My wife and I chose this place for a getaway during the 2020 virus restrictions. A selling point for us was that we could get a room with a private hot tub filled with the natural hot spring water. They also have a chlorinated group pool, (masks required) and spa facilities with private bathtubs.

Our room was clean and spacious. It had a refrigerator, coffee pot, and TV. No microwave. Hot tub on the balcony with a serene view. The deadbolt on our room was not functional. This was mentioned in another review also so it may be wise to bring a supplemental locking device if that is a concern. We used a stout blackthorn walking stick wedged under the door handle to discourage unauthorized entry.

Hot tubbing on our balcony was very nice and met our expectations. Initial temperature was 104 F. Temperature gradually decreased over our two night stay and was at 95 F during our last soak on the morning of our departure. There were temperature controls on the tub but the maximum selectable temperature kept going down. We chose not to use the housekeeping services, and it is possible that they could have refilled with fresh hot water had we asked.

No on-site dining. Golf course restaurant is close but we didn’t use it. Coffee pot served for a couple of instant noodle breakfasts in the room, and we also brought in other food from a local deli and food truck.

We didn’t use the group pool or spa facilities this time, but look forward to doing so on future visits, after the virus commotion has died down.

My boyfriend and I got a room for the weekend of my birthday. The website makes it seem like a nice rustic resort with top of the line amenities and great customer service. We booked the king suite with a hot tub on the balcony. The hot tub was wonderful! The kitchen area was cute, the bed was average.
The robes in the bedroom were SO stiff, like a beach towel that has dried after being soaked in salt water.
The living room furniture needed an upgrade, the TV was pretty small for how big the room is, the pillows were super flat and uncomfortable. The mineral soak you can buy overpriced is just a glorified bath. And the towel wrap afterwards is literally just being wrapped in blankets for 20 minutes.
The town is super quaint and small, and the nearest larger town is about 10-15 minutes away.

The biggest thing that turned us off was the customer service. We showed up in the evening about an hour before close, my boyfriend had called in advance to say that we were showing up in the evening because we live three hours away ,and the front desk manager was not polite about it. He was not friendly, he seemed inconvenienced to be dealing with us, he talked too fast to even understand him and never made eye contact. We walked up to the desk numerous times with two people standing there and NOBODY acknowledged us at all until we said something.

Overall, the room was WAY too overpriced for what you get and the customer service is terrible. Find somewhere else to stay that's worth the money.

My son and I stayed at Carson hot springs on March 12-13, 2022 on a long journey. Seeking peace and a laid back rest, we had the most horrible night's sleep i've ever had in my life, and i've slept rough before. It was like they put us next to staff that lived there and they were making thuds all night long. Truly. I didn't sleep more than 2 hours and I was in bed for 10. It was ridiculous. The pool itself is open to the public and it's chloronated. The main pool is 4 feet deep and is like a very large hot tub. The " individual" tubs for rent are in a room (men or women only) with 8 other claw foot tubs in it where clothing is optional. We were hoping for the stars and got horribly dissapointed. Save your money.

My mom paid for two nights for me and my husband to stay at the Hot Springs hotel which cost $600 for my birthday weekend and was told over the phone that we could come early and go in the mineral pool while we wait for our room since we could not check in until 4pm. When me and my husband got there the two girls in the office said that the mineral pools were closed until Tuesday, which we did not get any notification. I said that’s the whole reason we came was for the swimming pool. She said the pool is not for swimming and said that the current guests are not allowed to leave until noon that the rooms would need to be cleaned so we could not check in until at least 5pm, they said that since the pools were closed they were comping people 25 minutes in the individual bath houses which were gender separated so me and my husband wouldn’t be able to go together and they said but there is no difference in the bathhouse than the tub in our suite. They were extremely rude, the office was dark, filthy dirty, and stunk like a sewage pipe had broke, instead of sitting there talking they should’ve been cleaning. We didn’t stay I was so upset at the way they treated me, the fact that my mom paid a ton of money for a closed pool and how disgusted I was when we walked in, we’re fighting to get our money back.

It's our 2nd time staying in Carson and this time I booked a room with private hot tub to celebrate my husband's birthday. To our surprise, we checked into the room and saw an uncleaned and messy room. We went back to the front desk and asked for an exchange, and they showed us a room in another building which is very old. The room looks like a employee living facility. They said they would charge $200 for that employee's room and issued us a refund for such downgrade. We said no we don't like that room and it was not worth $200. Finally we got assigned to a hotel room which is the one we booked. But this time we found some leftover food from previous guest in the fridge. When we checked out, we saw only men cleaning the room and none of them wear mask. We will not be back.

The location itself is beautiful and it is wonderful that it is so secluded! This place could be gorgeous if it were well maintained and managed well.

