Hotel- Kimpton Onyx Date- January 2021 (2 nights) Overall: 5/5. Excellent. This is another great Kimpton property; we will surely be back. Rewards Club Recognition- 5/5. Excellent. When we arrived, we were thanked for our loyalty, and our room was upgraded. As Kimpton Inner Circle members, we also were provided with a morning newspaper, and our welcome amenity matched our loyalty club preferences exactly. Staff- 5/5. Excellent. I spoke with Jessica on the phone prior to our arrival, and in addition to the information she gave us about how the hotel is operating during the pandemic, she ensured our room was out of service for 72 hours prior to our stay. Vince welcomed us to the hotel and checked us in to our room, and Ali made it a point to check in on us to make sure we had everything we needed. My spouse really enjoyed the interaction with Jessica he had on our second day; her engagement was memorable. I’d like to thank the staff for their kindness and attention to detail. Property Appearance & Maintenance- 5/5. Excellent. Exterior- The hotel entrance was clean, and the hotel was well branded. Key card access was necessary to enter the building. Interior- The lobby was a bit small but was stylish and inviting. Hallway carpets were spot free, and there were few to no scuff marks on the corridor walls. All lighting was operational. Accommodations- 5/5. Excellent. We were assigned a “One King Bed Premier” room. The room had the usual furnishings: bed, nightstands, closet, chair, desk, tv…, and they were all in good repair. The lamp shades had a few spots on them, and a small section of carpeting was damaged; otherwise, the room met all expectations. We felt secure with the extra key access door separating the rooms from the elevator. Housekeeping- 5/5. Excellent. The room was quite clean. Toiletries such as towels, soap, shampoo, tissues, & toilet paper, were all provided in a quantity adequate for the length of our stay. Pool/Gym- Not evaluated. A fitness center is located on the B level. Breakfast/Meal Options- 3/5. Average. During the pandemic, like in most cities, all restaurants and food services are discontinued. The minibar contents had been removed from the room. However, a small ‘bodega’ was present at the front desk, from which small snacks and beverages could be purchased. Social/wine hour was suspended, but morning coffee was available at the front desk (or a Keurig machine could be requested for in the room.) Laundry- Not evaluated. Computer/Printer/WiFi- 5/5. Excellent. WiFi signal was strong, and streaming was smooth. Other- Sanitizing stations were present all throughout the hotel, and the staff consistently wore masks and kept the appropriate distance from guests and one another. High touch items, such as throw pillows and pencil/paper had been removed from the room. Laundered and sanitized robes were available for those who would like them. Overall, we felt safe and that we made the right choice for our family.…
Overall enjoyed my stay! Found this hotel via a 3rd party booking service at a great price. Stayed two nights over the weekend. Staff was amazing, very customer service friendly. Had a king size bed, decent size room, updated, clean. Housekeeping stopped by even and asked if I needed new towels or refreshed trashed. Their bar/restaurant was closed at the time of my visit. I will note that their water pressure of the shower & faucet wasn’t great at all. Hot water, just very lower pressure. Could also use a more comfortable mattress. I’d stay here again for the price.
This hotel is in a great location, and you can easily walk to many bars, stores, tourist sites, and public transportation. Our room was clean and the beds were super comfortable! The hotel had a happy hour each night and they provided wine to all hotel guests, which was a nice touch. The staff were very friendly and were willing to help with anything that you needed. There was a hand sanitizer station in the lobby and in the elevator. I liked the ability to text the front desk with any requests and questions. The room was quiet. The only bad thing about the hotel was that some of the furniture in the hotel was ripped when we checked in, so I would not expect that if I paid a higher price.
This hotel was an awesome stay and the amenities were amazing, but if I’m being honest, the real perk of staying at this hotel was Vince at the concierge! He’s a real asset for the hotel. He was amazing, accommodating and his customer service was out of this world. And he catered to all of our plethora of needs, with grace and poise, he and the other staff here were very friendly and helpful! I appreciate them all. Thank you again guys, it was awesome staying with you guys! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 Definitely a place to stay when you’re in Boston!
The hotel is close to everything in Boston and the staff is absolutely amazing. You are walking distance to many attractions and we felt that we didn’t miss having a rental car during our 4 day trip. The hotel was clean and comfortable and I would highly recommend it to everyone!
