bucks was the amount they discounted. Unbelievable. This situation could have had a much different outcome had there been fentynal or something else.

Week came up to visit friends and family and stayed here for two nights. It's a really nice hotel and very clean. The staff was very friendly. I found it a little strange that they don't clean room there everyday. They forgot to tell us when we checked it so we didn't save any towels. It's a hassle to have to go to the desk and get more towels, coffee etc. If I'm paying for a hotel room I expect it to be cleaned everyday. The elevator button to our floor was broken also.

Thank you for taking the time to fill out a review. I am sorry that my staff didn't notify you upon check in that we do not clean rooms everyday, as we are an extended stay property and want to give our guest some privacy but they should have notified you of this. I hope next time you are in the area, you will give us another chance to improve and we will be happy to accommodate your needs.

Overall, the hotel was great. Large room, large closet, nice bathroom with storage. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Nice lobby and the Cupboard is great with a large selection of food and drink items. While we didn't take advantage, the area with borrow stuff (games, rice cooker, slow cooker, pans, etc) is a great option. The room was wonderful with the full kitchen. The only complaint is that the bed was very firm. That is an issue for me but others may be fine with it. Great stay. Note that there is no pool/spa.

We were visiting family down in Vancouver and they ended up booking us a room at Candlewood Suites. If it weren't for them we would have never thought about booking here and missed out on a wonderful experience.

The hotel is very clean and the room was amazing. We had a king size bed suite (room 222, to be exact) and I was amazed how how much space there was! It had a complete kitchen, stocked with every kind of dish you could need. The hotel also offers a "borrowing locker" that has different kitchen gadgets, games, and more that you can use during your stay.

Even with a 10-month old baby the room didn't feel small and cramped and he had plenty of room to roam while we were able to relax. The only thing that was a slight bummer is that our 'view' was the new building construction behind the hotel, however that isn't that big of a deal since we were really only there at night.

It was only a few minute drive to the highway so going down to Portland was fast and convenient. Our stay was so enjoyable that we have considered staying here the next time we decide to make a trip to Portland instead of staying somewhere in the city.

I say this because the hotel is at a intersection and I can hear every muffler that goes by every night. Kinda hard to get a good nights sleep especially if your room is closer to the street like mines was. Rooms were clean. Room service only came in when requested. The TV menu guide doesn’t say it, but the channel is 25. That’s not listed. Laundry is free. Just buy or bring your own soap.

On the downside, I'm sorry you didn't get a good night's sleep because of your room allocation. We'll work on improving to serve our guests better. We hope you give us another try!