That said, it is absolutely falling apart. There were broken tiles in our bathroom, broken and sinking tiles in the walkways (like the subfloor was rotten and felt like you could fall through). I just shrugged these things off, since everywhere has their own problems.

However, my husband went to the bathhouse for a soak and wrap. There were many serious problems with his experience. Due to COVID-19 there are supposed to be curtains between each of the tubs and nobody is to be in the tub next to each other. A man entered the bathhouse and got in the tub next to him (there were NO curtains available). This man proceeded to masturbate and quietly moan while in the tub next to my husband. Obviously my husband had to leave his soak due to being uncomfortable.

He told me about this experience when he returned to our hotel room, and we reported it to office staff in the morning when we checked out. They offered a discount on the bathhouse fee when I reported it, but then denied it because we did not report the incident the night it happened.

My husband was disgusted and ashamed with his experience and this only served to make it worse, to be told he should have reported it sooner for it to even be acknowledged. I don’t care about the discount, but I do care that this is allowed to happen to guests.

We checked the website for what to bring for soaking a few hours in the mineral water and also phoned the front desk before arriving. Neither website nor front desk staff mentioned that you need to bring your own towels and flip flops are needed. So we had to drive to Dollar General to get towels, which was kind of odd considering there is also a hotel on site. They don’t take reservations for the bathhouse and offered that the men in our party could go right in for a 25 minute soak, but it would be a 45-minute wait for the women. We figured out from talking to other guests, not from the staff, that we could soak in the pool separate from the bathhouse. Being allowed to make reservations would make this much more inviting. We ended up just soaking in the large pool, which was in need of maintenance (broken shower handle, missing tiles) and cleaning. The concrete floor around the pool was fairly slick, so you’ll want sandals.

We went on a cold day to enjoy the hot mineral waters. There were few people in the indoor pool and they all were concerned about the temperature of the water which was 96 degrees per the maintenance man who checked it while I was there, when asked said it was not the usual 102-104 as the cold outdoors cooled the pipes the mineral water ran through.

With this in mind do not go there when the outside weather is not warm.

The pool itself had broken cement around the decorative tiles but the worst part was the lack of a changing room without a wet floor. You could change in one of two toilets in the women's bathroom or in one of two stalls at the south end of the pool area.

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCkS!!!?

In January of 2021 my fiancé and I made reservations for the Carson Hot Springs resort. It was both our first time going there and we were very excited because we had heard many good things about the Resort. When we got there they did not have our reservations which I had made online. The staff was great and made it right by making sure we got into a room. Once we made it to the room we found a cold hot tub. After calling by the front desk several times we finally got someone to our room about 6:30 to fix it. We went to dinner came back and found the hot tub not working again. We called the front desk and did not get it looked at again until after 8:30. The employee from the front reset the breaker and said it should be fine which it was okay but not hot by any means. I called the front desk and they told us to just give it time to heat back up. After all this we decided to stay another night so we could enjoy the hot tub. Saturday we left to go sightseeing and when we returned to the room the hot tub was once again cold. Called the front desk and they finally called us back about 8:30 to let us know they would put us in another room. Once we got to the new room between 9-10 we found the tv was not working. We called the front desk and never did get it fixed however we at least finally were able to enjoy a hot tub for a few hours. We paid close to $500 for a hot tub room for two nights and got to enjoy it maybe a total of 4 hours. I tried to talk to the front desk at checkout about how unhappy we were and they told us we had to call or send an email . I sent an email and got a call back right away. The lady I spoke with was very kind and apologized but explained due to COVID they were very short staffed. She offered to comp us a room for 1 night and said she would document it in the computer and we were free to use it when we wanted .
Today 10/30/2021 I called to see about making reservations for the comp room and was treated very poorly. The so called management said it was not in the computer. She kept telling me they would not comp a room because the Tv was not working. She obviously was not listening to me or just chose to disregard the main and major issues we had with the stay. She said the best they could do was a 15 percent discount. She was extremely rude and disrespectful pretty much was calling me a liar. I am so disappointed because We really liked he place . The staff back in January at least tried to make it right.

My wife and I booked a King-sized bedroom at the Carson Hotel and Spa for the night of 28th May for US$311 inclusive of tax (over Memorial Weekend), expecting exceptional service and luxury as indicated by their website. Their website also maintains that you can “Enjoy any meal of the day in our rustic dining area that looks out onto our beautiful grounds, rich with tall evergreens and rolling hills” .But when we arrived, we found that the hotel did not have any dining facilities and indeed did not even provide breakfast, and had not since Covid. The room was of mediocre standard with coffee facilities more usually found in a one-star motel. The light/heat lamp in the bathroom did not work and the extractor fan made an awful noise when switched on. When I tried to complain, I was told that the Manager would not be returning to the hotel until after the holidays. The staff explained that there had been a change of ownership. Avoid at all costs, it’s a rip-off.
