Nestled in the heart of Manhattan, Royalton Park Avenue garners praise for its prime location, which offers guests a neighborhood feel and convenient access to major attractions. The hotel's rooftop pool and bar, with its stunning views, are popular among travelers, although some have pointed out overcrowding and management issues. Visitors frequently commend the beautiful atmosphere and clean, spacious rooms, yet service receives mixed reviews, with commendations for friendliness alongside criticisms for lack of responsiveness. While the cleanliness is consistently lauded, some guests voice concerns over value, citing hidden fees and room maintenance issues.

Great Location - Great Hotel topped off with a Rooftop Heated Outdoor Pool with views of Empire State Building. Great midtown location. Hotel clean and tidy with good size room.
Only disappointment was when booking. We booked for 3 Adults one of which was our 18 year old daughter and we’re told the room we booked (King room for 3 adults) did not guarantee a separate bed or even sofa bed!! (No double Queens were available) However, IF? A sofa bed was available on day of check-in then we could pay a nightly supplement🤔.
To ensure we DID have an extra bed we ended up upgrading to the Deluxe King. The room was large it’s a large bathroom with bath and separate shower cubicle and accommodated the sofa bed

I stayed at the Royalton Park Avenue for a business trip, spending 6 nights there. The experience was amazing. The hotel is very clean, the staff all lovely and helpful, the rooftop has an amazing view of the ESB and the cocktails good! I would definitely recommend and stay there again when I come back to NY

After reviewing several hotels in the area, we are glad that we settled on the Royalton Park Avenue property. The location was perfect for our mother-daughter retreat because we were able to walk about 30 minutes uptown or downtown to reach our shopping and restaurant destinations. Access to the subway stations when needed, was very convenient.

Upon check-in at 10 a.m the doorman, bellhop and front desk representative (Courtney) were very welcoming and knowledgeable with the area. Throughout our stay, they always acknowledged us when we left and returned to the hotel.

The housekeeping staff did an excellent job cleaning our room and supplying us with extra toiletries. Awesome service!

The fitness center is clean and offers two treadmills, one elliptical and two Peloton bikes, plus a small area for strength training. The only drawback is that the cardio area doesn't have any TVs to keep your mind off of your workout. If desired, you should take your own device.

I would definitely stay here again if the price is competitive and I highly recommend it to others who want a convenient, safe location with great service.

I stayed a night with friends last weekend. Just as we were checking out, after what we thought was a pleasant stay, the clerk charges the credit card and states that he will email the receipt without any additional information. We asked for a printed receipt, as it felt a bit rushed only to find that we were UNKNOWINGLY charged over $500 for a “smoking fee”. After telling the clerk that we do not smoke, he replied with “the sensors picked up on some kind of smoking”. We asked to speak to the manager, who was as helpful as the clerk. After repeatedly telling him that we do not smoke, but we have many heating devices working, he casually stated that it was possible that the sensors picked on that by accident. He was unable to provide us with the “registration waiver” we supposedly signed. A blank waiver stated that there is a $500 “refreshment fee “ if you smoke in the room. Easily enough, someone could have walked into our room right there and then and when they realized there was no smell of smoke or anything else in our room, they should’ve refunded us promptly. However, that was not an option. After countless attempts at trying to reach the manager, Bill Mehalco, no one returned any of our calls or messages. At this point it’s between them and the credit card company. Although it could have all been avoided. So, be ware and make sure you see your bill before you hand them your card!

This was my first time visiting New York so my partner wanted to make it special and book a luxury hotel located within walking distance of alot of the tourist attractions.
When we booked we saw it had a 5 star rating through booking.com so was very excited to see what it had to offer. In all honesty, although the rooftop pool and bar with a great view definitely had an aire of luxury but i struggled to find the 5 star rating anywhere else within the hotel. We stayed in a superior king room which was nice but nothing more than what you would get within a Premier Inn in the UK. Infact it was smaller than a premier Inn room. Our bed was comfy but very creaky, we only received 2 coffee pods which were espressos so unless you like these you're kinda stuck, saying that though, you can go and get a coffee from the bar area up to 10:30am for free but not ideal.

There was a mini bar stocked with various drinks, Also a tray with Crisps, cookies and chocolate. Now being a 5 star, you would think at least the confectionery would be in with the price of the room but no, if we were to have say the kit kat, it would have cost $12!!! Hence to say we didn't touch any!

You can't knock the location, it's in a great spot and a great bar just round the corner called Tavern 29, highly recommended.

