I go to New York City often so I'm always looking for good to great hotels that don't cost a fortune. What I love about Park Terrace is: 1) great location 2) good service 3)incredibly clean (everything looks and feels brand new) 3) great shower with good pressure 4) a lovely terrace bar on the 6th floor where you can sit outside 5) hydration stations where you can take as much bottle water as you need (I hate paying for water at hotels) 6) lovely room with a comfortable bed 7) a coffee machine in the room... a feature that seems to have disappeared from most hotels.
Plus, the room was so quite! The hotel is right near Times Square, across from Bryant Park - a very busy part of town - but the room was silent. The cleaning staff in the morning were not so silent; we heard a lot of noise from the hallway. But all in all, a great stay and I'll definitely be back.

The hotel is in a superb location for exploring New York and we were given a lovely welcome on arrival.
The rooms are well equipped and on the larger side for NYC - we had booked a deluxe room but were upgraded on arrival to the premier high floor room, so we were able to access our room slightly earlier at 1400 than the standard check in of 1500.
Free filtered water is availble on every floor - so no need for bottled water and the ice machine is right by the lifts too - all very convenient for all guests without the usual noise!
A couple of small things - We had a small issue with the seal on the shower door - staff were very apologetic and sorted it almost immediately. One lift was also out on our final day so we had a 10 minute wait to get down to reception - thankfully we weren’t in a rush! But maintenance were already onsite trying to rectify it.
We didn’t use the gym, but it was very well equipped and very well kept.
I would definitely stay here again. Thumbs up from me!

I returned to the Park Terrace Hotel after a few years. I enjoyed it even more this time around. I booked a Classic Room just two days before arriving; I was able to check in a few hours before the set time, and my room was well-appointed and quiet. Since I was here to see family, I knew that I would not be in the space for much of the day. But, I enjoyed the amenities-- dinner at La Pecora Bianca the first night, and room service from the restaurant on the second. I also enjoyed a cocktail at the Branch Lounge. The location allowed me to move about the city with ease, including NJ Transit from nearby Penn Station, time in Central Park, and shopping in Columbus Circle and Rockefeller Center. The in-room espresso machine, warm neutral tones, and comfortable space made for a restful stay. My only quibble was that the pillows were too soft! I look forward to coming back again next year.

Check-in was great, easy to do and basically no wait. Lobby smelled great and was welcoming.
The hotel bar (note, not in the lobby) was a very cool and relaxing environment. Drinks were reasonably priced and service was good.
The elevators were absolutely terrible. Getting up wasn't so bad, but trying to get down was miserable. At one point, every time we pressed the down button, it just turned off 3 seconods later - with no elevator arriving. This happened almost everytime we tried to leave. Additionally, the elevators were packed full about 60% of the time.
The room was nice, however differed from what we thought we reserved. I reserved a deluxe studio based on the layout advertised on the website. The room we received did not match this layout, but rather the advertsied layout for a lower class of room. I asked about this issue at the front desk and was essentially told it was ther right room type - be warned not to trust the hotel's website pictures to match the room you want.
We were also met with wet and stained carpet in the room. The hotel promptly sent engineering up and they ended up saying it was from them cleaning the carpet. Um...okay. A little nasty, but sure, we just don't walk barefoot.
In the room, the bathroom door was a slider-type and was an absolutely terrible design. There were large gaps on each side of the door and it did nothing to even remotely mask the sounds from the bathroom.
The bathroom itself was otherwise functional and nice, but the shower leaked on the floor in a significant amount (enough to soak through multiple towels placed on the floor). We reported this after the first day and they were supposed to fix it the second day. I'm not sure that this actually happened, as it continued to be an issue.
The noise in the room from the hallway was significant. This is more of a design and neighbor issue. Our door was a foot from an ajoining door and there was no soft close on the doors, so everytime the neighbors left, it was extremely loud with the door slamming. Probably only an issue for corner rooms.
The last night we had multiple false alarms from the safety system go off through the early morning hours. Several times around 5 am and again a little later. This was a terrible way to try to get a last night's rest before traveling again.
I did share all of this feedback with the hotel directly as well and to their credit, they were responsive, but at the end of the day, didn't have any solutions to these issues and we still spent a nice amount of money for a sub-standard experience.

