Nestled on a picturesque beachfront, Secrets Bahía Real Resort & Spa is celebrated for its tranquil ambiance and meticulous cleanliness, from spotless rooms to well-kept facilities. While the hotel's location is generally prized for its convenience, the presence of some nearby rundown buildings has been noted. The staff is commended for their attentive service, although there have been occasional lapses around the pool. Despite the luxurious amenities and comfortable rooms boasting stunning views, some guests feel the hotel falls short in value, especially with additional charges and some outdated decor.

We were there at the end of February which unfortunately coincided with the Sand Storm from the Saturday to the Tuesday, but we wish to express our thanks to the wonderful staff who were constantly hosing down sun beds or clearing sand from around the hotel. All staff were helpful and the Concierge Staff especially provided ideas of places to see or visit during our week. Nothing was too much trouble especially in the Buffet breakfast as I am a coeliac and each morning one of the lovely serving staff provided gluten-free products for me. Yes, as some have said the furnishings are a little tired but the hotel is in the process of closing next autumn for a refurb. The rooms were kept spotless and all toiletries were topped up regularly and we were able to avail of the pillow menu and the linen menu to aid better sleep. Location perfect with the beach in front of the hotel and the inner courtyard complete with pools. Relaxing sun beds with comfortable mattresses to while away the time and a pleasant guy on the towel kiosk issuing towels. We didn’t eat in the hotel at night preferring to try restaurants in town, but enjoyed the little restaurant overlooking the pool for a mid day snack. We enjoyed visiting Fuerteventura and hope to return. Thanks to everyone on the staff for making this a relaxing break.

Dear Ms. Lisburngir. First of all we want to thank for your fantastic review in Tripadvisor. The Sand Storm was the first after 50 years, normally are not so heavy ... we are happy to read you enjoyed our wonderful buffet and the possibility of having lunch by the pool in Beach club las Palmeras. We hope you will return to visit us and you will decide to enjoy lunch in our Coco Lounge on the sea and dinner in our three thematic restaurants. Best regards and see you soon ! My wife and I recently stayed for a week and enjoyed our stay enormously!
Its a class above a lot of hotels that purport to be 5 star!

Excellent breakfast, high quality sun loungers and mattresses around pool area and on the beach of which there are plenty and no need fight for!

Lovely spacious rooms with large balconies. Almost everything has been covered in recent reviews so I don't wish to repeat but the walk to the town via the road/path is approx 30mins through a well kept area of small villas etc and has a cycle and footpath
is lit and was safe.

The beach walk to town isn't lit and is very uneven and is a mixture of sand and rocks, in the daylight it is a nice walk taking approx 25mins to the town passing a few bars and cafes.
The derelict hotel that has been mentioned in many previous reviews was not visible from any of the hotel rooms and not a problem for me.

We had room 273 which was in a lovely central position on the second floor over looking and although the pool is surrounded by buildings almost like a large courtyard there was only one side that had balconies so you are not overlooked.

We have a couple points we would like to raise for your consideration:-
1. Hand sanitiser on entrance/exit to restaurants.
2. Security gates that close automatically that can only be opened with room key.
The gates from the beach were left open on most occasions.
3. Security on front door / reception.
4. Room 273 was warm / hot in the evening and we had to have the patio door open all night to try and cool it. There was little breeze through the patio door because of the enclosed courtyard location.
We queried why the air con wasn't working and was told it is switched off during the winter months which we fully appreciated. I should imagine the majority of rooms wouldn't required air con on because they would have the benefited from the breeze.
Perhaps for certain rooms it may be worth considering allowing the air con on during warm winter months.

Dear customer, Thank you very much for your excellent evaluation of your vacation experience with us. It is a pleasure to know that you have fully enjoyed our careful attention to detail and our facilities designed for the enjoyment of customers. We select the best products so that our customers not only have breakfast but start the day with an authentic gastronomic experience. The pools área is planted with tropical plants and palm trees that make it cozy to spend the day there. Around the pool area we have nice large and comfortable sunbeds. The spaciousness, elegance and comfort are a common denominator in all 170 rooms and 72 suites. All of them with diverse and varied types of decoration offer the highest quality and wonderful views of the sea or the tropical gardens of the hotel, making your stay a unique and unrepeatable experience. All rooms as well as the rest of the hotel rooms have air conditioning during the summer season and heating during the winter season. This year we had a warm winter, but when it is cold here in the Canary Islands it is really cold. If it’s to hot for any of our guests, we always offer to bring a fan to the room. In reference to the points you have mentioned. We have now in different places of the hotel the hand sanitiser. And what you have already commented, it is a very safe island, so in this case it is not necessary to have security entrance. It will be our pleasure to welcome you again, we are waiting for you soon! Best regards, Javier Tello General Manager

