First of all, this hotel offers free wheelchairs for anyone with a disability. I called several 5 star hotels in Boston and they all wanted to charge me daily for a wheelchair rental, absurd! I commend them for this. The location is really why you’d want to stay here, it’s centrally located (right near Newbury, Prudential Center, Copley Mall, and a few t stops). They have a complimentary cocktail hour every night and water bottles in the lobby. Staff was friendly and room was clean. Would definitely recommend and stay there again.

I had a deal pop up so decided to book this hotel on a whim, it was very well priced for the location. The room was quite small, queen for two people, New York City Small, but it was lovely and well appointed. We were quite comfortable, and the room was very quiet I did not hear any hallway or elevator noises.

They have a continental breakfast in the morning with the basic pastries, juice, coffee. They aslo have a wine reception in the evening which is a very nice touch.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, the stay was quite enjoyable.

My only wish was the water in the shower had more pressure and was hotter - but that some major picky on my part.

I visited Boston on business and was housed in the Copley Square Hotel. I didn't have the option to choose my lodgings, so I think that is very important to note before I dive into my review. I thought the location of the hotel was great. I was able to walk to many restaurants. There is a lot of shopping nearby, but it was VERY high-end, so unless you are rich/wealthy, this isn't really a selling point for you (or me, lol). I was not thrilled with the overall look of the hotel and my room. I get that the Copley is supposed to be historic, and if you like that sort of thing, you might enjoy it. However, I found it to be sparse, and it lacked modern features. For example, the bathroom in my King room was extremely small, and the faucet leaked non-stop; it went from a steady trickle to drops and that was annoying. I don't see why the hospitality staff didn't report this issue because you couldn't miss it, and I really didn't have time to do so myself, and I didn't want to be bothered with maintenance people in my room or having to switch rooms. The bathroom lacked such items as a soap dish for the bar of soap. The carpet was worn and wasn't stapled down in one corner. However, my biggest issue was the lack of accessible outlets! I had to charge a phone, a laptop, and a watch, and there were no easy to reach plugs at either bedside table! The lamp on the desk had a USB outlet, so I was able to use that, but the next plug was several feet away and I had to lay at the bottom edge of the bed to use my laptop. I had to unplug the TV and whatever else from the power strip that was hanging down from the TV to charge my watch. I get the hotel is supposed to be historic, but your guests are modern, and we need AMPLE plugs! Also, there was no bedside alarm clock. Maybe bedside clocks aren't a thing anymore, but I still see them in a lot of hotels, and I like them because I am paranoid about my cellphone waking me up properly when I'm away from home and I like to see the alarm clock as a back up. In sum, the stay wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't stay here again, mainly because I like new, modern things and I didn't find the historic look and feel of the hotel the least bit alluring or charming.

I spent two days/nights at the Copley Square Hotel in Boston last week.
It’s well located in downtown Boston. Close to plenty of bars and restaurants.
It’s also adjacent to the Prudential Centre Mall.
The hotel is clean and my room was very good. However, the bathroom was very small but adequate.
The staff were very courteous and friendly.
The only minor downside was that there is no bar or restaurant on the premise.
At $100:00 per night it was also value for money as a very central hotel.

I took my 10 year old son into Boston for his birthday weekend, and needed a nice hotel in a good location for a decent price as we had a busy itinerary. The Copley Square Hotel was exactly what we needed. I was able to check our bag hours before we checked into our room, every staff member we interacted with was pleasant and helpful (and very tolerant of my many questions; we don't travel often!), the hotel was clean, and the newer elevator was working all three days we were there.
Our room (601) was exactly what we needed. Clean, cool and comfortable during Boston's heat wave! A spacious closet with hangers, a beside phone if you needed to call down, a desk with a lamp, a mini fridge, a safe, and a large TV. The bathroom was lovely, we had nice clean towels, a hair dryer, and amenities for the shower - which were much appreciated after walking around the city in the heat! Also, the wall paper in the bathroom and in the bedroom amused my son and I to no end and added such a touch of fun to the whole experience.
I will say that we had a very busy schedule of sightseeing and as a result we only needed to sleep and shower in the room, and for that purpose it was absolutely perfect (and really, the air conditioning was a godsend this weekend!). We stayed two nights and housekeeping didn't come while we were there, but given the interactions I had with the staff I can assume that if I had needed anything it would have been provided.
I suppose if you are used to luxury hotels with room service or breakfast/dinner buffets offered you might be disappointed, but we were in Boston to see the city, not spend all our time in the room. There are so many places to eat in the city, many of them steps from the hotel or a quick T ride away. The historic aspect of the hotel is wonderful, the location cannot be beat, and as I said every interaction we had with the staff was pleasant.
This trip was my son's 10th birthday present and he has already asked if we can stay in the same room next year - so I would say it was a good weekend!

