A wonderful place to stay. The villas are comfortable and luxurious. They have a stackable washer and dryer, kitchen, shower and jacuzzi tub. The grounds are gorgeous ! There is a koi pond. The resort has direct beach access. The staff members are kind, and do everything possible to make vacations enjoyable. Our concierge, MJ, is the best!

We came here for Memorial Day vacation, but the experience is terrible and humiliating. The booking team made our name wrong, and it took 1 hr for us to check in. After we moved into the room, it’s just got worse, we found cockroaches on the table and service people told us it’s normal to see the cockroaches here!! Really???? Why not put that in the hotel description? And we asked for changing a room and it got declined. The next day we woke up, found cockroaches every where. We tried to talk to a manger, she starts the conversation disrespectfully and behave arrogant. We feel being treated so badly because we are not white people and it’s such a racist behavior. We have to argue with her multiple times a day and talk with different teams. It’s such a awful experience and we will never choose Marriott.

As resort complexes go,, these villas at Ka’anapali (part of the Westin/Marriott Group) are hard to beat. The resort sits right on the beach. Stunning position in beautifully maintained grounds. Numerous pools and a couple of fine restaurants and bars. A simply super staff and the villas themselves are holiday homes with kitchens and washer/dryers. Spacious rooms are all nicely furnished. Essentially timeshare units, but also available on the hotel sites. I cannot recommend this spot highly enough. If you’re not hooked on the place, you need to see a doctor…

We are currently on the end of our stay here for the third year in a row. We have been Marriott members for over 30 years. We will not be coming back here again. We paid for our vacation through a VRBO member. We paid for an oceanview studio in the north tower, with a jetted tub and a lanai. When we arrived we received an oceanview studio, with no jetted tub and no lanai (we have a Juliet stand up). We did go back down to talk to someone at the front desk. She said if the reservation that they sent us doesn't say North Tower then we are supposed to assume it is the South Tower. How is a guest supposed to know that so they can verify what they are getting. The reservation also says Oceanview Studio Premium Villa (something that they don't even advertise on their site) so how do you verify that. The front desk agent was insistent that it should be on the reservation. I am looking at their reservation right now and no where does it say what tower, whether you have a tub or not and whether you have a lanai or not. Just wanted to let you know that like everything else nowadays you can't even trust a big name hotel/condo/villa that you are booking with. I usually don't write bad reviews but when it comes to encroach $10,000 for a two week vacation it's time to step up and say something.

We stayed at the south building. Check in was very smooth. We did check in late at 9pm and there was no line. We were able to bring our own luggages to our own room. I went in to get the keys first. Then we drove to the building and parked underground. Parking is free. We had access to the pools and beach. We saw a turtle at the beach! They do have some good snorkelling spots. We loved taking our toddler to the playground and kiddy pool at the north side. They have a free cycle box near the kiddy pool. It’s a good method to recycle beach toys! Beach chairs start to fill up at 7-8am. Everyone was nice and pleasant. Room was nice and spacious. It was clean and no bugs were seen. We were on the fourth floor. Housekeeping only came to our room once to clean. I am guessing you can request them to come in more often. The resort was able to provide us a crib and a high chair after we arrive. The crib mattress was good enough for my daughter to sleep on. We did not dine at the restaurants on site, but we did try Maui Fruit Ninja which is a must! It is located near the beach access and they are there on Tuesday and Friday. We checked out at 10am, but our flight was at 9:30pm. They gave us lounge pass to use for the day. This was a bonus! We were able to use the pools and have access to showers. I was really worried about reading other reviews, but we had a wonderful time and we will 100% come back again!!!

