Nothing beats an awesome check in experience after a 5 hour flight delay. All thanks to Rey from the frontdesk for making sure that he provides the best customer experience upon checking in. He made me believe that the hospitality isn't dead yet. He was very welcoming and also gave a lot of great information about the city . Keep up the great work Rey! Thank you so much

This is a conference hotel, not a vacation hotel. If you are traveling for business, this hotel is fine, but it is nothing special. The hotel is massive and it herds large groups in and out, including hosting multiple conferences at once. Every day the lobby is filled with folks wandering around with their conference badges, trying to decide if they should attend their conference or just hang out in the lobby. At night, the lobby restaurant is packed with the same conference goers drinking mediocre drinks and eating mediocre food. The rooms are dark. Marriott, I beg you to get rid of the cheap coffee makers and paper cups. The M Lounge is dated. The food is standard hotel fare. This is a hotel that focuses on volume of patrons, not on providing memorable, luxury, or special services to its patrons. Positive notes are the following: 1) Because of the number of guests this hotel can house, the gym is huge. There is plenty of space to work out and several cardio machines. 2) The staff is very friendly. I want to compliment every single staff member I interacted with. 3) The views from the bar on the top floor are stunning. I would not stay here again, even for business. There are too many other/better options in San Francisco, even at a competitive price point.

Thanks for taking the time to share your detailed thoughts about your experience. Our hotel is host to many meeting and convention groups as well as social events. Our hope is to always be able to create wonderful memories for everyone. We will share your sentiments about the food and beverage mediocrity in the restaurants, the dated M Club lounge, and the less than superior coffee makers with the appropriate hotel leadership teams. We appreciate your positive notes in regard to the COR Health + Fitness Center, The View on the 39th Floor, and especially, our staff. Once again, we appreciate your time, and we look forward to the opportunity to be your host hotel in the future. Safe travels.

My experience at this Marriott was very positive. The lobby was crammed packed with people at check in and yet John G. was very kind and patient. I would suggest better signage for check in lines since several of us were confused and got in the wrong line and waited 20 minutes to find that out. Comfortable and clean rooms (shout out to housekeeping) and 6 quiet and fast elevators. Very quiet at night on the 20th floor, corner room. My favorite feature was a nighttime "off" switch for the refrigerator. See photo. I have never seen this and it is absolutely brilliant. Kudos Marriott Marquis. My frig was damaged by a previous guest but still worked. My least favorite is the coffee maker. See photo. Useless, flavorless coffee and worst of all, a hot beverage in a paper cup? Tip: Get a little collapsible kettle and coffee kit and bring a cup from home. The hotel charges $7 for a cup of Peets in the lobby. I would recommend this hotel but it's expensive if you want food and a view.

Isn’t this unfortunate. We were looking forward to visiting San Francisco and staying at a hotel brand that we know. After a long day of walking around the City, we wanted to chill in our room. Unfortunately, the internet is down and the TV doesn’t work, “and it’s been that way since yesterday”. Wonder what the next few nights will be like.

When I arrived I was informed that the hotel was oversold and they had to move me to a hotel across the street. This despite the fact that I had a reservation. They sent me across the street to Hotel Zelos. The room was inferior and I was put in a courtyard room with an outdoor bar that kept me up for hours.

Hotel was just fine but omg the location is horrible. We felt extremely unsafe walking anywhere. Accosted by homeless, almost stepped in human feces 1/2 block away. So many shops are shut down. So many things under lock and key at nearby stores. Will never ever visit SF again

Hotel may be nice, but thoroughly annoyed by the fact that at check-in they required a $500 (yes five hundred dollars!!!!!!!!!) security deposit on a $775 stay. NOTHING about it in any fine print I read. And what are you going to do, standing at the check-in counter trying to use a reservation you made months ago.

Great room, club level, very poor standards! The standards in the end club are no longer worth having. The food is awful by and large and people wander in without even having their cards checked for club privileges. People wandering around in their pajamas at breakfast wearing house slippers! It’s absolutely atrocious, I’ve seen better dressed people at Walmart. Evening staff in the lounge were incredible, breakfast crew awful. Asian lady on duty mostly hiding in the kitchen. The milk had run out 30 minutes ago, then she appeared , moved a few plates around and left again. Terrible experience, Marriott no longer cares about premium members! I haven’t been here since 2019 and the standards have dropped through the flow. Do better Marriott… And by the way, beware the $25. “Destination Charge”, just another way they get you!

We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience in the M Club, and we sincerely apologize for not creating a wonderful memory for you. As a teachable moment, we have shared your comments with the appropriate hotel leaders to improve upon the food offerings and flavors, the environment, and the expectations of our staff and guests. While we were out doing a little holiday shopping recently, we needed a little beverage and stopped into the local coffee shop. My better half asked me to look around, and we counted over 15 people wearing their flannel pajama bottoms with hoodies, some with the slippers on, and one with a blanket. It's not our preference, but it's "the look." We are grateful for your kind words for our evening hosts and thank you for choosing to stay with us. We wish you and yours a safe and happy holiday season!

I was confirmed for 2 nights and I'm a reward member. They overbooked and I was "walked." Sent to a less than comparable property about 1 mile away and was told to walk myself there. Without proper explanation, lack of empathy, and zero remorse for the inconvenience to me and my work trip, this has left a very bad impression of Marriott. In addition, the young staff member who asked me to leave was curt and rude when I asked him to explain what was happening. He kept repeating himself and saying, "As I already explained, the hotel is oversold." While that may have been a fact, that was his administrative burden to bear and I expect a better solution from a corporation like Marriiott. He said he was mirroring my attitude, which was warranted after flying across the country and not being given a bed to sleep in at 9pm. I hope he is reprimanded for his unprofessional behavior.

We appreciate you taking the time to let us know about your experience, and we sincerely apologize that we did not provide a flawless stay. Unfortunately, the hotel was oversold and had to relocate some of our guests to a comparable hotel, and the how our staff member delivered this message to you may have been better. As a teachable moment, we have shared your sentiments with the front desk leadership team and review this specific example with our hosts to improve upon our customer service. Once again, thank you for your time and for choosing to stay with us. We wish you a safe and pleasant holiday season.
