My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and could not have lacked for a thing. We had the Coronado Room, which is perfect location and you have your own private entrance to your room, You can park in the small parking lot right outside your room. The mattress and linens are sumptuous and a Keurig is provided so you can make your coffee any time without having to go to the main house. There is a mini kitchen with a microwave, small fridge and dishes,. Ann, the Innkeeper and owner is so accommodating and a very lovely person. She prepares the breakfast every morning and everything is prepared fresh...the fruits are fabulous and different every day and she bakes a different fresh muffin each morning along with warm hard boiled eggs, breads for toast, peanut butter and jelly along with cereal, orange juice and milk and course fresh HOT coffee....fabulous breakfast. There are several dining areas in the house, and outside, but we ate at the dining room table . Ann guided us on where to eat that was within walking distance of the B&B as we did not want to have to drive at night and fool with parking as the location is so close to all of the restaurants. Her recommendations of places to eat were right on and we enjoyed every place. Ann is also very good at drawing a map and giving you directions, This location is literally 7-10 minutes from the airport, zoo, harbor and Old Town. Location is perfect. We will definitely stay here again and will highly recommend to anyone that wants a warm and lovely place top stay in San Diego.

This was a very nice surprise. Stayed in the La Jolla Suite. Ann welcomed us on a Saturday late in the day and gave us the grand tour and took us to our room. First time ever staying here. Ann was super nice and the room was amazing. The bed was super comfy. The bathroom was to die for. Ann gave us dinner recommendations which we used and had a great dinner. The inn followed CDC Covid guidelines and gave us a very comfortable feeling. The bed was great and we loved opening the door to the false balcony to feel the cool air outside. Plenty of available parking. Would stay here again 1000x’s over.

I recently spent two nights in this lovely B&B prior to visiting friends who live in Temecula. From the moment I arrived, I was well taken care of by the interim caretakers, Anne and Bill. I arrived with a somewhat large suitcase as I had been on a prior trip to Northern Cali. Bill graciously took my heavy suitcase and carried up the flight of stairs to the beautiful suite (La Jolla Suite). The suite was spacious, with luxurious bedding, a sitting area and HUGE master bath and sunken tub. I appreciated the extras in the room (robes, Keurig coffee maker, mini fridge, overhead fan, hair dryer, etc. Coming from FL, I loved the suggestion of opening the windows to let the San Diego weather in! Within walking distance are so many restaurants, bars, etc. Downtown is a quick five minute Uber ride, and so is the zoo and Balboa Park. I enjoyed the continental breakfast. Didn’t have time to enjoy the cozy porch or my sunken tub, but wish I had, I highly recommend!

Our stay at Hillcrest House B&B from 02/14 - 02/16 was unforgettable all thanks to the innkeeper and owner Ann who made us feel at home from the second we arrived until the moment we left. Ann has operated the B&B for 17 years and over that time has curated a unique and fantastic place to stay located within steps of the bustling Hillcrest business district. We stayed in the La Jolla suite which has a luxurious bathroom equipped with an oversized shower with dual shower heads, a large jacuzzi tub which has room for two people, his and hers sinks, as well as soft towels and bathrobes. Ann provides a wholesome continental breakfast including homemade berry jam which is beyond delicious. And, to top it all off, the B&B and room was clean, tidy, and fresh which made us feel safe during these uncertain COVID times. Please do yourself a favor and book yourself a relaxing retreat at Hillcrest B&B. You will not be disappointed. I cannot wait to return to this amazing place !

Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay during Covid. The La Jolla Suite is by far our most popular room, with the 2 person jacuzzi tub. Travel during this time can be a challenge for all, and I'm glad you noticed our attention to cleaning details, to keep everyone safe and confident to travel more. Come back again soon! Cheers, Ann the Innkeeper at Hillcrest House B&B
