We did a sister trip for our birthdays and thru the recommendation of a dear friend we were able to get a room here and we couldn’t have been happier. Everything was amazing from the location which is perfectly centrally located, to the room and most importantly the hosts from Joanna and Kaui to everyone I spoke to at the desk. Working in the industry for 27 years I know good customer service when I feel it … and the host of the Maui Coast Hotel are top notch! My sister and I can’t wait to go back! Keep doing what you’re doing … Denise from Honolulu
Good stay! Clean rooms and great housekeeping service. Grounds were decent but nothing to write home about. We were a little concerned about previous reviews that mentioned construction noise. We could see there was construction but didn’t hear anything. Staff was friendly and they let us have a late checkout, which was appreciated!
The hotel is located in a more residential area of Maui which was actually very pleasant. The facilities are very welcoming and the staff were very friendly. The rooms are spacious, quiet and very comfortable. I wasn’t able to get to the pool or gym but the other guests seemed to enjoy them. There is beach access less than a block from the hotel and I was able to take a walk in the morning and really enjoyed the views. Even though it is a less touristy area there are lots of local bars and restaurants within walking distance so you don’t need to have a car to find entertainment. I look forward to staying here again!
We stayed here for two nights near the end of our vacation on Maui. The hotel is very nice, room was clean and location is good for access to Haleakala, many tours of the upcountry and not far from the airport (OGG). The staff was very helpful. Nice pool area with hot tubs and a cute bar with good drinks and usually some entertainment. There was some construction going on next door but it was not obtrusive. Good restaurants nearby. Recommend the Maui Brewing Co for a fun afternoon break.
Stayed here for only one night for business. Beautiful open air lobby , and suite was generous sized with two balconies in living room and bedroom. The kitchenette was coffee maker with coffee packets, mini fridge, microwave, and a small sink. Easy walking distance from lots of shops, cafes, ABC, etc. Just across road from one of several beach parks that link along Kihei. The pool area was gorgeous and the pool was fun for a quick swim. The hotel offered bicycles with baskets (included with your room) but I did not get a chance to try them out - you can get helmet and lock as well. Next time. The hotel is expanding and there is construction going on to add an additional building, opposite one side of the hotel building. It was not noisy at all to me, and of course daytime only, but if you are picky, ask for a room that faces the other side of the building. The hotel staff were very friendly and I look forward to coming back to stay longer. …
A clean , well managed hotel. Good restaurant and pool bar. Lovely beaches across the road. Front desk staff were excellent, particularly Cheryl who was a delight. Only reason I didn’t give five stars is small bathroom and construction project happening next door.
Hotel was great, with large comfortable rooms. The pool and hot tub area was very nice and beautifully kept grounds all around. The staff was Awesome!!! Great location for walking to restaurants, shops and beaches.
Maui Coast Hotel is a decent, clean, competent hotel. The reason for 3* review is construction noise * the site next door is owned by the hotel. It has been razed to the ground to build an extension * as of Nov 2022 it is ground clearance and pile driving * the website contains no warning of construction noise * those guests booking direct are given no warning when reservations are made * staff give misleading advice on checkin (light construction work only, will finish by 3pm etc) * if you have a room on the side of the hotel overlooking the site then you will not be able to use your balcony. And the noise will be bothersome in the room. The outdoor pool is next to the site so that is affected. A room rate at $500-$600 / night in November demands much better than this. When i complained the manager Travis was efficient at moving me to the other side of the hotel. But the whole situation should have been avoided / proactively managed. I did not want to spend by birthday getting progressively more stressed and then changing rooms. You want to get a sense of the noise ? I have uploaded a video to YouTube. Type in “Construction noise at Maui Coast Hotel Hawaii” and you will find it. Judge for yourself…
I booked for a week and stayed for 3 (on and off) I booked for one week and had intended to travel the island during the other 3 weeks. I did indeed go to Lahania and Paia but kept coming back here. Each time I was upgraded to a huge room with a separate bedroom. As I was travelling the front desk staff suggested I could store my items with them whilst I was away, this was super helpful as it meant I could travel with one small bag and leave suitcases behind. The beach is a short walk across the road and an ABC store is 5 minutes away for food/drink or gifts. The pool had more than enough sun loungers and a bar which had a happy hour between 3-6. The car park large enough for Halloween decorations went up before I left which were good. Special mention to Manny on the front desk whose suggestion of storing luggage was so helpful plus each time I came back welcomed me back. Have booked for next year and I cannot wait.…
We enjoyed our stay here. The staff was very friendly. The room was excellent, very clean, very comfortable. Location is by construction, but that wasn't bad, just not "on the beach". Restaurant close by. Not a resort, but a very nice place to stay on Maui if you don't want to pay for resort items you never use.
