Where do I start? From the moment myself and my Fiancée arrived at the hotel to the moment we left everyone was super friendly and could not do enough for us. It was like staying with friends. The hotel public areas are beautiful and well maintained as was our glorious room. We arrived by bus and train and the stop for the hotel is about 100 yards from the station, ultra handy. For our return journey we took an Uber which was about a 15 journey and the excellent price of $20.
We were staying over the holiday weekend to celebrate my fiancées birthday and on arrival there was the most delicious personalised birthday cake and a lovely card. I’ve travelled to Boston around 8 times now and stayed in a number of hotels but I can say without hesitation this is the best I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. Special mention. Special thanks to Joyce, Agnes and Daryna who were super friendly and attentive and not forgetting Rob who I could have talked all day about areas of mutual interest :)
The only sad part of the stay was having to leave :(

I found The Whitney Hotel Boston via some online publications (Condé Nest) which recommended it as one of the best in Boston. My experience did not disappoint.

The Whitney’s architecture and feel blend seamlessly with the classic facades of historic Beacon Hill. Walking out of the hotel and onto Charles street you are immediately immersed in what is easily the nicest part of Boston. You feel like you are renting an apartment, more than you are at a stay at a hotel. (No large chain vibes here) The lobby is modern, intimate and inviting. The staff and service is top notch, always welcoming guests as they arrive and sending them off with smiles.

The rooms are clean and modern, a mixture of crisp white and grey with deep blue accents, black metal fixtures gives the Whitney a truly unique esthetic.

There is literally nothing that I can pick out that would be a negative in my opinion. The Whitney is truly an exceptional choice. A MUST stay.

Wow! We booked a weekend getaway at the Whitney in March 2021 and could not have been more pleased with the property, location, and especially hotel service. Ryan and the entire concierge team went above and beyond to arrange a private tour, spa trip, and provide excellent restaurant recommendations. With all the uncertainty of travel during covid, we needed a 'guide' to get us through and the Whitney team did this and then some. The hotel is immaculately clean, nicely decorated and had probably the best hotel bed we've ever slept in. The location cannot be beat - directly across the street from Charles T station making trips over to Cambridge super easy and cheap. There's a 24-hour CVS also across the street for getting drinks, snacks, or extra hand sanitizer these days! We cannot wait to return to this hotel and can't imagine staying anywhere else in Boston. Hats off to Ryan and the entire Whitney team during these challenging times!

We are frequent visitors to Boston/Cambridge and have stayed at 5 other hotels in the area.
Whitney Hotel has fresh new updated designs including wide corridors and exudes a calm and elegant ambiance.
It has superb staff, and special thanks to Ryan Wilson (Front Office Manager) for making our first stay an outstanding experience.
The Peregrine restaurant's quality and staff are top notch, and we want to thank the friendly and professional staff Kevin and Katrina.
The hotel has convenient location right in town (next to the Charles St/MGH T station)
and is great for browsing on Charles St, the Public Gardens and Commons,
and the Esplanade riverfront walking trail with superb views.
The only reason that it's 4-stars review is the city location has some traffic/siren/HVAC external system noise, however the new wing's windows are very sound insulating so it's as good as it can be given the location.

We highly recommend Whitney Hotel and hope to return soon.

Besides all the obvious wonderful things I will say about this lovely boutique hotel, location, service, charm, this hotel goes above and beyond to make you feel safe from the moment you walk in, providing masks, wipes, and room was immaculate. The staff is friendly, went above and beyond to accommodate us with our pooch, from offering treats to finding local restaurants that would allow us to dine outside w/ him in tow. Valet was wonderful, car was available when needed. Location is perfect, you can walk along the Charles, enjoy the local streets, walk over the bridge to Cambridge, the perfect walker's starting point. No other place to stay in Boston in our book now that we've stayed here!

Having stayed at about four or five Boston properties to date (usually for just one night, while transiting through BOS), I have gained a little perspective. This hotel was a four night splurge, starting on Christmas Eve, in celebration of my recent uprooting and self inflicted transplantation from a far off, warmer state.
The decor was just to my taste, understated yet luxurious. The bedding was up to my standard, née Bloomies or Restoration. The bathroom was crisp and modern.
I ate at the restaurant downstairs for several meals, and found it to be quite tasty, albeit pricey (typical of hotel eateries, of course).
The gym was small but sufficient.
Of course I liked Charles Street and environs, I’m told it’s pretty much the priciest neighborhood in Boston.
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and professional.
The only problem was, the room I was in was near the elevator, and the noise emanating from it bothered me. (They changed me once, and with no problem, but I didn’t want to move again). However, in this noisy city, this was the quietest hotel I’ve stayed at.

