Reviews summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Club Wyndham Midtown 45 stands out for its cleanliness, with numerous guests highlighting the immaculate rooms and cozy furnishings. The hotel's amenities, including lounges with impressive vistas and unique daily drinks, are a hit, despite some guests feeling pressured by sales pitches. While the staff receives accolades for being friendly and helpful, others suggest service can sometimes fall short of expectations.
The rooms are praised for their space and modern touches, although bathroom storage can be limited. The location is a major draw, situated near top attractions, though encounters with aggressive salespeople have marred the experience for some. Concerns over reservation practices and the hotel's value proposition, including cancellations and hidden fees, are noted by several travelers.

Detailed Reviews
I stayed here for business at the end of February and whilst in a nice and ideal location for my daily travel to the Consulate and the UN there were a few things that I felt could of been done better.
My room was not attended to during the three nights that I stayed there nor were the sheets and towels changed during this time.
There was a team that were strategically placed trying to persuade you on a constant morning, noon and night to get you to agree to attend a breakfast meeting to agree to some sort of timeshare.
Although comfortable in the bed the room was ridiculously warm and even when I mentioned this nothing was done and there was always a constant noise in the lobby.

We arrived around 1 pm, were told our room wasn’t ready yet but we could have our bags held and they’d call when it was ready. Not ten minutes later as we neared the UN and the East River, I had a phone call saying it was ready and we could now check in for real. Hot and tired from the walk we’d taken (on top of earlier train travel), we then encountered the gauntlet of sales folks who always sing the same song: the company has changed, no more high pressure tactics, we want to give you something special for an hour of your time tomorrow morning. Meanwhile, they don’t take no for an answer. When we finally got past them, settled into our room, and had just fallen asleep for a nap, the phone started ringing. It was the woman from the lobby sales team calling to apologize and offer a tote bag.
The hotel room was fine. Not as nice of a view as we had last time, and no recycling bins, but the beds were comfortable and the shower was refreshing. Morning coffee on the 33rd floor was nice. The doormen and maintenance/cleaning staff we encountered were all friendly. The Wyndham offered a daily “amenity” in the lobby, whatever that was; I was too afraid to interact with anyone lest they try to pin me down for the timeshare sales pitch again. And when we approached the young man serving Arnold Palmers on our first day, he greeted us with “What can I get you?” as if he had a whole bar full of options and not a little cart with one urn of Arnold. Palmer. It was an awkward beginning and the “gauntlet” experience makes me not want to stay at that location again. If I didn’t know there were other locations that aren’t as high-pressure, it would make me want to give up my ownership entirely.

As a Wyndham owner, I did not appreciate having to pay additional fees for parking and cleaning of the unit. My payments to Wyndham for membership should cover any additional costs. RCI is definitely wrong for printing that parking is $60 but does not state it is $60 per day. The additional cost of paying for cleaning is definitely an add-on to what should be included in the cost already paid, not as additional.

I stayed at Club Wyndham for 4 nights with adult family members. After reading reviews, I was a bit worried but went ahead and booked this through my WorldMark timeshare which is now owned by Wyndham. This condo is located in a fantastic location, walking distance to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Broadway, Grand Central (subway) & restaurants. Several great restaurants very close by including Irish Pub right next door. I booked a 1 bedroom deluxe which had a King in bedroom with comfy Queen sleeper sofa in living room, one bath and a well furnished kitchen with microwave, range top, large fridge, glassware, dishes, etc. Unit was very comfortable, we enjoyed the lounge area on 33rd top floor. Had indoor and outdoor seating with great view of East River, Chrysler Bldg. Wyndham had free wine & cheese one afternoon & mimosas on the day we were leaving so we were able to enjoy the lounge and mimosas while waiting for our ride to airport. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Yes, I did get the hard sell to go to their sales presentation at check in but had no problem resisting being a timeshare owner for almost 30 years! I like what I have and don’t need anymore! The elevator can be very slow around check in time but we didn’t really have any other issues with that. We had been traveling for about 2 weeks before we got here so took full advantage of the free laundry room complete with laundry soap! Love having this resort available to me!

I was charged a $95 cleaning fee and I had to clean my own room - it was never cleaned. I took out the trash daily and never received clean towels. The resort stated it was RCI policy and they had to charge me the fee but when I called RCI on Thursday they stated it was the resort policy not RCI. Upon return home I received a letter from Wyndham stating that I was approved to receive a "special loan rate" to purchase a timeshare with them - no thanks!

