We were due to check in today to this apartment but unfortunately a medical emergency in the family meant that we had to cancel just 2 weeks ago....... we advised and requested a refund on compassionate grounds.....we were advised that there would be no refund.... now on their website I can see they are fully booked so they have rented the apartment again..... a nice additional income for them.... this is clearly not a business with compassion...... the other hotels and apartments we booked in Washington, New York and Toronto have either refunded in full or part which we really appreciate... when we do manage to make our trip to boston we will certainly not stay here...
Booking was smooth, however the apartment we were in is nothing like the pictures. Luckily the apartment was lovely anyway. It is very loud at night, I guess due to the location, but as the AC unit is half in and half out the window (seems to be like this a lot of places in the US) it made it very loud and very cold. I had to sleep with a hat on! Location is great though and we had no other issues whilst there.
Our suite was in a wonderful neighbourhood of Brown Stone buildings. We were on the sixth floor and the small lift was adequate. Bathroom was spotless, and the kitchen was well equipped except for the lack of a plug for the sink, a tea towel, and had insufficient tablets for the dishwasher. A couple of light globes needed replacing. Using door codes to get into the building and into our suite was efficient. We enjoyed our stay.
We stayed at this accommodation for two nights and it was almost impossible to get sleep. The air conditioning was extremely loud, so was the freezer that sounded like a helicopter. It was unbearably hot during these days and the air conditioning was only for the living room. Upon our arrival the heating in the bedroom was on, so we spent the first night on the couch. The place was also not very clean and we found hair from different people in the kitchen sink and on the moldy shower curtain. For this price, we were really disappointed. Too bad, the area is really pretty and the location great for tours. Size is also okay.
Recent stay in unit 6f. Faces front of Beacon Street is 3 bedroom & 2 bathroom. Has older elevator for use or stairs. The elevator is very compact and dated. We used the stairs mainly. Location is great, good size apartment in an older building that has been remodeled. Has some quirks due to age of building. Could be somewhat difficult with really young kids and elderly as there are multiple steps/levels in the apartment. These would be in the living area and 2 upstairs bedroom. Two notable nuisances are the windows in both upstairs bedrooms that do not have window coverings on them. The light/sun starts coming in the early hours which is very bright so an eye sleep mask would be recommended. The other is the air conditioning which is tricky to set as there is one thermostat regulating the up and downstairs. We found that upstairs was warm at times but the downstairs too cold. For the most part we would stay again, if not just for the location. Keep in mind this is an older building, so some modern aesthetics will not be present. Host was accommodating when additional towels were requested. …
The best, maybe the only, positive thing about this rental on 113 Beacon Street is the location. But, we found the building very poorly maintained. No one had taken a vacuum cleaner to the hall carpets in weeks, if not months. The elevator is prehistoric and marked with grafitti carved into the wood. the actual apartment had a number of issues: windows did not work, bureau was broken and had to be replaced, no clothes hangers, one closet was missing a hanging rack, and one wall had a huge gouge taken out. Easily repaired, but no one cared enough to do it. Suggest the next person renting bring a roll of duck tape to keep out the drafts from the windows. Most annoying of all is that the pictures shown on the website had no relation to the actual unit we rented.
Located in a beautiful neighbourhood, the apartment was a bit old but very well furnished, clean and comfortable. Very well equipped kitchen. I would definitely recommend Inn Boston Reservation. I recently stayed in another property of theirs, and I'm still very well impressed with the service, locations and value for money.
This was the perfect spot for our annual girlfriends' weekend in Boston. We stayed in the unit that is pictured here. Ask for unit PHR which is the rear penthouse on the top floor. The front penthouse does not have the same panoramic window view of the city. The large unit is great for a group. The apartment was in a beautiful brownstone located in the Back Bay section of Boston just around the corner from charming Beacon Hill. The location was absolutely ideal. Close to just about everything. Very walkable to the Theater District, the Boston Public Garden & Boston Common, Newbury and Boylston Street shopping, the Prudential Center and Copley Square. The unit itself was a little quirky but that was part of its charm. The kitchen was well equipped and three bathrooms for five women was heaven. The noise level from the other penthouse could be a problem for some. There was a loud group staying in the other penthouse. The noise really didn't bother us too much but I know it bothered other guests on the floors below.…
Close to the Boston Commons, restaurants, Newbury Street, and the T, this brownstone is the heart of all things quintessentially Boston that left us feeling like we experienced the city like a local. The Penthouse has sweeping views of the city from both the living room windows and all three of the bedrooms. The spacious, open floor plan of the first floor made us forget we were in a city (if not for the view!). The gas stove in the kitchen was a nice touch and we found all the barware we needed for a special birthday weekend. Highly recommend these apartments if you're looking for a true Boston experience outside of a traditional hotel.
We stayed here with our daughter and her family and it was really an experience to stay in an old Victorian Brownstone in the Back Bay Area. Our grandkids thought the old elevator was fascinating. It reminded them of the one in the Titanic. We stayed in the Penthouse which had huge windows and a great view. The Master bedroom was good size but the other two bedrooms were small. But that is how homes were built in the 1800's. The location was fantastic and we walked all over. Charles Street is only a couple blocks away with many stores and restaurants. We are from the midwest were single family houses are the norm so to experience life in the Back Bay with all the Brownstones was quite an experience for us, so much better than a hotel. Ferne and her staff were great to work with. We would definetly recommend this property.…