Maybe 5 star standards are rated differently in New York to over here in the UK but next time I would rather stay further out and pay less for the same facilities if not better.

We ended up at the Royalton as it was the only hotel I could find for our visit with 2 beds in a room. What a stroke of luck!!

The staff from Countney at the front desk to the conciege team, doorman, restaurant staff, housekeeping and every other team member we interacted with made us feel not only like royalty but also like dear friends who had stayed with them many times. Their service was exceptional.

My teenage daughters were ecstatic with the rooms, the beds were divine, linens and bath robes made you feel like you were home. And the soaker bathtub heaven after a long day exploring the city. The rooms were spotless.

In case you forgot anything or get hungry or thirsty a well stocked tray and fridge offer most anything you could ask for right in the room (for a charge) suitable for teens or adults.

Room service was incredibly fast as well.

Next time we are in New York City I won't search at all for a hotel, this will be the first place I reach out too.

Thank you to everyone who made our stay totally wonderful!

P.S. Only tip is we had a bit of trouble finding the correct entrance door upon our arrival. The doorman of the building right next door was very helpful. :)

The room was pricy and several aspects were not functional (TV, toilet paper holder, shower head). For us, there was no 24 hour room service -- we tried to order at 11:30 PM and were told the kitchen was out of the only 2 items we were interested in. The pool looked great but we did not get a chance to use it. The room was large but sparsely outfitted. The restaurant servers and food preparation time were very slow, and the options limited, but the food was decent. The rooftop bar had a nice view, although I'm not sure if there was a patio (we were behind glass), and the restaurant had a really nice jazz/singing group performing on Saturday.

We had a great long weekend in NYC at this hotel. It was our first time staying here, and our usual hotel had really inflated rates for some reason, so we decided to try something new. The location turned out to be perfect, right in the middle of NoMad, but still walkable to the theatre district. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, particularly Michelle at the front desk. The concierge and bell staff in general are attentive without hovering, always ready to hold the door open or help you. They checked with us by text throughout the visit to make sure everything was going well. We had some trouble getting on the internet at first, but the person who answered the guest helpline gave us a different wifi network to try and then it worked great. In room dining was a great option for one rainy night with family, and the food was good and delivered on time. Unfortunately the weather did not let us enjoy the rooftop pool, but it looked very nice and we hope to use it next time. We will definitely be back.

3 Star Hotel Not 5

Pros: Staff is friendly
Cons:
Poor lighting in the room
No outlets by the bedside
Toiletries are attached to the shower and tub is separate. There are no toiletries for the tub and I had to request it.
Bathroom needs re caulking and pipes need replacing. Water was running yellowish and then turned to a light green.
The TV is facing the side of the bed which makes no sense. You would need to sit sideways to watch it.

Let's start with the location of the hotel, NOMAD area they called. accessible to everything, walking distance to flat iron building which madison square park is next to it. 5 to 10 mins walking to empire state, subway station green line #6 is literally 30 seconds walk, Mcdonalds is the same distance with the subway station. Bunch of bars in the neighborhood, Pizza spots as well. The hotel have pool on the rooftop, bar and lounge, in room dining service is 24 hours, oh I forgot one thing about the pool, whenever you guys travel with family and kids. The pool is open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM but for kids is only until 6:00 PM. They will tell you this hours upon checking in. The size or space of the room in this property is more spacious compared to other hotels in new york.

Now let's talk about service, Special mention to"PAUL" at the front desk. It was sunday night we arrived If I'm not mistaken. The moment that we checked he was alone and there was a short line and he was very busy, me personally could tell what is an exceptional or extraordinary, Outstanding service looks like when I can see one. I definitely got A keen eye for this certain people because I worked in the industry as well, I would say my whole life. (One guest was upset about charges such, one was waiting to check in as well and one is us.) now it's our turn. I asked him, how's your day going? He replied: We'll.. We have to keep breathing or else we will die. (Sarcasticly speaking) I laugh and said your right, Anyway, that wasn't a usual reply to a how's your day but I think i has a deeper meaning for him. He always smiles whenever we approach him. He recommended bunch of restaurants in the neighborhood on a different kind of cuisine. And gave us a complimentary room with. Terrace, Help us with some broadway show tickets. I wouldn't explain how exceptional he is but he was very helpful throughout our stay. Paul keep doing what you're doing, you will be rewarded one day!

I've never heard of a charge for an in-room coffee maker. If you don't see a sign, or an entry on the price list for the snacks in the room, then you should assume $0 (and complain if they try to charge you!)