We bought our timeshare here while the resort was still under construction. We come once or twice a year and have been generally pleased with our experience. But this recent visit has been a big disappointment. We had a spectacular unit. But it’s infested with cockroaches. Tons of them. Everywhere. Walking across our bed while we’re watching tv (so gross). In the kitchen in the bathroom. Everywhere. Armies of them. I haven’t seen an infestation like this since I lived in a tenement building in NY. We reported it to housekeeping. No response. Plus, the room was shabby. It looked more like a Number 6 motel than a Westin. Broken tiles in the kitchen floor. Black, dirty grout between the tiles. The original lovely decor of buttery walls and Hawaiian art and decor has been replaced by cheap looking dark furniture and the ugliest dark carpet I’ve ever seen. They put a hideous finish on the bedroom was that clashes horribly with the carpet. Artworks has been eliminated. The dark walls are bare. The pretty, fragrant soaps are gone. The carpet in the corridors will make you dizzy. Unbelievable. It’s really sad to see the overall neglect of a property that was once so lovely. Honestly, COCKROACHES?? Several reviews have complained about them. How is Marriott not taking care of such a special property?

We spent 11 days at the Maui Westin Ocean Villas. The Good: the room was clean and comfortable. They provide a free shuttle that takes you to Whalers Wharf and Cannery Mall, Outlet Mall and Lahaina. The Bad: there is no way enough shaded lounge chairs at the pool and the guests are left to fight for a shaded spot at 7 AM and never leave the spot, or pay for a beach umbrella and chairs - which is probably what they are wanting the guests to do so they can grab some extra $$. One day, we had our towels and bags removed from our lounge chair while we were doing the timeshare membership talk. I said more than once that I needed to get back to the pool lounge chair but they told me that I had to be part of the talk. Apparently my travel partner was not good enough. The Timeshare Membership talk was an awful experience and I would recommend that you run away fast from having to go through what we went through. It started off with us having a question about it so we asked the Concierge. They told us that they would book us a time slot which would be 1.5 hours. Our talk was almost 3 hours - see my earlier note about the hotel removing our towels and bags from our pool chair. The talk started off ok with Helenya (?) and was going fine until the sale manager (?) Brian entered the room. Even that started off ok until he said that he would give us a few minutes to make our decision. I said that I would not make a large financial decision like that in a few minutes and wanted to go up to my room to discuss with my travel partner. He said they were busy and I would not be allowed to take an hour to chat with my family in my own room about it - either it was a few minutes in their salesroom or the deal was off the table. I said fine - no deal. He got up and walked out. Barely a goodbye. In fact I held my hand out to shake and was rebuffed. Then he sent in Kai. Kai had a promotional offer which was for 5 days. I am from the other side of North America - travel time anywhere from 12+ hours and would need more than 5 days at the hotel so I proceeded to ask the question of price for 10 days and he said that he is busy and is not interested in answering my hypothetical questions. I was in complete shock at how we were treated. Having reflected on how the talk went, I feel that the two men were extremely rude and truth be known, we may have decided to take the deal but we were treated like crap because we asked questions to get a better understanding of how the timeshare deal would fit with our situation. Save yourself the hassle and don't go to this place. There are nicer places on the island.

This place is gross. Killed over a dozen cockroaches so there are many more I didn’t see. Staff said we would get another room. 24hrs later still in the same room. Never coming here again! I’ve stayed in many motels in many countries and this was by far the worst experience.

We did not have a good experience at the Westin resort and villas in Maui. When we first arrived, we met a person at the reception desk who seemed sad, or perhaps grieving, or perhaps irritated by something. We were hoping to see someone smiling, even if at least for a moment, but that was not the case. We were provided a room different than what was assigned to us by our travel package vendor so we asked the hotel, and they immediately provided as the ocean view room. But the room was not at all at par with international standards. The room felt small and plasticy. The sink had a string odor to it as if it was harboring a bird’s corpse. The breakfast place did not have decent tasting food. They did not even have half and half. To summarize, for the price point, the place was really terrible, and we will never stay there again.

Stayed her for 4 nights during Easter weekend. We booked thru Marriott Bonvoy directly and didn't know there were different towers. We initially went to their north building and was told we were checking into the wrong building which was frustrating as we then had to go over to the other building. The lady at the south building was much more approachable and knowledgeable when she explained why we couldn't pay to upgrade to a better suite since these were time share villas and therefore didn't give the same flexibility as a normal hotel. We stayed in building 3 in a 1 bedroom suite. Rooms were a good size and appreciated the washer/dryer and full kitchen. Pool grounds and beach were great and loved that the pools were open til 10pm. Not sure if we would stay here again but it was a positive stay overall.
