Absolutely love this vacation club. It’s located near the Boston harbor in downtown Boston. Walking distance to all the happening places in town. The staff are friendly. We took a building tour of the resort. There are so much history in this place. The observation deck gives the panoramic view of the city. Although the building was a 19th century custom house, but after Marriott transformed it into a vacation club, the room is spacious and modern. There are a lot of daily activities that are interesting. I’m so happy that I’m able to stay and enjoy my time at this special place.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Marriott Vacation Club Pulse at Custom House in Boston. The location is perfect to walk to historic sites including Quincy Market, Faneuil Hall, Old State House and more. It is also an easy walk to the North End and wonderful Italian restaurants. Check in was easy, associates were very welcoming and they quickly accommodated our request to have no steps in our suite (some suites have an upstairs bedroom loft). The lobby has been left in an original historic state but nicely appointed for a hotel. All associates for the hotel were friendly and helpful. Our suite was on the 8th floor. There were only a handful of suites on our floor and most floors as I understand. We entered into a beautifully appointed living area with living room, dining area (seating for 4) and kitchenette that included a microwave, fridge/freezer and kitchen items - glasses, plates, etc. There was a large TV and comfortable seating in this area - the couch is a sofa bed (we did not use as such.) The bedroom was large and comfortable, again with a TV. The bed and bedding were so comfortable. The bathroom had doors to the living and bedroom areas and included many towels and luxury hair and body products. Lighting was plentiful throughout the suite. The suite was spotless and perfect in every way. The furniture was not worn, room-darkening shade worked perfectly, carpet seemed new and bathroom fixtures were spotless and beautiful. Wifi was fast and free. We were relatively near the elevators and yet heard no noise while we were in the bedroom. Views were spectacular! We went up to the observation deck on the 26th floor both during the day and night and enjoyed the 360 degree views. There are many activities planned throughout the month - some free, including tours of the building and some for a small fee, including a tour of the North End restaurants that have food tastings. We were sorry not to have been able to participate in them due to our schedule. One thing would make this stay better - include the Continental Breakfast instead of charging a la carte. For the cost of the stay here, it really should be included or, at the very least, have one small fee that would include anything on the menu.…
When I visited, the concierge, Monika, was incredibly helpful and helped me create memory a of Boston that I won't forget. When assisting me she was incredibly kind and was working with a smile when helping.
We've been MVC owners for 14 years, and have stayed at several of the properties. This one is by far our favorite. We enjoyed it so much that we booked a week for next year as soon as we got home. The location is incredibly convenient, with a lot of historic sites, the New England Aquarium, T stations, Quincy Market, etc. a short walk away. The North End, with a huge number of tempting restaurants (and Friday farmer's market), is just a 10-minute walk -- not long enough to burn off the calories. The staff is unfailingly polite, friendly, incredibly helpful, and just plain fun . They are very professional, yet treat guests like family. Kudos to the hiring manager!! As for the villa -- we were on the 9th floor, and never heard a peep from anyone in adjoining rooms or walking down the hall. That's a rare occurrence in a vacation property. The room is also incredibly comfortable, has plenty of space, and feels like a home away from home. There are even free laundry facilities, a movie room, game room, and bar/breakfast room on the property. We can't wait to go back.…
What an incredible experience. To stay in a historical landmark in downtown Boston. Everything is in walking distance. The views from the room was incredible. The view from the top floor was spectacular. Highly recommend. Will definitely come back. Thanks to the staff for all of the recommendations and for making our Boston visit memorable.
It is not often that I want to spend money on a high-dollar hotel, but our stay at the Custom House was worth every penny! The location was fabulous and the scheduled events were fun. We asked for recommendations and not only did they give us great ideas, but also made arrangements for us. Boston is amazingly walkable, and the Custom House made it convenient to walk all around the city.
We got 2nd floor at the corner of State St & India St. There seems to be continuous low frequency noise from a motor or generator or heater upstairs. Since we are staying for 2 nights, I am just using an ear plug but it does not help. It is hard to sleep! Also my wife gets annoyed by the smell of the pillows like big smelly men slept the night before.
I have lived in Boston my entire life and I booked a week here last minute because I was so interested in seeing what it was like. It far exceeded my expectations! It's wonderful in every way! We walked into the beautiful, historic lobby and we were immediately impressed by the rotunda. It felt like a museum. The staff was great...friendly and nice. The room was very very clean and I loved the decor. The king size bed was comfortable and the enormous windows offered us a nice view of the city. The room was spacious and the little kitchenette was well equipped. The gym is so much nicer than many hotel gyms and I had it to myself every time I went in. It was perfect. There is a game room where you can see the actual inner workings of the Custom House clock. It's really cool to see the numbers from the inside. The best of the best is the 26th floor! What an incredible view!! This is the hidden gem of Boston. There were only one or two people up there at the most every time we went up. It had nice music piped in and felt so private. It's just amazing! You can't beat the location. It's close to everything. You can walk to almost anyplace you'd want to go or hop on the MBTA. Definitely take a walk along the Harborwalk. I was so sad to leave this unique and beautiful property! If I ever get the chance to stay here again, I will in a heartbeat. …
What a great place to stay while in Boston! The 1 BR suite was clean, and the mini kitchen was well equipped. The bed is comfortable. The dining table seats 4 comfortably, and the living room has a sofa bed and an arm chair. The a/c unit cooled the unit unevenly, but it was okay. There are lots of outlets including USB ports. There is a fitness center and a complimentary laundry. The 26th floor observation deck provides majestic views of the city and the harbor. It is windy up there, however. There is no mid-week housekeeping, but there is daily towel exchange and trash removal. The housekeeping staff is wonderful. The front desk and concierge staff make you feel so welcome, and are sensitive to any needs you may have. The valet parking is $48/day but that is not outrageous for the area. They offer in-and-out privileges, but the resort is in such a convenient place (right outside the T station - blue line) that you can walk or take transportation to most of the tourist attractions in the city. The resort offers various social events, including tastings of local offerings (boston cream pie, dark chocolate, whiskey, local beers), and music a couple night a week including a free cocktail of the day. The breakfast is continental, not great and not cheap. There are so many other places to eat. You are steps away from Quincy Market, and a short walk to the North End's Little Italy (where the pastry shops, Paul Revere's house, North Church and so many restaurants are). They ran a food tour of the North End, where the group walks and visits places to sample pizza, Italian hero, gelato and pastry. For $12 it is a bargain. The building itself is beautiful and historical. They give tours telling the history of the Custom House. The harbor is a short walk. We took the T ferry to Charlestown to visit the USS Constitution and Bunker Hill. I would definitely recommend this resort, and hope to return again.…
My wife booked this and didn't tell me the cost. I would have balked. Now having experienced it, I can see it was worth the money. It's good to have the space the suite provides especially now that the kids are teens and want to spread out. We played billiards and chess in the game room. We didn't get around to trying to continental breakfast. We ate at Quincy Market every morning instead. The view atop the hotel at Sunset is well worth your time.
