Awesome stay for 5 days, cannot recommend highly enough. Fantastic location `right on the beach, modern clean rooms and the resort is spotlessly maintained. We will definitely be back to stay here again.

Great position, just in the beautiful Napili beach, great beach to bath, snorkeling and see fishes and sea turtles… The room are renewed, big rooms with a kitchenette space, big and clean shower. Beautiful gardens and a good pool. Free coffee and pineapple juice in the morning. We don’t give the five stars because we think that for the price , they can do a proper clean each day. They do only a light service with towel change.

The staff was always nice and friendly. The grounds were well kept. We could walk right to the beach and there were a few food options within walking distance. Loved the filter water pitcher in the room. Rooms were cozy. Totally a bonus that there was no TV. Our room overlooked the pool which was used a lot by our party. Having a kitchenette and community grill available was nice. Lots of places to sit outside and eat or just enjoy the view.

I can't believe we stumbled across this gem on Maui. We were looking for one nite to stay before we moved to our time share. We arrived after midnite, they had left us a key with instructions. This is a precious, well kept property. It was perfectly furnished, located on a great seawall and beach. The people so very friendly. I loved not just the setting the room was well furnished and beds comfy. We were in building C. Adjacent to the pool, we had a 2 queen hotel room with a well appointed bathroom, a fridge, microwave, AC and great bedding. They serve fresh juice in the morning and coffee in a room near the office. Everyone we visited with was so friendly! we can't wait to come back and stay longer.

My wife and I stayed here overnight after we arrived late from our flight from the mainland. Since we were booked at a more luxurious hotel for the rest of our stay, we wanted a relatively inexpensive place given that we only needed a place to sleep overnight. We read in previous reviews that parking was an issue and it was for us as well given that we arrived late in the evening. The security guard who checked us in was very friendly and made sure we found a place to park our car overnight. He even helped us with our luggage given that our room was located on the second floor and there are no elevators on the property. The hotel is located in a more tranquil part of Maui and on a beautiful bay with a nice beach. Given that our room was on the second floor, we were able to see the ocean at a distance when we woke up the next morning. The hotel grounds are beautiful with lush gardens and beautiful tropical flowers. There is even a small pool however I would probably forego the pool for the nearby beach. The room was not luxurious but was very pleasant nonetheless and had a nice local, Hawaiian vibe to it. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom spacious. There was even a refrigerator and microwave in the room which might be very useful to some guests. We decided not to take advantage of the free continental breakfast given it was very basic but decided instead to eat somewhere else on our way to our next hotel. Overall, we enjoyed our brief stay here and would consider staying here again in the future

Stayed for the first time this past week. Location in Napili is a different vibe than other parts of the island which was cool. More laid back and very close to the water. Was awesome to experience the surf that was happening this past week. Rooms were small-ish, but well laid out and the bed was great. Shower was a good size which is a plus. No TV's in room is a bonus. Small (small, small) continental breakfast each morning will get you started. Good or bad thing depending on your preference is that it appears that many groups come back year after year, so common areas had a commune feel to it at times. Would stay again for sure.

PROS: 1. The hotel is in a good location and offers a nice beach, pool and rooms with beautiful sunset views. 2. Breakfast is available every morning. 3. Laundry machines are available onsite(coin operated) CONS: 1. Its a slightly long drive from the airport to the hotel.

My husband and I first stayed at the Mauian in 2010. That trip was memorable and we declared that the Mauian would become our special home away from home for years to come. Since then, we have stayed on several occasions and have also tried a few other properties on the island. However, something always brings us right back to this spot.  We returned this week for the first time after a few year hiatus. Somethings have not changed at all while we discovered a few new inconveniences/annoyances.  What we love about the Mauian.... - the proximity to the beach. If you are in the ocean or partial ocean view rooms, you can literally step onto the sand within a minute of leaving your unit. That also means each unit has a stunning view of Napili Bay.  - the old school Hawaiian vibe. The 2 story building has that old school, rat pack vibe. The grounds are lush and the rooms are tastefully decorated in traditional Hawaiian colors. The ambience here is perfection.  - the beach itself is beautiful (though has changed over the years and is a bit steep). However, on a calm day I can't think of a more beautiful place to snorkel, float or stand up paddle board. - the recent addition of AC in the rooms! Definitely helps for those units that are in the afternoon sun. We enjoyed having the AC on until nightfall and then opening the windows to sleep with the breeze and sounds of the waves.  - there is a small breakfast served daily (which has also changed over the years and is now scaled back quite a bit). We use the breakfast to supplement our own breakfast items that we cook in the room. You can expect toast, fruit, juice and hard boiled eggs.  Things we don't love about the Mauian.... - the parking situation (which has gotten worse over the years). There are more units than parking spots. The add to that, there is no parking inforcement and I counted a handful of cars parked in spots this morning that didn't have a Mauian parking permit. Other guests were literally parking behind and blocking cars in (even though the Mauian recommends street parking).  - the walls are thin, which usually isn't an issue, this time however we were next to a screaming baby and inconsiderate people that don't know how to use their indoor voices.  - the beach has gotten busy and we felt pressure to go down early every morning and set up our chairs and towels (which made me feel like we were at a cheap all inclusive, minus the "all inclusive" part).  Overall, for the price this place is a gem. In the ten years we've been coming to Maui, the nightly rates have doubled on the island. However, compared to hotels in Wailea (re: the Andaz - which I liked) the rate here is still half the price. We will obviously be back (but I'll likely pack ear plugs).

This is more of a motel than a resort. There are few amenities to speak of. There's daily housekeeping and breakfast of pineapple, mango, and toast. And free serviceable lounge chairs. There is no concierge to help with travel plans or activities. There is no privacy on the beach. The rooms are dated. When we arrived, there was a large roach in the bathroom, though the hotel did spray and we did not see another critter. A ceiling fan didn't work. If you're looking for a no frills DIY vacation, this could be a good option. If you want a full resort experience, look elsewhere

Loved this place! I was traveling solo during my trip and I only stayed here 1 night in the 1 bedroom suite because that was the only room left when I booked which was totally fine with me. It had a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove, microwave, dining area, living room, private bedroom and bathroom with its own private back patio. I wish I was staying longer to enjoy the property more but overall the staff was friendly, the room was clean and the property was absolutely gorgeous. Free continental breakfast from 7am-9am however I would advise to stop at a grocery store to stock up on water and other food you may want during your stay. There is only water available in the vending machine. If you plan on staying a while, this hotel is perfect for longer trips.
