This was my second trip to Manhattan and my first stay at this hotel. The service was great from the front desk to cleaning crew. I especially appreciated Jay from the cafeteria who I learned was the Food and Beverage supervisor. He noticed our meal selection during our first breakfast and approached my family and took the initiative and effort to understand our dietary restrictions/requirements. He made adjustments to the menu for us and provided a genuine interaction every day we were there. Overall, great experience.

Hotel was in a great, convenient location. Great free breakfast and staff was very friendly and attentive. Shay at the front desk was very helpful and courteous. and so was Chris at the bell station. They really made me feel welcomed and at home. Great looking rooftop bar with awesome view, but it’s only open during the warmer months. I will definitely come back.

This hotel is a great option for budget-minded travelers traveling by Amtrak--it is literally across the street from Moynihan Train Hall at Penn Station. The room was compact but adequate and the breakfast buffet had a pretty good set of options. My only real complaint is that the bathroom sink was too tiny.

The Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Midtown Manhattan Penn Station is our preferred stay whenever we are in NYC. The location is prime Midtown, adjacent to both Penn Station and Madison Square Garden, and the property is immaculate and welcoming. We have stayed here eight times in the past three years, and we keep coming back because of the dependably professional service of the staff. Jay, the food service manager at breakfast, stands out for his true concern for providing a great start to the day for guests. He's clearing tables, supervising the food buffet and greeting guests with a smile and true interest in ensuring they have a good experience. Chutney in reception is a welcoming presence and makes a point of greeting return guests with sincere cheer. Chris in the bellhop station deserves a shoutout, as well, for alerting us that our preference for a luggage rack in our room can be added to our customer profile -- a nice touch that will save us from having to call to request it on our next visit. We're looking forward to our next stay in a couple of months.

My gosh what a find! We typically stay within the Times Square area, but this time due to travel schedule I searched for a hotel near Penn Station and to find a good one directly across was such a score. Lovely helpful staff, nice rooms, quiet, and a great location. We weren't able to take advantage of the included breakfast due to our departure but the set up looked great. On that note, a staff member was able to score us a yogurt, piece of fruit, and a danish to take with us, which was quite kind. If we'd had a bit more time, we could've gone to the 24/7 place just around the corner, another great plus for this location We'll certainly stay there next time we go to NYC as a good launch pad for our wandering.

The only good thing about the hotel is the location. The breakfast was instant eggs (like others), breakfast burrito, or egg sausage sandwich which all premade or instant, along with mane staples nothing really fresh except a piece or so of fruit. The roof resto was closed. the rooms were okay, no frigo

We stayed here for one night. The check in process was so easy, a huge thank you to Shea and the front desk staff for early check in. She was very accommodating and welcoming. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Also, we would like to acknowledge Jay, serving in the breakfast area. He was working extremely hard, keeping the eating area clean and neat for the hotel guests. Every employee we interacted with in the dining area and luggage valet employees were so helpful and eager to please. We would definitely book another stay here.

If I had an option, I would give neg star. Arrived at the hotel at 0030, and was told that the computer system is down so they can't check us in. Had to wait and slept in the lobby for at least 8 hrs until we got a room at ~ 0900. Were not able to speak with management on site. Emailed management last week and still haven't received a response. Took 30 min to get hot water. Had to take cold shower before heading to the airport. Such great customer service.

Sylvia T Thank you for your review. This situation was unfortunately out of our control. New York City experienced a power surge which crippled my hotel and thousands of other businesses in the city. With the electricity going down, my hot water heaters also went down which caused the slowness of getting hot water. I am sorry that you were not informed of this power surge and the effect that it had on most of New York City. Thanks

The hotel is located on a one-lane one-way side street, making it very easy to cross the street with luggage if you are taking the train and fairly quiet unless you get a crowd heading to or from MSG. Free breakfast every day until 11 am was a welcome touch. There is also a rooftop bar (closed when I went to see it but looks cool) and the dining area at night becomes a pretty hip looking bar complete with lights and music pumping until 2 am. 34th Street-Penn Station subway station is literally steps out of the front door of the hotel. Moynihan Train Hall is across the street and Madison Square Garden is a block away. A great, more affordable option with easy access to all the things you came to NYC to see.
