The Hesperia Bristol Playa hotel captivates with its dynamic atmosphere, thanks to the live music and karaoke near Music Square and the harbour. While the staff at the pool bar receive compliments for their friendliness, guests warn that the reception can sometimes be slow to respond.
Reviews suggest the rooms could benefit from an upgrade and improved cleanliness standards. Nonetheless, the hotel is often celebrated for its excellent location and scenic views, offering good value despite its basic amenities and varied opinions on the pool and sunbed maintenance.

Detailed Reviews
Stayed here for a week in February, check in was very straight forward reception staff very helpful, room was a little difficult to find when you first arrive, I had a one bedroom apartment on the ground floor room was clean bed very comfortable but the furniture in the room did look quite old and dated but the bathroom was really nice and looked new also first hotel I’ve stayed in for a long time where you use key rather than a card to unlock the door. The pool area is really nice plenty of sun beds available all day. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk along the seafront into the town and it’s a really nice walk. Hired the safety box in the room which cost €2 a day with a €20 deposit, nice supermarket at the hotel which has all the holiday essentials you need

This was our first visit to Fuerteventura. The hotel is well sited with a short stroll to a variety of shops, good bars / restaurants and music square for some very nice live evening music. As self catering guests we were very pleased to find a large Hiperdino just a couple of minutes walk away from the hotel. The reception staff were pleasant, the pool bar staff 'Danny, Cristina' and all, were always cheerful and welcoming. The lovely animation lady 'Catherina' was fantastic with our 6 year old son and he was very sad to have to say goodbye to her. Our room was spacious and kept nice and clean. Kitchen utensils were minimal but we managed. We sampled the hotel restaurant buffet style breakfast on one occasion and it was a disappointing experience. My advice would be to get seated and eating as soon as the restaurant opens or you could be left with only bread and jam for your €6.50 after the first to arrive have had their plate refills, because food was not replenished right throughout the serving period, not even the cereal. There was one English breakfast tea bag left when we sat down. I can not imagine what it's like trying to get a fair share of breakfast here when the hotel is full. This has never happened to us before on our holidays. In hindsight, we should have had breakfast at the pool bar, which served great food throughout the day too and at reasonable prices. Drinks from the pool bar were decent prices and a wide variety. The swimming pools were good and there were plenty of sunbeds (a few broken and grubby) but sunbeds in prime position were often reserved very early in the morning. We might return in the future for a shorter holiday.

On arrival we were informed that we had a free upgrade. We were upgraded to a 2 bedroom appartment with 2 balconies.
The staff at the hotel were friendly and always spoke to you.
The pool was attended by a life guard for most of the day and there was an animation person week days. Who even got the adult to play free bingo to win a bottle of fizz!
Breakfast at the hotel was good value for money at 6 Euros 50 each. It was a buffet style breakfast with a wide range of food including cooked breakfast, pasteries, continental, fruit, yoghurts, tea/coffee and juice. You could go up as many times as you want.
The pool bar team led by Danny were friendly and attentive. Food here is good too and they do a mean Mojito and milkshake!
Rooms are well equipped with all you need! Including a safe. Room we stayed in was beginning to show signs of wear and tear. Although nothing that a coat of paint wouldn't solve.
We would stay here again if we were having a short break!

