Welcome to The Broome. As a truly boutique SoHo residence, we are honored to be your home away from home in New York City - but we are also so much more. At the Broome you can expect small accommodations, but the high quality location and hospitality experience you'll get in return is worth it. The hotel is small but imbued with genuine charm and personality. You'll want to be outside enjoying the prime location, anyway! The courtyard is open to guests and absolutely lovely at all hours of the day. The staff is excellently kind, responsive, and welcoming. I accidentally left a piece of jewelry there and they were absolutely accommodating in helping return it to me. Would absolutely stay again.

The Broome Hotel goes above and beyond in service! I stayed for a work trip. Not only are the rooms comfortable and clean or the neighborhood/location divine, but the staff is standout. The breakfast in the cafe provided every morning is a nice perk and feels like a private restaurant (it's delicious too!). It was a great option for someone traveling on business who needed to get out early. The staff working the restaurant are super friendly and are a great way to start the day. They also held my luggage on the day of my departure and allowed me to use their conference room for a call I had shortly before my flight. Great! Would recommend!

The Broome was perfect for my 5 day visit. The area is fun to walk around and discover shops and restaurants. The Broome is close to subways to Brooklyn or uptown. My room was excellent. The breakfast, included in the room price which is unusual in New York, was delicious and always served with a friendly chat. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. I had a very happy stay.

Cancelled prepaid, non-refundable reservation due to “state of emergency” declared by state and city of New York due to pandemic. Hotel would neither refund $700 deposit or provide hotel credit for future use. They said prepaid, non-refundable reservations are never refunded “for any reason.” As a result, I will NEVER stay at The Broome nor recommend it to anyone!

The staff is incredibly personable and accommodating, often going above and beyond to meet our family's often challenging needs. Grace was especially courteous and helpful -- she even warmed up a leftover bowl of soup from my favorite restaurant and brought it right to our room! The others at the front desk were kind and helpful as well. The daily free breakfast was delicious and served by such lovely people. The penthouse was a delight, with the biggest patio I've ever been on in NYC. This boutique hotel has charm galore. Not another one like it. The location is fabulous. We'll definitely be back!

First the positives:
1) the staff is beyond nice. They helpful, attentive and caring. There is not much of it, but I like that.
2) the building is unique, very interestingly shaped with the inner courtyard
3) the location is great
4) the bed is very comfortable and the bed linens lovely

Now what, according to my experience, could be improved.
1) the carpet in my room was stained and a little dirty. Sadly there was no one to vacuum it when I arrived, they took care of it the morning after. It was cleaner, but still tattered.
2) the room was really quite dusty, on the minibar shelves several balls of dust, which set off my allergy.
3) the bathrobes and the towels feel old and tattered. On one of my bathrobes there was a stain of red lipstick - it was attended the morning after. I discovered the bathmat was stained too but just let it go. With such prices I expect fluffy towels.
4) toiletries are quite chemical, if you charge such prices I expect fine toiletries.
5) if you need to some work the internet is slow and the desk "chair" is not comfortable to sit on.

This is not a good hotel if you are in NYC for work, or if you plan to work from your hotel. My room was a bit tattered (cracks on the ceiling that could do with a lick of paint , stained carpet - why not replacing with wood?- and the side chair was super tattered) and the feel is more of a b&b.

My 3 stars are because of the price, it is not justifiable. If it was cheaper I could go back (provided the room was cleaned better ) but at that price there are hotels that work better for me. I think that with some few adjustments (toiletries! Towels!) they could really be a splendid hotel.

What a fantastic place The Broome is. We came for 7 days holiday from Australia and our stay was outstanding. The Broome not an ‘ordinary’ hotel, it is more intimate and personal, we felt very much at home.

Our room was very comfortable with the high ceilings making it feel spacious. Quality furnishings, linen, towels and amenities were all appreciated,

We loved just wandering down to breakfast each morning, sitting with a coffee and croissant to plan our day, By day 2 we didn’t need to tell anyone what our coffee order was, they knew.

Thank you to all the wonderful staff who made our stay that much better. On our way out, we said “same room next time please”.

If your priorities are a quiet sleep and a great location in SOHO near many subway lines, the Broome Hotel is likely the right choice for you. Bonuses — light breakfast included and caring service offered. The internal courtyard rooms are remarkably quiet for NY — none of the din that echoes up to most hotel room windows.

That said, the room was quite basic and small. Plenty of room for storing clothes, but the lighting was limited (often too dark even on a sunny day) and we were a bit reluctant to dwell in the room for long. The interior rooms lacked a view (making them quiet) adding to their claustrophobic quality. If only there were some public space to enjoy in lieu of room square footage. Alas, there was not. There is no lobby or library to sit in. There is a courtyard, but it will not be comfortable in most seasons. There is certainly no bar and little sense of the energy of NYC.

If we were paying an off-season rate, the basic nature of this hotel would be more agreeable. We were paying well over $500/night. In a recent trip, staying in one Paris’ best neighborhoods, we paid about $350
for similar space and amenities, with a view and public spaces.

We experienced no problems and good service, so I recommend the hotel. We will likely choose another hotel with a bit more to offer next time.

Just came back from NYC, and our stay at the Broome(sep 21-24). I had never stayed at this hotel, and was very nervous about my stay there, as i couldn't understand why it was rated higher than the Mercer(the main competition for our money this time), yet on trip advisor they had it slotted lower in the best value category(i couldn't figure out their system). Over the last 10 years we have generally stayed not far from here, as i always want to stay close to Washington Square, as it is a favorite place to just hang out and people watch. I had read many reviews about the hotels in the Soho area, and most of them had the Broome, at or near the top(usually Crosby street Hotel gets the honor, but at triple the price). The hotel didn't let us down. It was beautiful. The rooms were spacious, the bathrooms were good size, and the people working there were always bright and cheery. the breakfast(included in the price) was fantastic. The layout of the hotel was spectacular. Only 14 rooms with only 4 or 5 per floor. The courtyard was really pretty and quiet, and made you feel like you were in a small inn in France. My only complaint, and it is a very personal issue, was the bed and pillows were a little too soft. otherwise it was perfect and we will definitely be back. I think the rooms overlooking the courtyard is the way to go if you can(rooms 24,25,34,35).

Great hotel in a perfect location. We loved the small size of the hotel, the interior courtyard is lovely, and the staff are all incredibly kind and friendly. We would love to return. The bed was very comfortable and the room is very quiet - we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was even in the courtyard when the street noise is...non-stop. Truly a hidden gem in SoHo.
