The Premier Inn Isle Of Wight is often commended for its stellar service, with staff members who go above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. While the hotel's central location earns high marks for its convenience to attractions and the bonus of scenic river views, some guests have called out the lack of air conditioning as a drawback during warmer periods.
Cleanliness is a standout feature, as travelers consistently note the spotless environment. Opinions on value and room comfort vary, with some citing affordability and others pointing out additional costs.

Detailed Reviews
The staff we met were pleasant and helpful and with outside temperatures close to zero the lack of air conditioning was not a problem in our room. This is the only hotel we've stayed at where you need to request cleaning day by day but during our short stay we didn't bother. The reason was that there was no safe in the room nor were there any cupboard fronts or drawers. In consequence everything we had was in the open, on the desk or in open cupboards.
For two, there was only one chair so we sat up on the bed to watch tv. There were tea and coffee making facilities in the room but no decaf tea or decaf coffee although decaf coffee and semi skimmed milk individual pots were available to collect from reception. There was no loo brush in the bathroom. Other Premier Inns that we've stayed at had larger beds. The 4G signal in the hotel was weak but there was free WiFi which generally sufficed. For extra cost we could have had stronger WiFi but didn't need it.
The hotel does have a small car park which during the evenings was full as it also serves the adjacent Beefeater. If you arrive back during the evening you may need to find somewhere else to park.
We stayed at this hotel because of its easy walk into town.
The best thing about the room was the view out over the river.

Hotel's Favourite
The welcome was warm and friendly, beds were great, had fantastic sleep. Rooms are spacious, room and bathroom lovely and clean.
We added breakfast to our trip and it was also good. Attentive staff, refilled stations, as much coffee as you need to get going.
Parking is on site and free.
We bagged a great bargain on Black Friday and this hotel is super close to family and town and attractions if you are going to then. Well located.

The only Premier Inn on the IOW. Located near the river Medina, plenty of green space and parking nearby. We had a river facing room which was nice and quiet. It's a 10-15 min walk to the High Street.
The staff we met were very helpful. They are not routinely cleaning rooms throughout your stay but this was explained and it is easy enough to get fresh towels and coffee/tea etc. I guess most people would be on short stays as we were.
The Beefeater for breakfast and dinner, if you upgrade to the meal deal, is located literally next door. Great food and service there, especially Ann!
Be aware the you must put your car reg in the system for the entire length of your stay at reception, otherwise you will get a parking ticket!
My husband's umpteenth stay here for business but this was a sightseeing trip. Defo a great base for exploring.

1) Even if room is ready it is another £10 if more than half hour early. We arrived at 2pm, the room was available but it would cost an extra £10 because we were early. So we sat in the car.
2) Free Wifi is almost unusable. A Speed check showed it to be 0.8 Mbps. No doubt so they can charge you another £5 for the ‘Premium’ service.
3) The room was at 22.5 degC when we arrived, so I turned the thermostat down to 19.5 degC. It did nothing. In the middle of the night we had a fan on and the window open (in November) and yet still 22.5 degC. Maybe having a big fan in the room should have given it away. Must be a common problem. Imagine the heating costs!
4) i tried to get a can of drink from the machine in reception. After selecting the item and scanning my credit card, nothing happened, except for a £1.80 deduction on my card. I told reception who could do nothing. Just told it was another company who I must phone to get my money back.
What a nightmare - we will not be staying there again.

Lovely hotel. We have never visited the island before so picked a Premier Inn as you always know what you’re getting. This one did not disappoint rooms were clean, staff were great and free parking was a bonus as so many Premier Inns charge these days.

The staff were very helpful and polite, answering any questions we may have. Advising us on our meal plan and how we went about getting it all booked.
The room was very clean and tidy. (And we were able to go to our room early, which was a huge bonus.) The linen was clean and fresh, no stains or hairs ( believe me I have been to some awful ones.) We had the family room, which had a nice view of the sea. The windows were a little dusty on the outside, but being right next to salt air, that's to be expected.
Now my son and partner both found the beds comfortable. I found ours a little firm, but thats not a complaint just a preference. So I asked reception for a couple more pillows to help soften my sleep, and before I had even gotten into my room they had been delivered and waiting on my bed.
We were not rushed to leave in the morning, so we were able to have breakfast, shower and watch tv before we departed. All in all I would highly recommend and will be returning.
The restaurant (The beefeater) was amazing. We paid for the discounted meal and breakfast plan, kids eat breakfast for free. Breakfast was eat all you want, with cereals, continental, or the traditional British fry up. It was cooked really well. Everything was hot, clean utensils and happy to help, friendly staff.
The evening meal, was amazing, it was cooked with fresh ingredients ( I'm a cook, so know the difference) and every mouthful was better than the last. My son, who is autistic and can be a little fussy with some foods. He rang his grandparents to tell them, it was the best meal he had ever had! ( including my own cooking 😆)
I complimented the chef, but didn't get his name.
The young lady that served us was wonderful and gave us some great tips on places to visit whilst on the island.

Briefly, this Premier Inn is in a great location for visiting the attractions all over the island. The staff we interacted with were friendly and helpful. The breakfast spread was exactly what we've come to expect, a good choice of cereals, fruit, and well cooked 'English breakfast' fare. So that's the good stuff. My low score is because the actual hotel itself, corridors, stairs and our room was SO HOT! It wasn't even a hot day when we arrived. In fact it was raining very hard. But the minute we left the foyer through the side door..whoomph..the mugginess hit us!
We were very pleased to see a large pedestal fan in our room, & the window was open. But it was still ridiculously warm. I KNOW there's no air con' in this hotel, but we've stayed in other Premier Inns before, in the spring and summer without air con and have never experienced anything like this!..apart from the heat, the room was clean and tidy. There was a tiny amount of black mould on the shower curtain and the white towels needed swapping out for some new ones,(they left you a bit fluffy when drying one self)
We usually stay here rather than the site at Merrie Gardens, (for various reasons), but perhaps we need to swap back if ever visiting the island in the summer again.

The staff at the hotel were polite and helpful and the rooms standard for a premier inn, there was enough parking.
However the Premier Inn policy of one large towel per rooms needs to be changed it is quite ridiculous and we ate breakfast at the neighbouring Beefeater, but although the staff were working really hard, there was not enough staff on, there was about a 5-10 minute wait at reception and a long queue for the food, I have been to other Premier Inn's recently who have enough staff so that you are not waiting another 5 to 10 minutes for your food. Not the staff's fault but the policy that is wrong.

The room was unbearably hot. We had the window opened fully (10cm) and removed the heavy duvets. Fan was provided in advance and was going all night. Our concerns were first raised when we spotted a sign in the room inviting us to change our sheets for lighter ones if we were too hot. The staff openly admitted it was a hot hotel and apologised. At breakfast (excellent) we heard other guests talking about the heat too. The night’s sleep was ruined for all the family and we decided to cancel the second night’s stay and come home a day early. All other hotels were booked up when we tried to transfer but the main chain hotels on the island all advertised air con…but not this one. Avoid if you haven’t booked already - it is a sweat box. Daily maximum temp outside was 23C on 7th August so it wasn’t a heatwave at all!

Wonderful Premier Inn, we always stay with our children over the festive period while seeing family and this hotel never disappoints. Great location free parking. rooms are always clean and service is topnotch, the Christmas cards and children's selection box on the doors on Christmas Day was the icing on the cake and just reinforce why we always stay here thank you
