Unfortunately we had a number of issues with the accommodation/services/facilities not being as described. Local management unhelpful and unwilling to accept any responsibility (and in fact went to extraordinary lengths to avoid having to refund us any money). Dispute settled by Air B&B who refunded us a large percentage of the cost of our stay due to the issues we experienced. Praise to Air B&B for excellent customer service and assistance both during and after our trip. Advertised as being 4 bedrooms, waterfront, and having a bathtub and gym. We arrived to find there were only 3 bedrooms, no gym, no tub and located around 2.5km from the closest waterfront (on a scruffy back road just off the main road into Porto Cristo). Signs in each bathroom asking us to leave our towels on the floor if we wanted them to be replaced, yet we received no housekeeping visits for the entire week. We had to purchase our own cleaning supplies (cloths, dustpan and brush, bin bags etc) and disposed of our own rubbish each day. There was also only one washing machine between 9 apartments and no drier or clothes line (which meant we had to hang wet clothes on our balcony to dry them). The worst thing was Natalia’s unsubstantiated allegations after we left that we had caused damage to the apartment, and also attempting to charge us for breakfast (which we were previously told was free) in order to try and avoid issuing the partial refund imposed upon her by Air B&B. Luckily we had taken a video of the whole apartment as we left so were able to prove we left it in perfect condition and her claims were found to be false. A greedy and underhand trick which in this case failed.…
Majorca -even in May-has a lot of (too many?) tourists. We were all the more relieved when we arrived at Sa Vaqueria which is quiet and-appears- a fair bit removed from the hustle. All other guests were very respectful. There were just a couple of minor tweaks which would make this lovely get-away even better: - the air con in our apartment appeared not to work (which may be a little more tricky in summer) - the jacuzzi water was cold - kitchen appliances available, however, the basics -such as oil,salt,pepper,coffee- were not supplied which is not something we wanted to buy for a couple of days stay - the last morning: there was no hot water (I guess that happens, but was still unfortunate) Beyond that, happy to come back. Also, loved the breakfast with homemade goodies and slight changes to the menu every day. :)…
The 9 rooms/apartments are conveniently located close to Porto Cristo on the east side of the Island. Less then one hour by car from Palma. Its a peaceful place with nice rooms, swimming pool and spa. Breakfast is included and is delicious. Service level is high. Highly recommended.
