This is a lovely hotel with top notch staff. The rooms are very comfortable. If you desire, you can book a room with a wood burning fireplace. You call and they will come set and light the fire for you. It’s especially nice on a cold winter night. The hotel is also perfectly located.

We will say that the Lenox has become a favorite since Covid; we like it. Saturday that changed. We love the Dorchester in London, the Sacher in Vienna and the Hay Adams in Washington; yesterday the Lenox became the best hotel we can choose. Normally our reviews centered around their staff as they excel, whether the young men when you arrive, the friendly staff at the desk or Vinny who lays our fires, everyone at the Lenox is friendly and professional. Saturday we heard one of those obnoxious announcements over the public address system. No worries, more will follow if needed. It did, we had to leave. Because of the way this was addressed it was uneventful. When we exited the building there was a fire truck there...then the explosion, this was real. The building was fully evacuated with no issues and over the entire event we heard that not one person was hurt/injured. This is fully due to the staff and management of the Lenox. In my many years in the military we trained, especially for emergencies. It was clear the Lenox did the same and unlike my 'real world' experience, this was real world to them and they all performed perfectly. We did hear a few complaints from fellow guests about inconvenience; I shook my head as this was an unexpected emergency and maybe they lost their 'suite', but this was not planned and everyone was ok. On top of that when we could go back in (there was no power), we were escorted to our rooms, help provided as necessary to pack and move as they didn't know when we could stay (it wasn't too long, again due to Lenox management, but we had moved due to plans that evening), and they had local rooms already booked. We had a fireplace room at the Lenox; our new room didn't, but it was nice, clean, the staff was helpful and accommodating, but over everything, instead of 'complaining' I'm thinking of everything that happened and everything the Lenox team had to deal with going forward. Speaking of the team, it was Saturday, as we waited outside there was a gentleman helping everyone, but not in 'Lenox' attire, more what I'd call Saturday casual. We found out it was this gentleman's hotel and he was there almost immediately working with the team and guests. But....he was not unique, everyone, again, everyone, on the Lenox staff was there to help and assist their guests, yes putting safety first, but understanding the potential for interruption of their guests. So, after the military and then corporate business, I know the buzz words, normally they are just that, but in this case it is now proven. The Lenox is the employer of choice in Boston. The Lenox is the best in class; The Lenox is world class. Is it perfect, thank heavens no as those that think they are, aren't. The Lenox has just established itself as the best hotel in Boston. Thank you for your service, thank you for the professionalism of your staff, thank you for the training that became second nature so everyone was safe. The Lenox is a world class hotel that has unfortunately done what you don't want to; they actually proved themselves, and they did. Thank you so much, Bill and Julie.

We recently stayed here for a casual family winter get-together. From helping us figure out the logistics ahead of time, to the service during the stay, and getting us through some unexpected challenges the team at this hotel was exceptional. Our room with a fireplace was delightful and comfortable, the hotel quiet and cozy. We were able to walk to great restaurants and museums easily. It was a wonderful experience and it's likely to become our go-to Boston meeting place.

Amazing location. Great spot for walking to fun cafés, good restaurants, park and shopping. Hotel is beautiful, rooms are clean and comfortable, however the bathroom in our room needed an update. The staff were really nice and welcoming. A great spot to stay in Boston.

We arrived on Christmas Eve & we were excited because we booked a room with a wood burning fireplace. Upon arrival after asking about Christmas meal options we were told all 3 restaurants were closed in the hotel. Our only option was to pick up a continental breakfast. We were told they wanted to give their staff time off during the holidays. At that point I said we should have been informed well ahead of time so we could plan accordingly & decide if we would want to stay there with no dining on Christmas Day. When we arrived in our room it looked old, dingy, & dated. The couch & furniture looked like it was 40 years old. I didn’t even want to sit on it because it looked dirty. We decided we would make the best of it at that point & sat on the bed. After dinner I pulled the robe & slippers out to relax. The slippers were old, dirty & looked like they had been worn at least 10 times. At that point I decided we needed to check out the next day. We also saw huge stains on the chair & a rubber backed on the floor. Obviously, the room was not cleaned very well. We went to The Fairmont @ Copley Square and we were so glad we did. Basically, the same price & it is fabulous. The manager was supposed to call me from the Lenox and I never got a call. Unless, you are desperate… don’t go!!

A friendly, boutique-style hotel in a great location. The staff were very helpful, rooms clean and comfortable, and the restaurant has a great vibe and delicious food. Very easy to get to everything fun to do in Boston.

We last stayed here in 2017 - we returned in Nov 23 for our 8th time at this hotel. The service is excellent & the lobby & restaurant were the same high standard. The rest of the hotel is very shabby (not shabby chic). The carpets look filthy and the rooms are in desperate need of updating. The plastic leather look headboard was peeling. Considering the room had 2 beds and in theory can sleep 4 adults there is almost zero storage. Small handing rail, 1 shelf & one small bedside cabinet that had one drawer. It is very clean albeit so outdated. When we left we had six suitcases that we had to get downstairs ourselves - we ripped the doorman well to put them in our taxi all they did was leave them at the boot leaving the taxi driver asking us if we’d left a good tip which we had done.

My wife and I had a delightful stay at the Lenox during Thanksgiving week. The hotel was festive with Christmas decorations, the entire staff was superb, and the junior suite to which we were upgraded was a special treat. When the opportunity presents itself, we'll be back.

The staff make this hotel. Just wonderful people. All of them. Extremely helpful with everything. The room was also perfect for the three of us. The location is also right in the middle of everything we wanted to see. We would definitely come back!

Great location opposite the public library. Felt safe walking around the area. Good size room but it was slightly noisy from outside we think it was an air conditioning unit/heater unit. Ear plugs solved that! Staff friendly. Didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on food.
