The Gregorian Hotel boasts a stylish and cozy atmosphere, with guests frequently applauding the spacious, spotless rooms and the elegantly adorned lobby. While its prime location near landmarks and transit is a highlight for tourists, some guests find the value proposition mixed due to unexpected costs.
The service is generally well-regarded for its friendliness, although there have been reports of occasional unresponsiveness. Despite the lack of in-room tea and coffee facilities, the hotel's cleanliness and comfortable rooms receive consistent praise.

Detailed Reviews
I had a fantastic time during Memorial Day weekend on my solo trip. The hotel was conveniently located close to public transportation, and I was pleasantly surprised by how luxurious it felt, especially considering its affordable nightly rate. The front desk agents were extremely helpful in pointing me out to the must visits in the neighborhood. I highly recommend it and rate my experience 10 out of 10.

What a lovely location! The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable, and the hotel was conveniently located within walking distance to all the tourist attractions such as Bryant Park, Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, and more. Korey was such a sweetheart going above an beyond in assisting us with every little thing we needed, and I can tell you we’re on the needy side of guests 😭. Great stay, would definitely recommend 10/10!

Stayed at The Gregorian for 4 nights. Chosen as much for its location than anything else. Hotel around 300 yds from Long Island Rail Road terminal at Penn Station. The LIRR is the easiest and cheapest way to get from Jamaica Station / JFK into Manhattan, Penn or Grand Central Station. Hotel also around 400 yds from Times Sq. Subway stations around the corner. We had a room on the 9th floor, massive bed, good bathroom with bath and shower, hair dryer in room. Safe in room. No tea / coffee making in room which we missed. There was some street noise but then you are staying in a city that never sleeps. Reception and housekeeping staff were great, The only gripe was the lift, one was having work done on it and the other one had a mind of its own particularly at busy times. Would stay there again, yes.

Very mixed experience. The hotel itself is in good condition and the staff in the lobby is pleasant. However, without the best ear plugs you can find, you will most likely not be sleeping at all during the entire stay. The noise from the street is insane and the walls to the other rooms is paper thin, so you can hear literally everything. I realise it is New York and a busy city, but I have stayed at hotels in busy cities before who made an effort to sound proof walls and windows. And it worked. Furthermore, more than three weeks after checking out, the hotel is still is still holding 750 dollars in reservations even though the bill was fully paid at check out. Despite five attempts by phone and email, I can still not get my money released, which is s concern, not least because they keep saying it has been released. My bank can confirm that it has not. Most of the time, they do not reply to emails. All in all, I will not be staying here again, and cannot fully recommend The Gregorian.

We stayed at the Gregorian for 5 nights. We were pleasantly surprised with the size and comfort of the rooms. The bed was comfortable and shower was decent. There is no tea of coffee in the room or the hotel. The hotel itself is on a side road and yes there are a few wandering people there but not once did we feel unsafe. The location is great for tourists the subway is on the corner and time square only a walk away.
The downfall of the hotel is definitely the elevator. I mean it has a mind of its own and would randomly open on different floors. It also took forever to get to you!!!! The staff apologized when we checked in but honestly other than that it was totally ignored. You could be standing in the foyer waiting for 15+ mins and they wouldn’t even flinch. The staff were very courteous saying good morning good evening.
We had another issue where housekeeping threw out our joes pizza that we had waited in line for. We told the front desk many times but they didn’t care. They said we will let the head of housekeeping know and no one ever did contact us to apologize or offer to reimburse us.

It’s pretty, I’ll give them that… it’s also clean… I’d complain about the view (I have a view of a bunch of ac units on the 3rd floor) but that can be luck of the draw… BUT to NOT offer in room coffee is unacceptable! How in the world do you decide to give 2 bottles of water and ZERO coffee? Split the difference and at least go 1:1! NEVER AGAIN!

I stayed at the Gregorian for business last week. The hotel is conveniently accessible by various subway lines, and Macy’s is just two blocks away. They offer an interactive QR code that provides detailed information about the area, making it easy to explore the Garment District's attractions. On the day of my departure, I had the pleasure of meeting the Manager, Karen, who kindly assisted me in printing all my previous folios. The entire staff was incredibly helpful, from Maggie to Rosa, and Edgar, the bellman. I’m eagerly anticipating my next visit.

Fabulous hotel! We have recently come back from our trip to NYC and stayed at the Gregorian Hotel. The location was great we found it very central to all big landmarks. All staff were very friendly, the bed was so comfy and we found the room was extremely clean. The hotel was very close to Penn station which we used to get to and from JFK. 50 USD deposit on arrival which is reimbursed at the end of your stay. The only thing we felt let it down abit was the lifts- one out of action and the other was quite slow. For us we didn’t have a problem as we were only on the 6th floor, however I can see that if you were on a higher floor or struggled with mobility it would be an issue. We would definitely stay again!

I had some events to attend around the Korean Town area, and US Open getaway. I was surprised to find this hotel. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly, the rooms had everything you need for a small trip, easy access to subway, Macys, and taxis.
I met the General Manager Monica on my way to the US Open, she had a lot of experience about navigating the LIRR, I highly recommend the Spyglass Rooftop Bar on 38th great food and ambience.
Overall great stay, and will return soon!

I usually don't write reviews, but I discovered this hidden gem thanks to a friend's suggestion. The Gregorian Hotel is perfectly located. After taking Amtrak into the city, I found the hotel just a 10-minute walk away. Macy's is right next door, and there are about 10 subway stations within walking distance.
The bellman, Edgar, provided excellent dining recommendations and clear directions to Yankee Stadium. On our last morning, we decided to explore Central Park, and it took us less than 15 minutes to get there by subway. The front desk staff were always smiling and eager to help. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the Gregorian and will definitely return.
