The entire experience at the hotel was truly pleasant! Excellent service every day by these kind and attentive hotel staff, Maria at the desk, Hector helping in and out of the hotel for my numerous trips in n and out of the hotel! Sare’ was an excellent service and guidance attendant and Shari , awesome. Room was up to expectations and the area was quiet for sleeping! Thank you for making my first stay with you terrific! Will recommend and be coming back! Janine T Roe

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I flew to NYC for a family visit. We travel there at least twice a year. This particular vacation was fraught with disasterous airline/FAA controllers issues. We were trapped in NYC for an extra week because of the enormous amounts of cancelled flights. We booked the Belleclaire for our forced extended stay due to our familiarity with the hotel (we have stayed there before). Let me first tell you that we have always enjoyed our stay at this hotel. But, it was quite conforting to know that even though we were stuck in NYC for an extra week, we would be well taken care of by the hotel and staff. The staff, all of them, from management to the regular employees are wonderful. They are responsive to requests, they help you with transportation and things to do and see. We also couldnt ask for a cleaner hotel. They really take pride in their appearance and it shows. I mean, come on, this is NYC, the land of tourism! You would think that with that much foot trafffic coming and going, the place would be kind of run down, worn out. I assure you that it is not. An additionak benefit is the most lovely french cafe in the lobby, yes it does get quite busy, but people like good things so the crowds can grow for the cafe alait and pastries. The location of the hotel on the upper west side is perfect. When in NYC you tend to walk a lot! This hotel is centrally situated and is walkable to most spots you would want to visit. The subway system is still decent in NYC and this hotel is close to the subway lines. The added benefit for us, is the location to Columbus Ave, Broadway and Amsterdam Ave. Theses streets on the UWS contain so many restaurants and bodegas that you will be able to eat, whatever tye of food you want, whenever you want. So a quick recap. This is our favorite hotel in NYC! I reccomend staying here any time you travel to th 'Big Apple'. Kudos to the Belleclaire for this gem of a place. Go, you'll be gad you did.

We enjoyed our experience very much. There are a few challenges with the elevator and the lines for breakfast daily which is why I gave it a four I would’ve given 4 1/2 but that was not an option. We enjoyed our time and we would recommend this place to anyone it is beautifully located off of 76 street close to Subway options but less hustle and bustle and being further downtown central Park was four blocks over very convenient. Staff was very good and accessible. Just some logistics in the hotel challenges that we felt were challenging for us.

When we travel to NYC, for business or pleasure, this is our spot! The location is perfect and great for walks to Central Park, it also feels very safe when going on adventures with my kids. The hotel has so much character and a really cool history. (Look it up!) The staff is second to none. Comfy beds with cool views!

We stayed at the Belleclaire recently for a quick getaway to visit friends in the neighborhood. It is in a beautiful old building but has been renovated with modern touches. Our room was very small but functional—just what we needed since we were out and about. The bar area was very cool, especially the solarium above with the building lit at night, and the F&B offerings were excellent. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating and the location was great with easy access to the upper west side.

Based on the great reviews we decided to book this hotel for our family vacation and we are so happy we did! The hotel is at a great location close to lots of restaurants and the subway. The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating when we asked for an upgrade to conjoining rooms and wanted to add a night. Thanks so much to Shances and Maria for being so kind and helpful. We definitely plan to come back to this wonderful hotel!

Such a great experience at the property this past week / accommodated every request for our larger family group and what a great neighborhood for a home base in NYC! Our kiddos loved the bakery downstairs and also check out the Lush store on ground level next to the hotel. Will be back next time we visit!!

I am pleasantly surprised by this hotel and will stay here again. First, the price was right! It has been recently updated, has a location convenient to the subway, has an attached bar with food, and an attached French bakery. Being an older building, I was expecting a smaller room than we received. Bottled water is complimentary. Staff is friendly and helpful. Our room is quiet, maybe because it does not face the street. The only downside is the small elevators, and currently one is out of service. If you don’t mind taking the stairs and you’re on a low floor, you wouldn’t even notice this inconvenience, but we are on an upper floor and in our upper years. Not a huge problem, just a minor annoyance until the third elevator is fixed. Overall, a pleasant experience.