5 of us stayed the first week of October and had a fantastic time. Having seen a few negative reviews before we arrived I was a bit nervous but I needn't have worried. We'd emailed them ahead of arrival to see if we could have rooms next to each other and luckily they could accommodate this (we would have understood if it wasn't possible). We had first floor rooms overlooking the pool. The stairs are a bit steep so definitely bear this in mind if anyone with you has mobility issues.
There was three of us in one of the rooms but it was still spacious, the sofa bed is firm, knowing there was no aircon when booking we knew it would be warm so sleeping on the sofa bed with the balcony door open bought a lovely breeze into the room. We did see some people hiring fans from reception but we managed without.
There's a well lit built in wardrobe in the bedroom with hangers.
The chairs on the balcony were comfy and had seat cushions, due to the position of the drying rack things took a lot longer to dry than expected but there's an onsite laundry that we used once to give our beach towels a refresh (tokens available from receptionfor a small fee).
We were told about the once a week clean when we checked in so made sure we kept the room tidy, there's a dustpan, brush and mop in the cupboard in the room, also washing up items were provided in the room when we arrived.
The staff were all extremely friendly and happy, Carlos who runs the bar is extremely welcoming (especially with the mango tequila lol) The food at the pool bar was good value and delicious. On one occasion they were very busy and it took a little while for the food to come, they were very apologetic and even gave us a few drink voucher each even though we hadn't complained. So when I read comments about rude staff I really have to question what must have happened as we certainly never experienced this at all.
The on site shop is good value and only slightly more expensive than the local supermarkets and has everything from swimming goggles, fresh bread, snacks, phone charges, food and souvenirs. We went a few times and got large bottles of pop as it was easier that carrying it back from town.
The pool area was cleaned regularly and there's an lifeguard who, on our last day when the pool was busy, found empty sun loungers and took them to people who didn't have one.
The location is great only about 5 mins walk to Music Square, about 10 mins walk to the harbour and town beach. We got taxis a couple of times to the strip when it was too hot to walk and these were under 5 euros each and came quickly.
Check out is at 12 and they have somewhere to store bags and a shower to use (just make sure you book a slot in plenty of time).
I would definitely book these apartments again as excellent value, great location and staff.

Apartment 233 on the first floor with balcony overlooking pool area was clean and tidy, one bedroom with 6 foot bed, not two singles put together. The bathroom had a rain shower with ceramic base, ample hot water and hand soap, shower gel and shampoo supplied, ample towels for the week, but no cleaning service during our stay. The kitchen/dining room had a table and a couple of chairs, toaster, microwave, kettle, fridge and two ring electric hob, the strange thing, in this room was another double bed, not sofa bed. The balcony had a table with two chairs and a drying rack. The pool area was quiet and clean (salt water pool) the added bonus was 'everyone' has a chance of getting a sunbed, there are ample sunbeds and the nice thing is they get chained up at night only released at between 9am and 10 am the next morning, which as an onlooker is something to see. Guests lurking around the pool area or racing from there apartment once they see the groundsman on site. Note he doesn't unlock the sunbeds when he gets on site or on request. There is a shop on site and a bar which serves food. Night time entertainment seems to be alfresco which you can hear from your balcony, could be a bonus if you have children. The location of Hesperia is nearer the harbour, within walking distance of the town centre and music square, certainly safe to walk back after an evening out, we were walking back at 1am. We are not pool people so opted to go to Waikiki beach, swimming in the sea I find very relaxing. Enjoy your hols. I would just say, checking in time is 5pm and I informed hesoeria of my arrival time of 2pm. We could have a shower and change when we got there, they will store your bags as long as every item of clothing is in your case. There is no separate storage facility for outgoing luggage for guests, to incoming guests luggage. We really enjoyed this place, we are easily pleased, we are not demanding guests.

We have just returned from a week at the Hesperia Bristol PLAYA. Overall we were happy with the hotel, we were looking for a relaxing holiday which this hotel fit perfectly. The room was clean, had basic kitchen facilities but all you need to make a few meals. We did book a 'new style' room which I'm not sure we got as the furniture was rough round the edges and we noticed other rooms getting a refurb. But it was fine. Bit annoying our balcony never saw the sun so didn't really use it other than to dry clothes.
The pool area and bar was lovely, bar staff were super friendly even when busy, food was good and good prices. Only thing is the pool and pool bar opening times. Pool 10am-6pm which isn't long enough really and the pool bar closed at 8pm so felt like you had to go out in evening.
Unfortunately we got hit by lockdown of the island for covid 19. It came into force on Sunday 15th morning so luckily we only had a day and a half to go! But by the Monday the hotel had cornered off all communal areas, the bar was only doing takeaways, and we wasn't even allowed to go to the supermarket down the road. It felt like prison! Also we felt like we were in the way as the hotel maintenance staff were moving in new furniture into rooms, like we wasn't there anymore! Very inconsiderate to the guests. But the reception staff did communicate with us well on the situation.
Overall a great stay!

