Wailuku Guesthouse is a clean, affordable accommodation on the beautiful island of Maui. Centrally located with a saltwater pool with waterfalls, barbeque, cable TV and air conditioning, beach chairs, beach towels, snorkel gear, coolers for packing great lunches and chilly drinks and free use of the Maui Revealed Guide Book. The house dates back to the early 1900's as a plantation home. Then it was used as officer's quarter's in 1945. The current owners have done many renovations and the rooms are kept spotlessly clean. It offers free wi-fi and parking for all guests.

Stayed in the Wasabi suite, was a great room but the location is a perfect jumping off point for our daily excursions around Maui, it's very convenient to pretty much everything. The real hidden gem of the Guesthouse was a binder containing suggestions for local restaurants and beaches that have all been nothing short of amazing. You won't find a better place to stay for an "a la carte" Maui Vacation.

Room Tip: Trust the binder! Also, Maui is full of wild chickens so expect some early noises.

We stayed in the Wasabi Suite and truly enjoyed our stay. The Wailuku Guesthouse is centrally located making it easy to get anywhere on Maui. Maureen is an excellent host, who is always available when we need information or assistance. The room is clean and comfortable. Loved the pool and BBQ in the evening.

Maureen and Kimberly were beyond awesome! The room was so clean and was incredibly cozy. I felt this location was in good driving distance between all the great activities. Whenever I had questions, Maureen was ready to help. Also, the cool is great! Very well maintained. I highly recommend staying here. I would go back again for sure!

The Garden Ohana was cozy, comfy and made us feel right at home. There were fresh flowers from the garden waiting for us on the kitchen table when we arrived and were warmly greeted by one of the owners, Maureen. We also rented Maureen's car, and doing so really helped make our vacation convenient and relatively stress free. The pool is amazing, we had breakfast next to it almost every morning and swam in it many times. A refreshing island breeze blew through the house, there is a gorgeous view of the Iao Valley from poolside, dragonflies dart in and out of the back yard all day long.

This was a fantastic place to stay. Clean, quality accommodations, both indoors and outdoors (pool). Was peaceful and quiet, just a few blocks easy walk from downtown Wailuku shops. Would stay here again!!

I have stayed many times at the Wailuku Guesthouse and each time is another wonderful experience. It really does feel like a home away from home now. The hosts are wonderful, the other guests have always been great to meet, and the housekeeping staff (Kimberly and Haukea) keep things in tip top shape. You can't beat the pool and the best parts of Wailuku town are just a few blocks away. And it's a short drive to several nearby beaches. This is still one of my favorite places to stay when visiting Maui.

Pros: The Room was clean Easy checkin Close to the airport and centrally located The pool was nice and the bbq Area Fresh banana. Easy communication with the owner. Cons: If you like us don't like a soft bed you will not sleep the whole trip. The bed is so so soft and little old. You can hear everything the other people saying and doing in next room :( I understand that you need to have camera to watch the house but there are so many of them we felt we been watched. We are hiker, we like to come back and chill watch TV, there was only 4 channels on TV so we went and got Ruko wish we knew we would brought one from home. Over all i think it was average

Aloha Noora Thanks for staying with us. I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. We have 5 beds with different comfort levels. Want a really firm bed take the Mill room. The outdoor cameras are necessary for our protection as well as guests. We have a pool that needs monitoring and sidewalks and entryways that all need monitoring. People are always saying oh by the way I fell on your property and I’d like compensation. Well so far not a single said injury went anywhere as our cameras showed otherwise. That’s how we protect our business from false claims. Hope you understand. Mahalo The Wailuku Guesthouse

We have just returned to California, following our wonderful stay at the Wailuku Guesthouse. And yes, the rooms are small, but everything we needed was there. Other than small, I would also use the words "cozy", "warm", "welcoming" and full of the true aloha spirit. In fact, after a few days we even started calling it "home", imagining how it would've been so awesome to find a tiny studio apartment like this when we were starting out in life. We enjoyed it as a bit of nostalgia, and appreciated all the little touches that made it more personal than your typical huge, cold, expensive!, fancy-shmancy corporate hotel room. But to each their own. Ms. Maureen is a gracious host. She made a point to meet us personally and chat awhile, even though she is extremely busy keeping up with maintenance and duties to keep the rooms and grounds sparkling clean. The landscaping and pool are amazingly beautiful. We felt safe and welcome the whole time we were there, and can't wait to return next year. The people in Wailuku town were also very friendly, and businesses open despite pressures of the mask & vax requirements. Maui residents are resilient and care about their community. If you want a taste of the "real Maui", and enjoy local flavor, I would highly recommend Wailuku Guesthouses. To the bitter, negative reviewers, I would say, read the cancellation policies as I did, BEFORE you reply "I agree." There is nothing hidden in fine print, it is all there. It's very understandable how they have only a few rooms and are a small operation, so it makes sense to have a 30 day cancellation policy that hello, you AGREED to, so please don't try to say you were ripped off.

Hey Mahalo. For getting us. Small business. Exactly why we have that policy. We are affordable as well. You can hardly find a room on Maui less than $300-$400 for 2 people. I’m glad you enjoyed this little piece of Maui we created 22 yrs ago. Share your memories with your friends we will love to meet them too. Mahalo Nui Loa

Pros: - affordable - in the middle of the island - free beach equipment for borrowing Cons: - The mill room is super tight - no accessible service/front desk at quick access (& thus this should be advertised as an airbnb not hotel) - cleaning service (they only do garbage & towels - no bed/room) is every other day not everyday but our room needed more garbage cans & the garbage would smell from leftover food unless we took it out with us to throw out … (so again should be advertised as an airbnb not hotel) Overall, we’re appreciative of the Wailuku Guesthouse and we enjoyed our stay. If we ever came back, I would definitely consider staying here again as the location & price were most convenient for us.

I DO NOT recommend staying in the hotel. You would get fully charged even you had to cancel. And the owner has the worst hospitality servers EVER. She was very nice when we made a reservation, but she sent a message and threatening us when we canceled! Please be aware and don't let this owner to ruining your entire trip.