The location is good to great depending on how you go to Boston and why you're there. If you take Amtrak it is a very short walk to the hotel from the Back Bay station and walking distance to public transportation as well as to ten colleges.
The rooms look good in the hotel photos online but even better in person. The bed is very comfortable, the bathroom looks great, was very clean and the waterfall shower head was better than any that I have used before. I didn't use the Television but it is a good size and there if you want spend time in a hotel room watching TV. The fridge was quiet and worked well keeping my water and juice very cold. The staff is great and Peter Hewes, the operations manager, actually cares that your stay is better than good. The trivial thing that was wrong is that there is no shelf in the shower to put soap or a bottle of shampoo but Mr Hewes assured me that there is a plan to correct that.
I don't understand a few negative reviews I see on this page because my experience was entirely different. The staff at the desk were friendly and courteous. The two elevators worked as they should, the bathroom was spotless, the water was hot and there was plenty of water pressure in the shower. Maybe the guest who had trouble with the shower didn't understand how the control works. There is a place to hang clothes and more hangers than I would ever need. My room was a bit small but not claustrophobic and I don't normally invite a half dozen people to my hotel room for a dinner party so it was fine.

Worst hotel experience ever. The room lacked several standard items such as a luggage rack, phone, alarm clock, and a coffee maker! When we asked if coffee was provided, we were told there was a “guest” kitchen. It’s nothing but an employee break room and the coffee cups/sleeves/lids are still in their packaging. A powdered creamer was available and no sugar. The last day we were there, my husband went to get coffee and there was no water in the Keurig. The staff told him there was no water available. The sink in the “guest” kitchen was not even working to get water and they ran out of water bottles. We spent a total of three nights and not once did housekeeping come to make up the room. They charged my husband’s card several times for over the valet charge. When he asked about it, the staff talked their way around it. We were charged an incidental fee and then an amount equal to what we would be paying in valet. But then the next day, they charged the card again! The room is not functional either. No side table on one side of the bed, no drawers, 4 hangars, a tiny little desk that would not function at all for business, the bathroom was large but the vanity was small so nowhere to put your items. In the description online, it said there was a doorman. There isn’t a doorman. There was also no functioning workout room. All in all- very disappointed with the lack of detail and attention to the room and the guests.

This hotel is very charming. Very clean. They have complimentary breakfast, which is your basic stuff like hard boiled eggs, yogurt and pastries. They have a nightly wine down where they offer a complimentary glass of wine. The hotel is very small, but that’s understandable being a historic hotel in the city. Can’t beat the location- local to back bay station, prudential mall and the supermarket is across the street. The only drawback is no fridge or microwave in the room and tight quarters to share with two people

I recently stayed there and it wasn't worth the $500/ night I paid. The first night I checked in I complained that more than half of the cable channels weren't working, including all ESPN channels, CNBC, TNT, etc. An engineer was sent up and was told many others had this issue and they would look to resolve the next day. Next day I return in the evening, is still not working and I go down to the front desk and say if I'm paying $500/ night I'd expect basic cable channels to be working. Engineer came again and said oh they didn't fix it? I offered to change rooms but they said they were full. I went online and they hey availability. I wasn't happy and they said the day manager would call me the next day. He never called.

The third night I get back and it's still not working. I tell front desk again and they come to the room to try and fix but it doesn't. Turns out that it is a more common problem. They charge you $500/night and don't think it's necessary to get this resolved or offer anything for the inconvenience. In fact, the manager didn't even bother to call.

I'd rather stay at a less expensive hotel, who probably will have all their tv channels working and if it didn't would probably feel like they could offer something for the inconvenience. They knew it was a problem, for several days and didn't do anything to resolve. They don't seem to care about the guest experience. I come to Boston monthly and won't be staying here again. If you're paying $500/ night and stay several nights you should expect more and the hotel should do better to resolve a basic issue.

Travelling on business and busy all day, it was great to come back to a good comfortable hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are neat and the bed is very comfortable.
Breakfast is sufficient although a few savoury options would be nice.
It would be good to have some type of coffee/tea station available throughout the day, although the central location allows for you to buy your coffee nearby...if you can brave the weather😀