I stayed at the Whitney Hotel while my husband had surgery at Mass General Hospital. The hotel's location was perfect for me: a short walk to the hospital, in the lovely Beacon Hill area, close to the Charles River. The staff were friendly, professional, and accommodating; I had requested a fridge, and it was awaiting me in my room when I arrived. They let me check in early and were very flexible at allowing me to extend my stay night by night as my husband needed to spend more time than anticipated at the hospital. My room was spotless, quiet, and tranquil. It had big windows that seemed pretty soundproof since no street noise bothered me.
The room had a Nespresso machine, a great shower with a handheld attachment, and a nice big TV. It also came with a Covid kit of wipes, mask, and hand sanitizer. This is a fantastic hotel that I hope to revisit someday under happier circumstances.

I stayed at The Whitney Hotel this past weekend with my family for my adult daughter’s birthday. This sparkling new boutique hotel literally has it all! The hotel and the rooms are stunning and are decorated with a beautifully modern elegance while being extremely comfortable, inviting and so quiet! Every staff person we met, from the front desk to the waiters to the housekeepers were all so friendly and extremely accommodating. A very special mention to Agnes Hayes who arranged our rooms as well as a beautiful (& delicious) birthday cake in our room for my daughter along with an iced bottle of Prosecco which were both totally unexpected and greatly appreciated. And, Frank the valet who handled all requests & questions in a very friendly & professional manner. The hotel location on Charles Street is absolutely perfect because you’re right on the main street of quaintly special Beacon Hill with its charming English-looking streets and architecture and it’s great stores and restaurants. All this while being right next to the Charles River Esplanade where, in minutes, we went numerous times over to the beautiful walking/jogging path that runs along the scenic Charles River. This hotel has that very rare combination being gorgeously decorated, superbly staffed and perfectly located and we literally cannot wait to go back to stay at The Whitney.

My wife and I had tickets to the symphony and decided to make a weekend of it. A friend had recommended The Whitney and I'm so glad she did. The front desk staff were top notch and took great care of us. The decor in the lobby and the rooms is warm and welcoming and the room...Room 203 (fairly sure it's "The Melville Suite") has a view of the river, but the room itself is the highlight. The bed is so comfortable, the bathroom has a huge clawfoot tub next to a spacious shower, and the faux fireplace is full of fat, decorative electric candles that glow after dark, providing a romantic atmosphere (and lighting your way if you need to get up during the night to visit the bathroom). We'd valeted our car and left our luggage with the front desk after checkout so we could wander the city. The neighborhood is cozy and full of choices for restaurants. We had breakfast at Tatte Bakery just down the street and loved it, then went and walked the public gardens and Newbury Street. The location allows for easy arrival and departure, as it's right off Storrow Drive, and next to a T station. When we returned from wandering, we handed the front desk our valet and luggage tickets and before we knew it, our car was out front *with the luggage and two bottles of water already in the car and ready to go.* Talk about service. My wife and I are already planning to make regular return trips to The Whitney just to relax and enjoy Boston in a way we rarely have in the past.

If you are planning to visit Boston, MA, then I would highly recommend The Whitney Hotel. This exquisite boutique hotel is located right at the heart of the beautiful parks and dining.
When my wife and I entered The Whitney Hotel, we were greeted by Kim, who kindly gave us a chance to get situated in our room.
The pretty cool vibe and chic decor really impressed us to the max. Entering the room, we were given a beautiful cake, celebrating my wife's anniversary. We met on a bus stop we both missed, and on the cake, the pastry chef drew in a little bus. It touched our hearts.
We were introduced to Marina Aslanidou, the general manager of The Whitney Hotel. She made everything just perfect. Sharing with us some of the awesome places to dine and walk. Her kindness made it special. The staff, Sam and Ryan, and others, made us feel so welcomed.
The restaurant inside the hotel is very good. All kinds of cuisine make it a definite must.
The room was spacious and bright. Our bed was so comfy and plush. While the room was really nice and quiet, we felt there was life outside.
For everyone concerned about Covid-19, The Whitney Hotel staff were very on point by spraying and wiping the areas around. We were happy that they took strong precautions in keeping us as safe as possible.

I am a little confused as to the the travelers question as well. I think the previous two advisors answered properly. If it is the state policy you question it is best to contact them. If it is the hotel I am sure they will respond quickly. Perhaps you are confused by some of the posted advise but in that case you may need to check the posting dates as they may be pre June 2021 and not apply.
