This was the nicest Courtyard I've been in, and a very great experience overall. We stayed here as I had a medical appointment in the Sutter Gould buildings across the street, so the location was perfect for us. Generally, the location is a little gritty, but pretty close to the theaters and not far from Union Square by car. We arrived at 10AM but our room was already ready and we were able to check in. As I needed handicap parking, we were allowed to get into the parking area, too. Note, the parking lot is super super small and cramped but it is gated for security and we were told there's another parking garage across the street too. On-site parking was $49 a night, which I thought was steep but worth it for us. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and looks newly redone. The room itself was a little small but beautifully appointed. The TV has the capability to stream from your Netflix (etc) accounts too. Staff was all very friendly and accommodating. We asked for extra pillows which they provided, and we absolutely loved the pillows! We enjoyed our stay and we will not hesitate to stay here again.

Rude! NO REGARD FOR YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS DO NOT GO HERE!!! On Sunday October 24th there was a huge storm in SF, my new car hit a pot hole around 11PM and blew out my tire. It was pouring rain and I was trying to find a place to change my tire safely or wait it out the storm. I went to this courtyard and asked for a room. It was 12:01 so since it was technically the 25th the guy working said that he couldn’t take reservations until 3pm.. later that day..?! I just wanted to pay and get a room wait out the storm. I’m a small female and I didn’t feel safe on the streets changing a tire in the middle of the night. I was clearly distressed and this man showed absolutely no regard for my life/safety. Anyways I asked to at least be let into their parking lot (which is gated and has cameras) to change my tire safely. He told me absolutely not and to find some place else. I was almost crying at this point because I didn’t know what to do and he asked me to leave. I drove up the street on my rim to a hospital where the security team of that hospital nicely helped me out and gave me a safe dry place to change my tire like decent humans. I don’t know what policy courtyard has that it turns away paying customers when they have empty rooms but I’m sure that’s working out for them. I hope that man does not have children or sisters or, I don’t know, paying customers that need assistance because he will not be doing it. Anyways, I guess my complaint is solely on whoever was working that night or any policy that a hotel would not want people to stay the night lol. Kthanksbye.

We stayed one Friday night. Old hotel nicely updated while retaining the charm of this historic building. Very quiet, very clean, comfortable. Great shower! With multiple water flow options. Lighted room safe, large enough for two laptops and more. Ample and accessible outlets for phone and laptop charging. Warm and attentive hospitality. We interacted with Maria at the front desk... Friendly, professional, felt so welcome. We visit SF often and wanted to stay at a different Marriott to explore another part of the city. Not very touristy area so I felt more at ease, like I had a mini vacation. Thank you! It's been awhile since I've left a hotel feeling like I got away.

Very clean and the common area, rooms, and bathroom appear to have been recently renovated. Charming and comfortable. The beds are great. The parking is as convenient as can be expected in a big city. It’s great to have in and out privileges and not have to deal with valet parking if you need to come and go. There is also a washer/dryer (free for guests). Regarding the neighborhood, it’s actually in a great area as long as you walk in the right direction. just avoid walking east of Van Ness until you get a block or two north of ~Bush. Simple as that.

Very small rooms and parking is crazy. Also San Francisco is really not open for business. We were asked at every restaurant and store to show ID and proof of vaccine. While we had both of these it really didn't seem like we were in America anymore. The area was also filled with homeless people and drug users on the open street right in front of the hotel.
