Nestled in the heart of SoHo, The Dominick Hotel draws praise for its luxurious ambiance, with guests frequently lauding the stylish, spacious rooms offering impressive city views. While reviewers celebrate its central location, with easy access to the local urban delights, some caution about disturbances from street noise and construction.
The staff's professionalism and the hotel's cleanliness receive high marks, though opinions diverge on value, as some guests label the hotel as overpriced. Despite the occasional critique regarding decor and maintenance, the array of amenities offered is often a highlight for those staying at The Dominick.

Detailed Reviews

We had a fantastic experience at this lovely soho hotel. The location is so convenient and close to everything, including the subway lines. All of the staff were friendly, attentive, and provided quality service during our stay. We booked through Amex FHR and got to take advantage of all the amenities.
At check-in, we received an upgrade to a SoHi room. The view of the Hudson river from the full wall of windows was absolutely stunning. The room itself was lovely: comfy bed, classic nespresso machine, and a digital service tablet (loved that you could request/order everything easily without waiting on the phone). The bathroom was large, with a deep soaking tub, glass rain shower, plush robes, and a private toilet space. The minibar very well stocked with high-end items, but the prices were also quite steep. If you need fridge space for personal items, its best to request a separate one at no fee to avoid accidental minibar charges.
My only challenge here was the very strong perfume fragrance of the soaps, lotions, and elevator. I'm sensitive to strong scents and it was too much for me. Would have loved a fresher/less intense option so we could have enjoyed them.

We spent five nights at The Dominic Hotel in SoHo for a Christmas reunion with our grown kids from Boston, DC, and LA. Having stayed in midtown and downtown many times, this was my first extended stay in SoHo – and it offered a very different, more residential vibe.
The location feels tucked away in a neighborhood, which adds to the charm but also means you’re about 30 blocks from midtown’s major tourist spots. If the weather’s nice, it’s walkable, but otherwise, Uber rides can run over $50 for a mile and a half. Fortunately, the subway is convenient for getting around.
We had a west-facing room above the 20th floor, and the views of the Hudson River and Jersey City were amazing. The hotel itself feels a bit out of place as such a large property in this funky part of the city, but it blends in nicely with a niche restaurant that attracts a local crowd.
A few things to note – the rates during Christmas week are steep, and the hotel could definitely use more elevators. Wait times during peak hours were frustrating. That said, the staff was wonderful and really added to the overall experience.
If you’re looking for evening entertainment, there are music venues nearby, but don’t expect a lot happening right outside the hotel’s doors. For those who enjoy staying a little off the beaten path with great views and a laid-back feel, The Dominic is worth considering – just know what to expect.

This hotel has huge, extra clean, well-appointed rooms with floor to ceiling windows and high ceilings. Rooms have huge bathtubs that are right up against a window for a to-die-for Lower Manhattan view and you cannot get that anywhere else in town. You can see the beautiful details on the nearby vintage buildings and the NJ shoreline right on the Hudson. I feel that you get great bang for the buck in terms of NYC luxury hotel prices (especially if you book on hotels.com) and you have a couple of great restaurants in the building—The Vestry in the lobby which has a Michelin starred chef and El Ta’Koy which serves Hawaiian style cuisine on the 7th Floor right next to the pool area. (In the summer you can get their floor while lying by the pool.) The Soho/Tribeca borderline location of The Dominick puts you within five or ten minutes walking distance from both The West Village and Chinatown which are pretty much the two neighborhoods most untouched by modern developers and the most interesting because of their long histories. This hotel is a winner! You can grab snacks right across the street at a Trader Joe’s and heat them in the microwave in your room. There are also small refrigerators and Nespresso machines provided. Oh, I do love the Bulgari toiletries as well. I will be back. (P.S. El Ta’Koy has luau nights once or twice per month during the summer that are super fun and you can attend whether you are staying at the hotel or not!)

We stayed in one of the SoHi suites between Xmas and New Year's. The view is spectactular and in general the room is large and comfortable. We had one of the rooms with 1.5 bathrooms and having the extra bathroom was very nice. However, the closet in the bedroom is in a challenging location that made it difficult to use the closet - it's very close to the bed and the door only opens part way so it was difficult to get in and out of the closet.
In general, the room was pretty quiet but there was some noise from the Holland Tunnel and from some construction going on nearby. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't the quietest experience, either.
The hotel is in a great location for exploring SoHo, the Village, and Tribeca. It is also really close to a lot of subway lines, so we were able to get to Times Square, Rockefeller Center, etc. pretty easily.
Continental breakfast was included in our room - it was adequate but nothing spectacular. We also had a light dinner in the room one night, and it was pretty tasty. Everything came within the promised timeframe.
Given the holidays, the hotel was very busy, and that meant fairly long waits for the elevators. If you are an impatient person, you may want to stay on a lower floor.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay there again.

Very mixed feelings about our trip. Hotel design, rooms, and views were amazing. Valet parking was expensive. Tacked on amenity fees were not valuable to us since we had no time to use the spa but still had to pay them. Multiple small service needs were not met to expectations for paying a high rate for a suite room. Requested in advance a mini-fridge in room..was not there...was told it would arrive in 5 minutes but waited 45 minutes for it to show up. Requested luggage rack service at checkout, was told it would be there in 5-10 minutes, waited 45 minutes then took care of it myself. Breakfast was delicious, but waited an hour for food to be served with a party of seven people. Would we go back? I'm not sure, would likely try another place to see if these service issues are hotel specific or not.