We got back from this hotel yesterday afternoon. We looked at a few different hotels online before deciding to book. There was one bad review which made us wary however our experience was the opposite.
As soon as we arrived we felt totally relaxed.
The service stands out as 5 star as soon as you arrive.
Our room was lovely spacious and very comfortable, we had an amazing sea view from our room overlooking island of Lobos and could see lanzarote across the sea.
The hotel was not full capacity due to covid however it made it even more relaxing and the service from all the staff was friendly and very professional.
Our favourite restaurant was the lunch time restaurant downstairs lots of delicious dishes and great view over sea with part of the restaurant partially outside over looking the tastefully landscaped pools.
Covid safety around the hotel was excellent, hand sanitiser next to all lifts and around the hotel ,they had thought of everything that would avoid contact with other people, sunbeds sanitised and menus all done electonically.
The location of the hotel is beautiful and a pleasant walk to nearby shops.
Cocktail / piano bar perfect end to the day, excellent cocktails made by Matt and Enrico
The spa was amazing , I had a massage which I can say was one of the best I have ever had.
We have stayed in a few 4 star hotels on the canary islands and a couple have been this island but we will definitely return to this one as being 5 star could definitely tell the difference in the quality and standards.

The first thing to say about this hotel is how friendly and helpful the staff are - they are a real credit to the hotel.
Secondly, the hotel and grounds are beautiful and you can never tire of that sea view.
Thirdly, A*plus for the sun beds and towels - hands down the best I’ve ever used. The sun beds are very sturdy, the mattresses thick and comfortable, and the towels large and thick. The towels can be swapped daily with no charge.
We had a really lovely four days at half term. The weather was lovely, very hot in the day.
The pools are so clean, and the heated one was the warmest I’ve ever come across. The whole pool area was clean and there were always sun beds available around the pool or at the beach. No need to put towels down before going out for the day.
The grounds are really lovely and immaculate.
I was disappointed that our 15 year old couldn’t use the gym as she attends one at home, and I can’t see why it’s not allowed as long as she is accompanied by an adult.
The food was lovely with an amazing choice of cereals and British bacon at breakfast !!!
However our vegetarian friends would not like the fact that the pancakes are cooked on the same griddle as eggs and bacon. That needs changing.
The rooms are clean, but I found the pillows very hard and some furnishings looked a little dated. The bathroom was enormous and the selection of toiletries fabulous. Even included toothbrushes and a razor.
The view of the little island and over to Lanzarote is beautiful. I spent many hours watching the ferries come and go, and the waves crashing in. Paradise.
My only complaint would be food and bar prices. We went B&B and would buy one drink in the bar at night. A glass of cava was €6 when you can buy a whole bottle from HyperDino for the same price. The amount we were charged to eat in the buffet two nights was disgusting, and it didn’t include drinks.
I absolutely would return to this hotel as it’s almost perfect, but I would go all inclusive.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our first experience of the canary Islands, staying in this hotel.
We have spent alot of time at the hotel. The facilities are always so clean and all the staff are always smiley and helpful. It was lovely to be met and greeted by David in particular who went above and beyond to be helpful.
The spa facilities are lovely and we used the gym and pool most days.
The breakfast buffet is of a high standard and lots of choice.
We didn't realise untill the end of our trip but there is a walk to the town along the beach, giving you the opportunity to stop at some nice bars.
Little touches like the cleaning ladies leaving chocolates in our room at night was very thoughtful. We were made to feel well looked after and this hotel was just what we were looking for and more, for a quiet and relaxed holiday while we are expecting a baby in the next few months.

Stayed for 4 nights as soon as UK lifted quarantine for the Canary Islands - from the minute we walked in we were looked after by friendly staff and made most welcome.
We had two adjacent rooms and both were pristine and perfectly lovely, with view towards the sea. The beds were comfortable, and the rooms were cleaned daily.
The food was perfectly fine, no issues there!
There seemed to be cleaners everywhere, and we observed disinfection of all public areas which seemed to be happening very frequently, which was re assuring, during this Covid era.

