For the first time ever, I’m writing the review from the actual location i’m visiting.. after 4.5 years of hotel travel, this experience takes the cake. The worst part of this stay, and the reason for writing a review on the spot, is the paper thin walls. We’re talking Motel 6 thin. I just jumped as I write this, because i could hear the hangers screeching in the closet next door. Now I’m hearing someone unzip and rezip the stuck zipper on a suitcase -now rattling what sounds like a plastic bag full of pill bottles. I’ve had nightmares each night of my 4 night stay- I keep waking up thinking there is someone in MY room and it turns out it’s just the room next to me but Gee the person next me to likes to use their safe! This is the third time they’ve opened and slammed it. Anyway, I gave the hotel some slack the first two nights, thinking it’s because i was moved to an adjoining room, or maybe the guests are just loud. Night 3 and - DANG! This guy next door must have just arrived because I keep getting distracted hearing him unpack. ... You get the point. Overall a nice stay: aesthetic was great, checkout smooth, gold status gave me a complimentary “upgrade” to a view (but also a room with an adjoining door - always fun to hear the guests on the other side of the wall testing to see if their door to your room opens). The room was spotless and maintained in that fashion the duration of my stay. Restaurant/bar staff were 11 out of 10. Bellhops were bleh. Valet was there the moment you needed it. i still don’t understand why there is no room service. if you are attempting to limit guest’s exposure, why do you force me to come downstairs to sit next to someone at the bar who’s also ordering to go food? at this level of hotel, i was also surprised no complimentary water bottles were there to greet me.

We stayed at this lovely hotel from mid November 2020 to mid January 2021. We got a very large corner suite with a great view on a high floor. The hospitality we experienced was outstanding! It all began with the Assistant Front Office Manager, Mr. Eli Padayhag, who processed our reservation. Eli is the most professional and courteous hotel employee I have ever met in all my travels around the world. His team, led by the Front Office Manager, Mr. Jose Pineda, brought a smile to the face of my family, even when COVID was at its peak in California. Caitlin Crable at the Front Desk is an angel who gave my toddler cute little gifts each week! Kae Chaivisuth at the Reception suggested many child friendly places to visit and guided us where to get our COVID tests (that were required by the airline prior to boarding). Bill Sutton, a super efficient Gold Key Conceirge got us tickets for the ferry and any reservations we needed. Bobby Imperial, in charge of the Bell Desk, greeted us each day and got our packages delivered to our room. Snow Huynh gave us great directions and helped move our luggage very efficiently. Other employees that made our stay special were Dorian Estela and JD Norris. The Housekeeping at the hotel was very good and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel 😊 It has a great location and one can walk to many great spots from it. The employees have a very customer-centric service culture that makes a difference that matters.

After living in San Francisco for 25 years, it is always a treat to return to visit family and friends. We made our reservations at the InterContinental San Francisco and it did not disappoint. The customer service was 5 star and the staff are exceptional, from the front desk with Bill and David to the bell staff we were treated as if we were the only guest in the hotel. We had drinks at the Bar 888 and the staff could not have been more engaging and nice, not to mention the drinks were delicious. We selected the internet and parking package which we found to be a great value. Our room was on the 19th floor with views of the Bay. Our room had an automatic shade that lowered the blinds and kept the room dark enough for us to sleep in the next morning. The room was spacious and very well appointed. The hotel and our room were very clean and they follow all the recommended Covid guidelines. While San Francisco has been in the news for crime, we felt very safe in the area and walking at night near the hotel. My only negative is they charge for local calls, the instructions for valet parking had a local number to call. They charged us about $2.00 for a local call, when we return we won't make that mistake again. We look forward to our next visit!!

Our first night in the States and as usual, Intercontinental didn't disappoint. Nice room, very comfy bed, and a delicious breakfast. Loses one star though - we were on the 6th floor and the wifi was very poor, had to go down to the lobby for a decent signal. Otherwise excellent.

Spacious luxurious rooms with exceptionally well thought out design (dimmers on all light fixtures, plenty of storage and seating). Corner room views are spectacular and the staff is very cordial and well trained. Were told that housekeeping would not be daily (due to pandemic staff shortage), but in fact our room was made up daily. Breakfast offerings were a bit disappointing. Highly recommend.