This is a luxury hotel for sure and you feel fancy here. The location is great, the staff are helpful, and the decor is attractive. Also the bed was EXCEPTIONALLY comfortable and the room service was quicker than most.
The bad news is that they really missed the mark with SMALL details, which somewhat ruined the experience for me.
My room was small, but that's to be expected in New York City. Two factors really negatively impacted my comfort and that was (1) how terrible the lighting was in the room and the bathroom and (2) there were no long hanging bars for a dress. Let me explain why these are problems and mainly problems for women. 1) The lighting was so poor, that I could not properly apply make up. Nor could I see well enough to pluck an eyebrow. The bathroom only had light on one side of the mirror so one side of the face was always shadowed and there was no built in magnifying mirror. I requested a 'light up magnifying mirror" - which was provided, but the light was not bright and I still had a really hard time seeing to pluck an eyebrow or put on make up. (I'm in my early 40s and I only wear glasses to read.) The only place to put the make up mirror was at the desk which was a dark dark cave between the two built in closets, so points deducted for nowhere to apply make up. The 2nd issue was the closet space. The closet bars were built in and the hanging rack was over a set of drawers, so the rack was only long enough for shirts or blazers. There was nowhere for a dress or even a longer skirt. And we were 2 women who had a gala to attend with gowns etc. We had to hang them on the back of the bathroom door where the robes are supposed to go and it really made it feel cluttered in the bathroom and my other dresses just got wrinkled because there was nowhere to hang them. If I were travelling alone, I would have requested some type of rolling rack to hang my gowns for the price we paid for the room, but my girlfriend already thought I was being high maintenance with the make up mirror so I just sucked it up and tried not to complain since she had picked the hotel. I guarantee you a man designed those rooms and gave no thought to women applying make up or hanging their clothes properly. Ladies, be warned.

Dear Meredith, Thank you for your recent stay, and we appreciate you reaching out to share your insightful comments. We're delighted to hear you enjoyed our wonderful location and accommodations, as well as the excellent hospitality our team provided. However, we're sorry to learn that we fell short of meeting all of your expectations and that you were disappointed with the hanging space for longer dresses, as well as the limited areas for applying make-up; your feedback is essential as we continually strive to provide our guests with a positive experience and we will certainly keep your suggestions in mind. We do have a variety of sized rooms and suites available with different amenities that may suit your needs better on another occasion. We're grateful for your constructive comments, and we hope to welcome you back the next time you're in the area. Justine McCleery, General Manager

Yesterday, I checked into The Dominick Hotel for a four-night stay for a special weekend with my partner. Having communicated the significance of this occasion via the property’s website concierge form, I was disappointed not to receive any response from the concierge team. I had booked through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts, expecting a room upgrade as part of the package.
During check-in, the front desk agent informed me that the available upgrade was to a low-floor room with no view, despite my having originally paid extra for a High Floor room with a view. I was told that if I wanted to upgrade to a room more in line with my original preferences, I would need to pay an additional $150 per night. In the moment, I opted to pay the extra fee since this weekend is important to us. However, looking back, I’m not sure it was entirely fair, given that an upgrade should have been included in my package.
I also mentioned to the front desk that I had reached out to the concierge to book a spa appointment but never received a response. I was assured someone would follow up with me, but unfortunately, that call never came, and we ended up booking elsewhere.
Despite these initial disappointments, the property itself is stunning, and the staff have been incredibly personable and friendly. Aside from these issues, the service has been wonderful. One small inconvenience has been the wait times for the elevators, sometimes up to 10-15 minutes, likely due to one being out of service.
On a brighter note, the doorman team has been exceptional, making us feel welcome and secure, and the breakfast this morning was fantastic. Our housekeeper has also been very sweet. We are still looking forward to the rest of our stay, though I do regret feeling the need to pay for an upgrade that seemed to be part of the package.

I could not rate this hotel any higher, our stay was perfect from arrival to departure. From the fabulous greeting we recieved from Gabriella, to the service at the pool, to the team on the front door, every single person went out of their way to make this trip memorable. The staff were friendly and genuinely could not have done more for you.
The rooms were fabulous (we stayed in 1805 which was a corner suite) and it was an amazing size for 2 friends, the double vanity was greatly appreciated and even making sure we were never out of coffee pods did not go unnoticed.
The location was also perfect, we were a short walk or uber from everywhere we wanted to go, the hotel was perfectly soundproofed so rooms were incredibly quiet and the hotel itself was really well appointed.
We were incredibly sad to leave and will most definitely be back. We would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting NYC.
ps the Ahi Nachos at El Takoy are devine.

Such great hospitality and environment! We looked forward each day to Stanley at the front greeting us - he even walked us 1 by 1 in the rain with an umbrella to our car. Our rooms were always cleaned upon our return throughout each day and the Diptyque soap/lotion was a luxurious touch. Would definitely recommend!

They will charge you extra but yes.
I stayed in a 1 bedroom suite and in the check out they waved the Wi-Fi fee.
I've never had a room without a door. They are slide doors. I have a suite with a pullout sofa
Sorry no idea