This is a scam. At check-in, they tell you to go to the next counter to get the keys to the room. At that counter, they promise you a free 7 day stay at any Wyndham resort, plus 3 extra days AND a $100 gift card for attending an information session for 90 minutes about Wyndham Club. It is no club. It's a high pressure timeshare selling session that is near impossible to get out of. It was supposed to last 90 minutes. It lasted over four hours. They promised to give us extended checkout while I was there, but never did. My kids'keys to the room were cancelled at ten in the morning instead of extending it until I get out of the sales thing. My kids waited hours at the pool area for me to get back.
If you travel on a tight budget, go somewhere else. This place charges $249.99 cleaning deposit that they won't give back easily. Five days after we checked out, they are still holding our cleaning deposit. We left the room in perfect condition and they certainly have had time to check the room and see that we didn't steal or break anything - but still no return of the $250 deposit has been processed. I paid with my PayPal card, and PayPal assured me that as soon as they cancel the hold, it's in my account immediately. Five days later they still haven't processed it
The payment went to Wyndham, not this extra holidays company so I'm certain it's Wyndham behind all this forced timeshare selling. Nothing they promised happened. We were lied to about the gifts for attending the session. We got the 7 day free stay certificate, but not until I called them a ten times, and finally threatened to get in my car and go back there. The free three day stay and the $100 gift card they promised to get me to attend were all a lie. I never received either one. We booked the stay through Airbnb, which this certainly wasn't. It's a Wyndham resort, and all the "club personnel at the hotel wore Wyndham tags, fooling people into believing that this session is just to tell guests about Wyndham Club. They were all clearly Wyndham employees, easily identifiable by their Wyndham name tags. This is a scam where they advertise the condos on Airbnb under a different name. I can't believe that Wyndham has fallen so low that they are , under false pretenses, putting their trusting visitors through this scam. If you spend $17 000 and buy a timeshare, im sure you get the gifts promised, but if you don't buy, they give you nothing. If you stay at their resorts, do NOT waste your time on the sales presentation. There was one family at the pool that said they had to hire an attorney to get out of the timeshare they had signed up for because nothing was as promised. A big scam.

I would advise anyone with a Wyndham or RCI timeshare to stay elsewhere. Knowing my boyfriend is an owner, they placed us in a King Guest Room in the hotel side when we booked a One Bedroom Suite as an owner. They told my boyfriend to call RCI (It was a Sunday when we checked in so they were closed.) to fix it resulting in us staying in the King Guest Room. When inquiring about changing our room to the room we booked, the staff was happy to do so but then downgraded us to a Double Bedroom on the hotel side. 😡
Trying to shortchange patrons is ridiculous! We STILL don’t have the room we reserved and have to spend our vacation time advocating to be treated fairly!

Hotel/timeshare exchange in Midtown, a couple of blocks from Grand Central Terminal. Stayed here for a weekend and check in started at 4pm. They have valet for $65 ($90 for SUVs) and $10 for in and out privileges. They have cards as well a wristbands that you can use to access your room. There’s two elevators that work (the third one didn’t seem to be operating). You enter the floor you’re staying on and then you’re directed to which elevator to use.
They put on various events - for instance, they had a mimosa hour with free mimosas and kettle chips one afternoon. However, note that the salespeople will repeatedly ask you to attend a sales presentation, even if you decline multiple times. The studio we stayed in had a king sized bed - note that the couch is not a pullout one. It has a fridge and small kitchen. There’s also a tv in the bathroom. We didn’t spend a ton of time in the room, but it’s a decent stay and I liked the location.

Excellent reception, room was actually ready upon our early arrival.
Receptionist was friendly and helped immediately.
Hotel is centrally located and close to Grand Central. Room was great, clean and with all amenities. We were told that it is a timeshare hotel/resort and that cleaning was not available but if we needed anything it would be brought up to the room.
All in all very good and would definitely come back again.

Let me emphasize that under NO circumstances should you buy timeshares (anywhere)! The salespeople do not tell you everything you need to know and, in fact, they will lie to get a sale. No matter how good they make it sound there are many “downsides” to timeshare ownership that are dismissed or not explained.
If you already own and want to go to NYC this location is well maintained and conveniently located. Do not book through Wyndham. Instead trade for this location through RCI. I have done that several times and it takes a lot fewer points.
There was no housekeeping in our room for the entire week of our stay, which is inconvenient and frankly unacceptable for a place that wants you to think it provides “better quality” accommodations. Wyndham is still using Covid as an excuse to provide less services.