Just come back from a weeks stay in Corralejo fuerteventura, and what a fabulous place it is. The weather was in the high 20s most days. We stayed self catering (there was an option for b&b, but we either had breakfast in or went out) approx 3-4 euros per breakfast. The hotel was clean, pool area clean, pool bar was great with food and drink at reasonable prices, it has an onsite supermarket, with everything you need for self catering, there is a spar supermarket near by as well. The pool was cold, but it was the end of jan and it wasn’t heated, but people still went in to cool off. We had a 1 bedroom apartment with a terrace, it had all the cooking facilities. The furniture was a little dated, the bathroom was very nice, beds were comfortable, and not at all noisy. The hotel was approx 10 min walk to the main strip or harbour, and 15 mins to a very nice beach. The hotel was against the sea, and we loved the walks around the coast, to the harbour and around the sea front where there were dozens of bars and restaurants overlooking the sea. The mini square was delightful, with tapas bars and singing and dancing. We ate in some lovely restaurants, and there are plenty. We loved every minute of our vacation, and would definitely recommend this area and hotel. We will return in the future, Paul & Rachel

Do not stay at this property, our room was filthy dirty, full of insects tired and worn the towels are barely hanging on. you have to put a please clean room sticker on the door or the room will not be ‘cleaned’ and towels not changed.we were unable to even open the door as there were so many bugs outside, we asked to move rooms three times only to be told that they were too busy to accommodate however there were plenty of rooms available online. one night we came back to find our room door was wide open with a Spanish maintenance man inside who didn’t speak any English. we were never told he was in there and the door opened up to the whole bar area with all our belongings inside. the staff are rude and do not want to help/ care about the situation or help with any other details. there are hidden extras with everything including the gym which you have to prebook and pay for. I was not told of this and when I went to use the gym they explained that I had to pay there and then to use it and could not pay later. we paid over £100 per night for this hotel as it was over new year, I wish that we never stayed here as it ruined our holiday having to keep complaining and getting frustrated over the the staff not caring at all.

We booked this hotel for a family of 4, including a child of 8 years old, as it looked a family friendly place. However, if you have children who want to be entertained or keep themselves entertained, I would book elsewhere. This hotel is ideal for couples or those wanting a quiet relaxing time. There is just no atmosphere and the pool rules are just draconian. No diving, no lilos or balls allowed in the pool and if attempted you are quickly reprimanded by the on-site jobsworth, sorry, life guard. There is also a distinct lack of sun beds. We had to set our alarm for half 7 to even have a chance of getting your towels on a bed, which were then left unoccupied for the majority of the day. On the plus side, it is a decent looking hotel and it is a good base to explore Corralejo. It is a 10 minute walk to the music square and about 20 minutes to Waikiki beach. There is a handy supermarket on site which has everything you need. However, the big Dino supermarket is only a 10 minute walk away. Big shout out to the pool bar which at least attempted to put a stamp of holiday on the resort. Food and drinks are reasonably priced and both Danny and Cristina work tirelessly to keep you happy. All in all a decent hotel but I won't be returning due to the lack of anything child friendly.

Stayed for 17 nights. The apartment we stayed in was clean and comfortable, which to be honest is all you need. Nice shower plenty of space and storage, two large wall mounted TVs and large balcony cooking facilities if required and a large fridge. We had a Pool view room and I suggest you ask for one or sea view depending on your preference. Be warned if you just go for a standard room there are quite a few in locations which are not ideal!! The pools are lovely and as previously mentioned on here there are a number of rules which are enforced but didn't bother us. Staff are very nice and friendly and polite. We had no issues whilst staying here the location is peaceful, although a little windy but again not a problem as it keeps you cooler on red hot afternoon's. The holiday was a last minute bargain although I did have concerns reading the reviews there was no need. For the money we paid the apartments and complex are great, we had a fab holiday. Tip: book pool or sea view and read the reviews and apartments website before booking and if the cleaning and towels (once a week) (you are supplied with cleaning items in the apartment), Pool rules, No Aircon etc are not for you then don't book, but please don't complain if you don't do the research. Must also mention the pool bar and staff they are super friendly and great pool bar, all in all a lovely holiday.
