I've never stayed downtown (usually Union Square or Yerba Buena) but because we wanted to be closer to Chinatown and the Ferry Building for the weekend, we decided to give Le Meridien a try. Parking is what it is, extremely expensive and not worth the in/out privileges for me. We used SpotHero to park at the Embarcadero next door. If you want to do this, let me tell you, it's super easy. The hotel is literally a few steps away. I've stayed at other hotels where check-in was much further away from parking on location before. Checking in was quick and easy. The rooms were nice and clean and what we requested. The views seemed eh but actually at night you can see the Bay Bridge through the buildings. Very nice! The décor was intersecting to say the least. I meant to ask what it meant. Bed was very very comfy. The front desk was ok. We asked for roll-ups (silverware) the first night and although she seemed to have no idea what we were asking for, she still reached into a cubby and got us some. Also, my dad (who was staying in the room beside us) said that when he went downstairs for coffee the next morning they told him he wasn't a guest and had to leave. But once he showed the key they were ok. Didn't go back the next day though. Other than those small snafus, great stay. Would absolutely stay again!

Enjoyed our 3 night stay in a City by the Bay suite, with beautiful views of the Bay Bridge. Hotel is located in the financial district, about a 10 minute walk from the Ferry Building and public transportation. We are Titanium Elite members with Marriott Bonvoy. All the staff at this property were very accommodating and did a great job. Breakfast was bountiful and generous. The Le Meridien treated us well. Complimentary Illy coffee in lobby in the morning. Room service was quick, and front desk staff answered phones promptly. The bellmen were helpful and courteous. The elevators were fast. Only minor criticism is that the pictures did not entirely match the room. I liked the wallpaper shown on the website, but the wallpaper in our actual room was quite plain. The bathroom pictured had a balcony and a round, white sink; ours had a balcony in the livingroom instead, and a black, rectangular sink. This is not a 5 star hotel but it's very nice, the staff were excellent, we had a beautiful view and a very pleasant stay.

Housekeeping service was very poor. I had to call twice for almost everything. For example: I went out for 4 hours and asked them for putting extra pillows in my room and take out the garbage. They confirmed and said will send someone immediately but didn't do it and said that "We thought you are going out after 4 hours" . I have a screenshot of chat to share too since I messaged via marriot app. I am a gold elite member and was told Gold elite status is not eligible for room upgrade and when I showed them that website shows upgrades are available, I was told that no rooms are available while I saw on website that better rooms were available. Staff would often lie about things and when confronted they would make excuses. Hotel is in a good location and rooms are decent but nothing else was extraordinary about this stay.

When we got into the room, we noticed that it was not the room we had booked. Instead of having a queen bed with a balcony in the bathroom, we got a room with a balcony in the livingroom and a king bed. But the balcony was nice because we got a view of the Bay Bridge. Next time they should think about what kind of room to give us. I liked the pancakes from room service. I am only 8 years old. If you go here, I hope you get the room you want.

It has been a while since I posted a review but I had to post a new one about the Le Meridien in San Francisco. My husband and I had a great experience. We reserved a "City by the Bay" 1 bedroom suite (2219) and really enjoyed the room (we purchased a package deal that included self-parking and breakfast each morning brought to your room). The balcony and view from the room were amazing and we slept well on the queen size bed. While we enjoyed the room, we did have two suggestions: 1. The bathroom is missing storage/shelving to place/store your toiletries. We kept our toiletries on the counter in the living room (not a big deal but it would have been nice to have them in the bathroom). 2. The carpet was a bit worn in places and needs to be replaced. The furniture and curtains were all great, the hotel just needs to replace the carpet. We did also want to highlight a few great features about our stay: 1. The service was amazing! From the moment we arrived, everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were enjoying our stay. We arrived at about 2:00 p.m. and Nihad at the front desk apologized that our room was not ready. Rather than send us away to come back later, he offered us a few free drinks in the bar while we waited for the room. This was a very nice touch and we really appreciated it (we only had to wait another 20-30 minutes and the drinks were great). Our server in the bar (I believe her name was Kinga) was also wonderful. She suggested a few drinks we might like and checked in on us to make sure we were OK. Finally, we want to also thank Alex the doorman/bellman who helped us with our luggage, always greeted us, and was willing to take our picture. Thumbs up to all the staff! 2. The hotel is gay friendly. SF Pride month was about to start in a few weeks and the hotel had a rainbow flag hung by the front entrance. During our visit, we saw several gay couples and groups staying at the hotel. 3. The hotel is dog friendly (bonus!). In fact, they do not charge an additional fee for your dog (this is the first hotel we have ever stayed at that did not charge a pet fee). Of course, if your pet make a mess, they will charge a cleaning fee (fortunately our dog did not cause any problems). Please note that this hotel does seem to cater to those visiting for business and adults. While there is a fitness center (closed during COVID), there is no pool for the kids. Once again, we really enjoyed our stay at the Le Meridien. While we liked our room (be sure to get a suite with a balcony), it was the staff who really made it a fantastic stay for us. We will be back. Thanks!
