Had a great stay here while downtown to see a show. The location really can’t be beat with easy self-parking across the street. Rooms are “big city tiny” but ours was clean and modern. We were given a room facing away from some of the noise issues others have reported. Price would have been expensive for what we got, but since we were staying on points it felt like a really great value for the point total. Have already booked again to return.
My friend flew in from the Netherlands and I flew in from Seattle and we had an absolutely fantastic stay at the Courtyard in Downtown Boston! What gorgeous historic hotel and what a great group of employees!! Wow Wow Wow!! From the moment that we arrived everyone was so kind, accommodating and made sure that we felt at home. From Edward behind the bar, Michael at the breakfast restaurant, from the ladies and gentlemen at the reception to the GM John, to Nash behind the bar who understand that when you travel for 8 hours and skip the night you need some caffeine to make it through the day. Our room was great with beautiful views over Boston! And Carmalia makes the best egg white Omelets, or whatever you like! She is so kind and is always smiling! The hotel is downtown, and we walked everywhere. Everyone gave us great suggestions from shopping, art, museums to restaurants and bars! We hope that we can make this our annual trip and will definitely be back at this hotel. Thank you so much for making our stay special! If I could, I would give you 6 stars!…
Poor room, very basic . No safe in the room. tiny refrigerator on the floor, view of parking garage. The AC was very poor, either cold or hot. One of the worst hotel for the money we paid . The fitness room is a JOKE. The only good thing was the location.
We received a friendly welcome on arrival. We were allocated a fantastic room on 15th floor. Very spacious and well equipped . Ice machine facility on our floor. The hotel is well located for Boston Common, Quincy Market and restaurants etc The hotel had a shop on ground floor selling snacks & drinks.
This Courtyard was fantastic. I think some of the reviews are for the other Courtyard location because the pictures don't match. Or maybe they renovated? Anyway, I was here for 5 days for a conference. My room was pretty clean considering some hotels haven't been up to par in that area since the pandemic started. Wi-Fi was always working. I could watch cable in the evening. Had enough space for my huge suitcase and conference materials. Plenty of outlets for all of my gadgets. The room was spacious enough, IMO but it might have felt cramped if I was traveling with another person. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very friendly and professional. The 15th floor has a lot of history, it was interesting to read while grabbing some water. There is also a mini laundry area up there (takes cards). The entire building has a lot of history honestly. I'm taking off 1 star for the food options. Which, maybe isn't really a big deal because I don't think courtyard's are known for their cuisine. The coffee at the bar was pretty bad as well. Very close to Chinatown, the Wang Theater, the Public Garden, and so much more. I could have walked to the convention center which was only 1 mile away. North End was about a 20 minute walk. But it was a bit too cold for that. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again.…
Arrived during Halloween weekend and with the hotel being located near the University area it was extremely lively, especially on the first night. Hotel check-in was ok, guy wasn’t extremely helpful but I was tired after a long trip so no small talk worked for me. The room was very clean, large and well stocked with towels. The bed was really comfy. The hotel is right by a T stop and really close to the common and Downtown Crossing. I loved the history wall and the fact the hotel allows dogs.
Great trip! Jalen at the Courtyard Marriot was so helpful with the room! Walking distance, everything is walking!! Went to Salem was awesome, recommend the witch museum before the walking witch tour, then we understood more of the history.
Initial impressions are good when you check in. The lobby is lovely. Classic old building. Staff is friendly and helpful. This is the reason the review is three starts, not two. But the room I got was a huge letdown. Average would be a compliment. 1. The hotel is shaped like a V with the two wings of the hotel very close together. The rooms on the inside of the hotel have a lovely view of the HVAC machines and other guests' hotel rooms should they leave their window shades open. And the hotel has given you a choice of either blackout curtains, or a black sunshade which is wildly effective at turning your hotel room into a basement apartment with one tiny window. You have a choice, no privacy, or no natural light. This is true for almost half of the hotel's rooms. This is a design issue - not the hotel's fault really. But you can avoid it by staying at a hotel that is better suited for hotel rooms. 2. The room is spartan and depressing. One entire wall is barren except for a TV in a frame. I don't know if this is just a sign of fiscal cheapness, or a conscious minimalist design decision, but the result is a room that feels far smaller than it really is. Especially if you choose privacy and not natural light (see above). It is simply not pleasant - in fact, just the opposite. It feels small and a bit oppressive. 3. Fittings: The room's dresser looks like a built in at a Motel 6 from the 1970s. In fact, that whole part of the room screams this was a cheap hotel before joining the Courtyard brand, and we didn't know what to do with it, so we left it. 4. Work area: This is one place where the room is better than many. The desk is bigger than the elevated narrow bench that Marriott seems to think is awesome in their business hotels. . 5. Bathroom: Far better than the room as a whole. But the polished stone floor of the shower is so slippery, you have to be very careful not to fall. I won't be staying here again. Fortunately, there are many other options. But if you do get stuck here, try to get on the outside of the V, not the inside.…
Spent nearly $900 for two nights. The room was incredibly small, there wasn’t even a mini fridge. The second night the fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, but was never told what caused the alarm to go off. This hotel was not worth the money and would love a refund.
The hotel was adequate but oddly impersonal. Confusingly the breakfast was a very limited menu and waiter service on the first day, but a modest buffet on the other two. We were due to hire a car from the second day but postponed that due to the lack of parking options. However it was nice and close to the parks and the trolley bus route.