The hotel was fairly quiet, and there were limited bars and restaurants open, but this was not a problem as there were enough people around to ensure some atmosphere within them.
The only down side was a loud group of people who sounded as though they were from the Essex area of the UK who seemed to be un concerned that their music around the pool wasn’t to everyone’s taste, and oblivious to the fact that others didn’t want to listen to their every conversation, but this didn’t spoil our holiday.
The weather was perfect, the hotel is only a short and cheap taxi ride away from the main town which has bars and shops, and an old town area which is lovely.
We hope to return soon, thank you for a lovely holiday

We booked through the Indulgent Escapes. The hotel is 1/2 hour drive from the airport on outskirts of Corralejo which is 20-30 minutes walk. It lived up to all our expectations. Lovely room with view across to Isla do Lobo/ Lanzarote. Very comfortable bed with quality room and balcony furniture. Public areas immaculate, staff always helpful and friendly. Excellent buffet breakfast with many alternatives. We had dinner in the buffet restaurant three nights. Good quality and plenty of choice. Some offerings suffer from the "bain marie" curse ie become "stewed", but there are fresh cooked alternatives. We also tried the speciality restaurants which you have to book and can cost extra depending on your meal plan. We very much enjoyed the international and the Spanish themed restaurants but we found the Japanese restaurant not to the same standard, our tempura dishes could have been crisper and our steak main was served with a very salty teryaki sauce. Excellent spa and the gym looked well equipped. The beach appears of imported sand and is rocky in parts, but is well equipped with sun beds, umbrellas and the like with a life-guard on duty daily. An excellent sandy beach where kite boarding etc is done is a 20 minute walk further out of town. The hotel changed ownership during our stay but subject to no disastrous changes, we plan to return.

Dear customer, Thank you very much for your recent visit to our hotel and for your favorable comment on this network of travelers. Without doubt our location is unbeatable, on the beachfront and with wonderful views of Lobos and Lanzarote. The center can be easily reached on foot along the coast, which also constitutes a very pleasant walk and the proximity to the Natural Park of the Dunes of Corralejo is also very convenient for specific visits. In reference to our breakfast buffet it is true that a constant offer is maintained, but we have a total of more than 250 products for all tastes and preferences and our live kitchen area offers variations, we also select the best products of the season as for example, the fresh fruit with which we also make smoothies and juices. We are glad to know that your vacation was a success and that you have managed to disconnect and enjoy our "paradise" corner. Our staff is reputed to be very helpful and friendly, also the waiters are always aware of customers providing a personalized service to each. Currently our hotel has a great gastronomic offer that covers all tastes, with a total of 6 restaurants. 2 lunch restaurants, the main buffet restaurant and 3 themed restaurants. A spanish restaurant “Las Columnas”, a gourmet restaurant “La Cúpula” and a Japanese restaurant “Yamatori”. (Reservations at a la carte restaurants, subject to availability and opening days). We are sorry to hear that you did not like Yamatori restaurant, but maybe try it again by you next visit. The Japanese restaurant indicate that it has a wide range of varied dishes from dishes prepared on the plate of the Teppanyaki table to freshly prepared sushi and sashimi dishes, we also have specialized desserts such as tempura or green tea ice cream and drinks Typical Japanese such as sake. For sure you will find something for your taste. Our "Bahía Vital Spa" has stood out, with its thermal circuit and the great variety of treatments it offers, it is the ideal place to indulge yourself in every way. In our Fitness Club we offer cutting-edge facilities with a wide range of state-of-the-art equipment for cardiovascular training and bodybuilding to tone your body, improve your metabolism and increase your energy levels. Thanks again for this comforting review about your stay with us, we look forward to your next visit. Best regards, Javier Tello General Manager

Our stay at the hotel was very last minute (12 hours) due to a holiday we were going on being cancelled at the very last minute. We couldn't have been happier in finding the Bahia had availability. We stayed in a junior suite with side sea view initially on a bed and breakfast basis, but decided to upgrade to DB&B rate as the food was so good. Our room got evening sunshine so after a day out we were able to catch some late afternoon rays (April) Our room was large, bed super comfortable, extra blankets in the cupboard, which we did need as quite chilly at night. Bathroom had separate screened off toilet, double basins and shower over bath. Plenty of toiletries and quality towels. All you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Nespresso coffee maker and kettle with good selection of teas and coffees. The Bahia staff were all charming, well dressed and efficient. The buffet breakfast was fabulous, with a huge array of food to suit all tastes. I was very impressed with the juice bar and was able to get my favourite juice (apple, beetroot and carrot) made for me. If you fancied a vodka and tomato juice, even that was catered for, along with cava... based on the quality and volume of food offered at breakfast we decided to upgrade to the DB&B package which included the evening meal. Doing it this way was a little cheaper than paying each night for the buffet. We also ate in the Japanese restaurant one night which was very good. The hotel restaurants seemed to open in rotation, I guess due to staffing issues maybe and guest volume. The buffet dinner, was equally impressive, and all presented well and constantly being refreshed. It was good to see guests were wearing their face masks around the food and if they didn't have one on they were politely asked to wear one. We used the indoor swimming pool every morning when it was open for swimming only between 8 and 9am. The rest of the time time slots had to be booked. The gym was well equipped and yoga/pilates classes were on offer most days. The hotel is right on the beach with sunbeds and wind shields. There was never a shortage of beds here or by the hotel pool, although it was April, so this may be different in the height of the summer. All in all a fabulous hotel, we are definitely going to rebook, so hope nothing changes in the meantime, we had a wonderful relaxing stay. And if you fancy a walk into town, it takes 20 minutes by road or along the beach a little longer.

