This was our family's first attempt at a niche hotel outside of our global loyalty hotel chain, in a major city. Our initial two night stay was so good, our teenage kids requested an additional night stay. So, needing a place to stay the night before we departed San Francisco, after a road trip to Monterey/Carmel and Yosemite, we returned. We were just as impressed with the second stay as we were with the first one. Reasons: 1) World Class Staff 2) Location, Location, Location 3) Amenities/Building 1) From the airport pickup (scheduled through the hotel), to the front desk staff, door personnel, porters, cleaning crew and Blue Mermaid restaurant team, our experience from beginning to end was World Class. We literally felt at home in the hotel. A special "Thank you" to Deysa and her staff for being so pleasant and helpful with our questions and requests. Lambros, the bartender at Blue Mermaid, is outstanding. You must try his Espresso Martini and Margaritas! He also made our kids feel special by making them "mocktails". Customer service was impeccable. Irfan runs a superb restaurant and we greatly appreciated Gerardo's breakfast service. He nailed the recommendations! The clam chowder and crab omelet were amazing. 2) The hotel is literally at the wharf's Golden Gate street entrance, next to the only beach in the area and amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Everything is within walking distance, and if it isn't, there is a trolley location next to the hotel. (trolley was not working during our stay due to COVID). Walk out the back of the hotel and you are a short distance from both Lombard and Columbus streets (a walk along this street will take you to Italian and Chinese districts (etc.). Each evening, we would stroll across the street and sit at the beach to view the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset. All while people swam in the bay and kids played in the waves. Pitcuresque! 3) The building is a national historic landmark! The interior design magestically incorporated the original cannery row building's structure. Both the brick exterior and the interior wood beams are exposed in the rooms. Fascinating history! Utilize the hotel's available bike rentals from Blazing Saddles. Our family's ride out to the Golden Gate Bridge and the Palace of Fine Arts was unforgettable. Thanks again to everyone at the Argonaut Hotel. Because of you, we researched other Noble House Hotels & Resorts for future trips. In particular, we are planning to visit The Stella Hotel in the near future.…
Loved the hotel and staff. Had a bad experience at restaraunt but there are lots of other places to eat. Again - staff was AWESOME - always friendly and helpful. Everything on their end was flawless and effortless!
No daily room cleaning/servicing without having to ask. Due to covid changes or limited staff? I chose this hotel upon recommendation from a friend who had a wonderful opinion of it when owned by another hotel chain. I was disappointed in having to ask for any service of the room at all, even just new coffee or emptying the trash. I understand covid staff changes but I feel like bathroom attention, coffee refreshers and trash removal should be done daily without having to request them.
If you are looking for a top notch guest oriented hotel in SF. I would recommend the Argonaut Hotel. From the moment you hit the front door the staff makes you feel welcomed. The uniqueness and details throughout the hotel were amazing. The pictures on the website were exactly what the room looked like. The location was in walking distance of most major sites.
Wonderful facility with truly friendly and engage personnel. Wonderful location, too. Can only imagine how much more enjoyable a stay it will be once SF fully opens again. A lot of stores/restaurants etc still closed due to Covid but fortunately and hopefully the end is in sight!
