St Regis San Fransisco is a fantastic hotel located in great location. The hotel oozes quality. The rooms are very modern with beautiful touches everywhere. The only thing missing from the room in my humble opinion is a coffee maker! The staff are so welcoming & charming. A special thanks to Mariah at Concierge.

I somehow forgot to post this in February after our stay, so here goes! I was thrilled to finally make my way back in Feb to my “home away from home” at the St Regis San Francisco. This was my first stay since Dec 2019. While the stay wasn’t perfect — in-room dining and butler services still need a bit of time to sort themselves fully — it nonetheless was absolutely wonderful to be back. (After disastrous stays at the Peninsula Beverly Hills in Sept 2021 and St Regis Deer Valley in Oct 2021, not to mention our imperfect Amangiri stay in Jan 2022, it really helps to put things into perspective during these challenging labor supply shortage and new staff training times.) #stregis #sanfrancisco #stregissanfrancisco #sna #suiteupgrades #homeawayfromhome #billsalltimefavorites I booked months before a $427 AAA rate for an entry level superior king room and applied SNAs for the Executive Premier king room; my SNAs cleared 5 days before the stay to the Executive Premier. I was further upgraded to the Astor Suite 4 days before arrival — and upgraded yet again to my regular Metropolitan Suite the day before arrival. #AmbassadorStatusMatters #RubinSuite #metropolitansuite My regular Metropolitan Suite has an extra set of blackout curtains — installed at my request many years ago and well before the recent 2019 renovation that added automated blackout shades to all rooms. It also has separate HVAC units for the living room and bedroom that work very well for my frigid requirements. #HisRoyalColdness #KingOfAirCon I arrived early at 3 pm and my suite was all ready for me. I was pre-approved for 4 pm late checkout with issue, as well. The new lobby is spectacular and quite a wonderful and surprising change from its previous incarnation. The lobby bar also has been greatly and smartly opened up with plenty of comfortable seating and a new 1920s Art Deco inspiration that I loved. Service at the bar was fantastic as usual. I had sent my typical #prearrivalchecklist to the hotel via the Ambassador team and again via the app chat function once I’d pre-checked in 2 days before arrival. The room wasn’t pre-cooled as I’d asked, but the fan in the bedroom, extra bottles of water, Nespresso and tea kettle, and welcome amenity we’re all waiting for me. They even had eye masks on either side of the bed for us, something I don’t remember from pre-pandemic stays. I did have to call for an engineer to turn off the hot water supply to the bedroom HVAC so it would continue to get much colder, and he was very friendly and helpful. Within an hour, the bedroom was down to 67 F — and eventually reached 64 F a few hours later. Bliss. Housekeeping was excellent. We always called for service whenever we left and it always was done within the hour. (There also are service and DND buttons by the door.) We never asked for nor received turndown service, but we also weren’t expecting it under the current labor shortage circumstances. The concierge team here is the best in the city. Daniel, the amazing head concierge, helped get us a booking at 2* Lazy Bear before the booking window even opened. He also made great suggestions for the nearby Wise Sons Jewish Deli at the Contemporary Jewish Museum a block away and a few other brunch options. While in town, we also had fabulous dinners at nearby 1* Mourad (a staple dinner for us whenever staying at the StR since it’s just down the street) and 3* Atelier Crenn. We enjoyed outdoor brunches at the nearby Vault Garden and at the Yank Sing dim sum place on Stevenson, both just 10-15 min walks away. A trip to San Francisco for us is always a dining extravaganza. Butler services aren’t really sorted quite yet, and there was no butler unpacking or packing available. Butler coffee service is really handled now via in-room dining, and in-room dining still needs some work. Breakfast still is offered via in-room dining (though someone said the breakfast restaurant may open in another week or two) — and in-room dining is overworked, understaffed, and/or needs more training. We didn’t get it quite right on any of our 3 mornings — once with lukewarm entrees, once with lukewarm and incorrect entrees, and once delayed over an hour with incorrect details. I asked for and got a $150 credit for the 3 fails on breakfast. Otherwise, the menu options for Platinum breakfast are quite generous, and the food is as good as I remember. We also did quite a bit of walking around the city — both during the day and in the evenings before and after dinners. While we did see some homeless persons and even a few encampments, there was nothing particularly problematic anywhere close to the St Regis — even at the Metreon and convention center parks nearby, as well as Union Square and much of the Embarcadero. The homeless persons we did see were no bother to us whatsoever. Anyone who thinks San Francisco as a visitor or tourist is somehow more dangerous or unappealing is kidding themselves and likely just as afraid of their own shadows. #GetOutOfYourBubble Still, it was yet another wonderful stay at the St Regis San Francisco — even with the challenges. It’s still my favorite city hotel in the USA. I’m already booked to return quite a few more times this year.