Lovely room and well appointed. Location was perfect for our packed weekend to see shows. Our room was great and very quiet, we did not hear any of the typical city noise. We really enjoyed having cappuccinos at the terazzo. Service was great and the view and outdoor space was so nice. Looking forward to coming back soon!

This hotel has a splendid view of my favorite area of Manhattan that is Bryant Park, at my request I was assigned the room "park view" overlooking the park and on the top floor so very quiet with windows with a breathtaking view of the park. The room follows New York standards so small but with a sitting area and a comfortable bed small bathroom but all renovated and functional and perfect cleanliness. Inside there is no shortage of hairdryer, nespresso machine for coffee and on the water dispenser floor (a precious asset for us Italians who drink water and not carbonated drinks!) in addition to the sixth floor of the hotel there is a magnificent terrace where I could sip a drink and rest from the daily kilometers traveled in the City. The staff was very friendly and above all efficient in handling our many luggage that we left in custody for a week and that we recovered back from the Caribbean. When I return to New York I will definitely return to the Park Terrace hotel which will remain my favorite place in all of Manhattan.

Such a beautiful hotel, inclusive of the people, the views, and the proximity to fabulous NYC experiences! I took my daughters (9 & 12) on a weeklong trip to see all thing NYC and we stayed 1/2 of our trip in an AirBnB in Battery Park (to have access to a kitchen and not be in the chaos of the NYE hullabaloo), then moved over to Park Terrace to finish out the trip with 3 incredible days of Broadway shows, Summit, etc..
We walked to Belasco Theatre (Maybe Happy Ending), Majestic Theatre (Gypsy), and Marquis Theatre (Elf) with zero issues, sometimes in chilly weather, and once late late at night following a Broadway after party. We felt completely safe and were grateful for the consistent attentiveness of the front desk staff upon on our return each time.
We were given a gorgeous corner room on the 11th floor and had amazing views of Bryant Park and the NY Public Library. The only thing I'd change would be to have linens for the pullout bed available in the room, versus having to wait on someone to come assemble the bed. We got back late the first night and I'm not one to be glued to my phone noticing the hotel texts which I later noticed had mentioned me needing to let them know when the next step needed to be setup. It was a minor inconvenience but still did not detract too much from the overall experience.
Lovely lovely stay overall - we can't wait to come back!

I stayed at the Park Terrace Hotel for business during July 2024. The hotel is perfectly located just off Fifth Avenue, across from Bryant Park and within easy walking distance of most midtown Manhattan attractions and the subway.
Staff were welcoming and friendly. Facilities are limited, however you are able to access the neighbouring restaurant for meals and room service, and the cafe and bar on the 6th Floor serve a limited breakfast in the mornings and drinks/small meals in the evening. The latter in particular has a nice outdoor terrace which is perfect for warmer seasons.
Rooms are modern and comfortable, and a good size for Manhattan. There are no views (except of neighbouring buildings) unless you specifically request a front-facing room looking over the street. Fresh water and ice dispensers are available on every floor.
Given that you will probably not be spending too much time in the hotel anyway, it is a perfect location for business and/or exploring midtown and beyond. The only slight drawback was the lack of breakfast options but this was not a major issue overall.
In summary, a great location if you don't need too much in the way of extra features or facilities.

Super location for wife's birthday 4 night visit. Walk across the street to visit Bryant Park. This time of year has added bonus of the festive Christmas Market. 15 minute walk from Penn Station , 10 minutes to Grand Central, with a nice market. We were fortunate enough to score a 40 th view room. Firm pillows and extra blanket pre ordered were delivered to room immediately. Check in was smooth, when inquiring if room had a frig, we were offered a mini frig. This was also immediately delivered. Be sure to visit the Branch, this is a private area on 6th floor, offering drinks and light bites, coffee, inside and outside seating. Wonderful spacious area to relax. Room has all amenities. We had a deluxe room. Only input is only one drawer and small closet for clothes. Nespresso in room, ice machine and filtered water/bottles on every floor. If you forgot some basic like deodorant etc, closet on every floor, Firm bed, plenty of hot water, good sound proofing. Top notch staff, always cleaning common area, maid service wonderful. Loose shower handle repaired right away. Short walk to Times Square, Whole Foods 2 minute walk,Highly recommended.
