Great stay at this hotel. Upon arrival, valet parking and check-in was efficient (much appreciated after an 8-hr drive in the rain!). The room (corner, city view, king bed) was very comfortable - plenty of room for 2 people for the week, clean, comfy bed, comfy chair. We were on the 9th floor and it was almost eerily quiet with the curtains closed - almost couldn’t believe we were in the middle of a major city! But, in the middle of everything we were. The location of this hotel could not be more perfect. It’s basically next to Boston Common, walking distance to many of the historic landmarks, close to 2 different subway stations to easily get to everything else, and an Insomnia Cookies is right around the corner. 🙂 There are lots of bars and restaurants in the area as well. Staff was great - each and every time we came ‘home,’ the front desk staff welcomed us back (small gesture, but oddly comforting). And, we were greeted with smiles from the rest of the staff as well. Our new favorite place to stay in Boston - we will definitely be back.…
My stay was amazing! The staff is very attentive and friendly. Rachel and Migel are wonderful and would go above and beyond to assist with any inquiries you may have. They made my stay wonderful. Also, the location of the hotel is perfect and the rooms are nice and clean with wonderful city views.
Nice hotel in a convenient location to explore Boston. Our family had 2 premium rooms with 2 Queens in each, which included a view of the city. Beds were comfortable, but the heater was very loud turning on and off each night. You could also hear other guests talking in the hallway. There is no room service available but the hotel does have a restaurant with a limited food menu for breakfast and dinner. Staff was helpful and courteous and we would definitely stay here again.
Great location for tourist visits. Across from Boston Commons, Granary Burial Grounds and the Freedom Trail. Very quiet. Typical Kimpton boutique hotel with the morning coffee (7:00 am) and wind-down wine. Excellent front desk and housekeeping staff. Views to the Charles and the bay from the upper floor rooms. Excellent wifi. The T is a two minute walk for public trans. Lots of restaurants in the area.
We love staying at the Kimpton! We always have a good time! The Kimpton nine zero was no exception! The staff is is so nice and also treated our dogs so well! They give them such love and attention! Furthermore, it's a beautiful well kept hotel! Alex and Mike were absolutely amazing and gave our pups all the love and attention they could want! We will always stay at the Kimpton when we're traveling with our pups!
Had a mini-vacation this past weekend. The hotel was perfect. The manager and front desk were welcoming, friendly, and responsive to all inquiries. The room was very comfortable and due to booking with a travel-agent were were able to get a room upgrade with an amazing view. I really enjoyed the happy hour and even though we didn't bring the dogs, seeing how dog friendly the hotel was a happy plus. Would recommend and would stay there again.
this hotel is all about the location, great city view and the excellent performance of the staff. Special mention to Alex, Liz, Rilli and the very accommodating valet staff. I am a very loyal Kimpton guest. This team is among the best i have encountered.
I really wanted to like this hotel, so bummed it fell short. There is a STRONG need for customer service training. Our check-in, while pleasant, was not well informed. Our check out - well, someone came out to attend to us with a mouth full of food and apologized because we caught her mid-breakfast. So odd. and unprofessional. The rooms are a decent size, but closets are tiny and there was only one luggage rack - I asked for another one at the front desk, and they forgot. They kept sending me texts about my stay, and so I reminded them about the rack, but asked them not to bring it as we were going to take a nap. Then they replied they would bring it right up -despite my asking them not to. Again, just the customer service angle was off. The location of the hotel is fantastic, but the downside is the bar has really limited hours - opens at 5pm on a Saturday afternoon, and closes at 10:30pm. It made it impossible to have an afternoon drink after sightseeing, or to have a nightcap after dinner. There are plenty of watering holes in Boston, for sure, but sometimes you want the hotel bar. Perhaps all of this can be chalked up to not enough staff and trouble finding help. Everyone was very nice though. I should mention we had good service for breakfast Sunday - attentive and pleasant. Just overall, I expected more from a Kimpton.…
Overall, when it comes to special occasion stays, I always worry whether or not it'll be a good experience but Brian (GM) and the team (Shirley & Liz) made this a memorable experience for my husband and I, so for that I would highly recommend. Check-in: We checked in on a Friday evening and it was a little busy with only one front desk agent available for check in but the wait was not longer than 5 minutes for us to be helped. We made sure to use the "social password" for Kimpton and were able to score a $20 raid the bar credit! Hotel Room: We were in 1805 which was a Corner King with a skyline view and it was an amazing view that the pictures do not do justice for how great it is. The Eames chair in the room was nice accent to the room. The bathroom was very modern and updated with marble, which I really appreciated. Service: Absolutely incredible! Everyone was accommodating and friendly, also acknowledged the special occasion we were celebrating and welcoming us as it was our first time in Boston. Gym: The gym was a bit lacking here but included all the basic equipment to get a workout done. I would've liked to see a set of 5 lb weights on the weight rack, but not too big of a deal. Thank you Brian, Shirley, and Liz for making this experience so amazing! Highly recommend this property if you are visiting Boston.…
Honestly, i'd pass. I thought the hotel would be a lot nicer than it was. I get what it was trying to do with the rooms, but they were so dark and poorly lit it felt like an obstacle course and our room was dirty as well. The vent in the bathroom was covered in caked on dust, the tables could have used a wipe as well. Biggest issue was the shower leaked like crazy and leaked all the way around the bathroom through the bottom of the shower door. It created a crazy safety hazard and you could see staining on the floor and shower tile from where the leak was taking place. Also, i paid for a room which also had a desk for working from, no desk to be found and when i brought it up to the manager at front desk "some rooms are different"... ok? I did email my concerns through their survey and just got back a generic message, which i expected. What i should have gotten was a discount on a room with a safety hazard and not furnished as advertised. I'm in Boston a fair bit and was hoping this would be a good spot to land each time, i'm thinking no.…