Checkin was smooth and courteous for my two-night city culture stay. Was upgraded to a 20th-floor corner Astor suite, and think my Bevisor advisor Hao had something to do with that. Breakfast up to $60 included each morning, $100 credit. Parking $75/day, ouch, but given parking is a very big, nasty bear in SF, expected and on a par with other hotels of its ilk. Room The Astor suite was perfect for me, no need to book The Larger Metropolitan suite now that I travel alone. Wonderfully comfortable with comfy linens, great linens in double-vanity bathroom with tub and walk-in shower. Clean, oristine and well supplied. Excellent soap, shampoo, etc. Floor to ceiling windows. Extravagant, mesmerizing views night and day. Sheer and nlackout curtains, desk area, living area with couch, comfy chairs, wall tv. Separate bedroom. Tons of storage space. Mgt gifted fruit bowl and still and sparkling water. Service Service was splendid and kind, unforced. Upon checkout, I left behind a critical part of my CPAP machine. Security tracked it down and overnighted it to me. Such a relief! Dining Room service only and it was quite goid. Except, they weirdly were out of English breakfast tea. How does that happen ? Location Just about perfect. Adjacent to SFMOMA and near convention center. Just two blocks from Salesforce Park which is a wonder in and of itself.

The SF St Regis is the most definitively non-St Regis property in their brand. In addition to the dated design and decor of the property that many other reviews go into great depth here, the service and emphasis on customer service has really fallen off a cliff. As someone who stays at STR across the world frequently, I always return for the great service. It is what defines the brand. Having stayed at STR Aspen, Maldives, Atlanta, and DC in the last year, I am always amazed at the high levels of customer service they have. Those properties always go the extra mile for their guests especially their frequent customers. My past stays at St Regis SF used to be that way, but not any more. They have stripped away their benefits for elite members. If you a platinum, titanium or even Ambassador level, don't expect much. Even though every stay at other St Regis have included upgraded to suites, St Regis San Francisco won't do that for elite members. I was told by Nate and his team at front desk that San Francisco doesn't honor those upgrades like they use to and all other St Regis do. I was dismissively told " Read the small print. However, they were more than happy to sell you an upgrade to an Astor Suite or Metropolitan suite. In short, don't stay here if you expect St Regis service. Nor stay here if you think they will honor loyalty benefits as they don't. If you want great service and luxury, stay at the Four Seasons. There is a reason this hotel has fallen to #34 on TripAdvisor

This property personifies the St Regis experience. Luxe, intimate, well-appointed rooms, great amenities, and top notch service. Details like Frette robes and slippers and Nespresso machine for the room on request are special. It’s close to the action of Union Square but not in it, which is a plus. Definitely a repeat.

Beautiful hotel, maybe a little to sterile for my taste. Most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. The food at the bar is good. The only downside is it in San Francisco...I mean its location in SF. I did not feel safe walking around. I was at a nearby drug store because I forgot floss and everything, including floss and $2 toothbrush was locked and required an employee to come unlock it. I witnesses two individuals walk in, take a handful of items, and walk out in clear view of the single employee at the cash register. In other words, everything they say about SF is true.

My husband and I had a wonderful 3 night stay here celebrating our anniversary. The service was exceptional. Turn down service at night was a wonderful surprise. José was a wonderful bartender in the newly renovated main floor bar and restaurant. Location is very walkable to many must-sees. Easy walk to Oracle Park to take in a Giants game. Will definitely look for more St.Regis’ to stay at in the future based on the service and spacious rooms. 10/10.

Been to different properties and always have good experiences, that’s why it was surprising and disappointed with the valet service at this place. Had my car parked and ask to charge it up, after 5 hours it didn’t have enough (15 %) to go more than 25 miles?? Took over 30 minutes to get the car from the garage. This is how long it took to get charged at roadside for 15.’%. In top of this, a clean car going in, came back with a dirty car with marks all over ever door? Getting different excuses/stories from different people I spoke to including that the parking is operated by an independent company from the hotel. Being a lifetime member of Marriott Bonvoy, this is the first time I had this type of experience from any Marriott hotel at any level, and definitely not what I would expect from their high end hotel like St. Regis.

We had a lovely stay at this St Regis hotel during our first time in San Francisco. Very convenient location for walking around town. Great room and quiet for deep sleep and fantastic breakfast served in room! Staff were all smily and very helpful

We recently stayed at the Saint Regis in San Francisco over the weekend of the 4th of July! The St Regis did NOT disappoint, the lobby was beautiful, pristine, the front desk accommodating, polite, sincere and gracious. I booked through American Express FHR and they upgraded us to a BEAUTIFUL corner floor to ceiling suite Suite 1211! The Suite was GORGEOUS and the views are the MOST SPECTACULAR in the city!!!! We ordered room service breakfast and the continental had fresh pastries, great coffee. The St Regis is our GO TO in San Francisco!! The location is amazing too!!!