This resort does almost deliver as a 5* destination and if you are looking for a relaxing, quiet Luxurious experience, I would recommend it.

The over all look and feel of the rooms and communal spaces is high end, warm with a Tuscan feel, sure there are more contemporary modern resorts, but this has a sophisticated charm about it, the house keeping team do a fantastic job keeping everything pristine.

The rooms are spacious, very well appointed with great facilities, a very comfortable bed and great bed linen.

The bathroom is spacious with a double vanity separate WC and bath with over head shower, which has the most amazing water pressure, the best I've ever experienced anywhere and although I'd have preferred a walk in separate shower enclosure, the amazing shower head and water pressure made up for it!

The pool area and gardens are beautiful with mature exotic plants and palms, plenty of sunbeds reasonably spaced out, no need to rush down with your towels in the morning! I have to say, the sunbeds are the most comfortable I've experienced, almost like day beds with a deep mattress....fantastic! The pool is surrounded by the rooms and the pool (like most pools) isn't heated, so brace yourself!

The service from the staff was polite, professional and courteous.

The food at the various restaurants was to a great standard, plenty of variety and very fresh. As with a lot of these resorts certain wines and beverages are an up-charge not covered by the all inclusive, which the staff do point out when ordering.

We didn't use the Spa facilities, however I used the gym every morning, which was quite well equipped and good for a daily workout

As other contributors have already mentioned the location is a slight let down, the resort is surrounded with derelict half built apartment blocks and shopping complexes with graffiti all over, ok when you're in the resort, but very obvious once you step outside, it would have been 5 stars had the location and surrounding been better.

Taking all things into consideration I would highly recommend this resort,

Would I return? Yes if i got a great deal, but unlikely as I do like to try new destinations and resorts.

Dear PM_R186534, first of all we would like to apologize for the delay in answering your wonderful review. Somehow we have overlooked your comment and we are very sorry for this since every single review is very valuble to us. Furthemore we would like to thank you for sharing your experience with us and the rest of the readers. It is our honor to see that you have spent some wonderful time with us. We fully agree with you that the unfinished buildings are certainly not an attractive sight. However, in our opinion, they should simply be overlooked as they do not detract from the captivating beauty of this island. Furthermore, the building to which you refer is located on the opposite side of the street and is not visible from the hotel rooms and terraces. Nevertheless, we are glad to know that your expectations were met and that you returned home convinced of having discovered a place to recommend and hopefully one day return to. Sincerely, Slavi Naric Guest Experience Secrets Bahia Real Resort & Spa

We have visited Fuerteventura before but this was our first stay at this hotel, we were not disappointed.
We stayed on a half board basis, which meant that evening dinner was on a self serve basis with two areas dedicated to either fish or meat offering varied choices cooked to how you preferred these to be cooked for you. Complimenting these was a good choice of various starters and desserts. At breakfast time again fresh juices and smoothies plus a good quality choice from a freshly cooked grill. One area I thought could be improved was the choice of cereals which was somewhat limited in variety.
The main pool area was spacious and nicely appointed, plus thankfully not spoilt by "the grab a sunbed" brigade. In addition to this the hotel has a good area of beach with their own sunbeds, plus a quiet outside area close to the gym with a decked area.
Additionally there is an excellent indoor pool and spa.
Evening entertainment is low key with usually a duo singing/playing in the bar area close to the main reception.
We found the staff to be both pleasant and helpful and would certainly return again in the future.

Room Tip: Our room was on level 3 which gave us a side sea view plus a harbour view, very pleasant.

I asked about this during our last stay I was told that "the Sugar Reef was closed due to stormy weather we had". It looks to me as though it has permanently closed, or perhaps only opens for a few weeks in high season?

No idea re scooters. The hotel is on the edge of the town, and I would say a good 15–20-minute walk to any other reasonable eateries.

Do rooms have walk in showers?

Our bathroom had a shower pan that you had to walk through to get to the bath - so a walk through, as opposed to walk in! I can't attach a photo here, so you'll need to check my review from last November
